Title: Breathing Easier - Cd Is A Success!
lindagt - March 24, 2007 11:28 AM (GMT)
I just realized this morning that I can breathe a sigh of relief. Of course the CD is an artistic success - we all knew that would be true. It's also a bonafide commercial success. Whether he sells Gold, Platinum or whatever - it's already a hot selling CD. He said last night on JoJo that the CD was an Indy project that had already exceeded their expectation. JoJo said the CDs were flying off the shelves in LA - we are finding the same to be true everywhere else.
Yes!! I think we can safely say there will a second album in our future!! People will be turned on to the talent that is Elliott Yamin! Not to say we can stop promoting (will never happen) but we can be satisfied that even if he didn't sell another album today - his point has been made.

This is the best point of all. And many more after that!

That's right. I honestly think he just wants to be able to make a good living doing this and he surely will. But we want him to shine brighter than the brightest star - and I believe someday he will!

Whew! If Elliott says the CD sales exceeded his expectations then that is indeed success and now everyone is discovering what we have known all along: the magic that is Elliott's voice. It of course helps that he has such a lovable personality.

And the coolest thing of all: I now have all ten bonus tracks of Elliott's! I can now listen to his 21-song debut CD.

I believe it is truly a success - there was a little confusion the day after because people like me were expecting to hear about Elliott's CD on the evening news, but it looks like the critiques are all basically positive (I've read absolutely no negative stuff about his voice and THE VOICE is what I've been screaming about this past year), that Elliott is thrilled and that the CD is selling. I like your comment about shining brighter than the brightest star. I do feel this way, darn it, I wish I could relax, but I really think Elliott is living his dream and my dream about him is not important. Concerts, another CD, this CD and all the bonus stuff - what more could I want?!

I think you've hit on it exactly - his dream of success has been achieved - no doubt. By any standards the CD is commercially successful just by it's opening sales and rankings.
Our dream, which is hard to let go of, is to be able to "SHOW THEM" whoever they were who didn't believe that he can make it. And to us - that only means #1 sales, ranking, gold and platinum status. But that's our dream - not necessary for the CD to be a success.

Be patient...Elliott will be one of the brightest stars around when Daughtry is only a memory.

I believe Elliot is a natural for this business. He's got one of the best voices in the business so there is unlimited potential there. He's honed and polished it himself without any training which is remarkable. He has real talent and that has been said by everyone. He (if he wants to be) can be around in this business for a long time. The genres he's capable of are also more of a staple than other genres that come and go.
He's also a great personality (and everyone agrees a genuine guy) which is coming out more and more and is important in show business. (And gawd does he look sexy these days!...) I want to see more and more of him and hear more. If that is his wish too that is.... but I think he'll go with this however big or small he wants go into it. It's a tough business. He may have some bumps (some real rough ones perhaps) and he's got to find his comfort zone too. (and take care of his health).
I was a Chris fan initially but when I really got to hear this man's voice (on youtube...the Richmond concert...my god he tore up "I love you more than you'll ever know") he just knocked me out...I was sold. I am actually a jazz freak.... I just LOVE listening to him.

Sherwood....OH,OH,OH....SO TRUE!!!
lindagt - March 24, 2007 03:16 PM (GMT)
From his interviews over the past couple of weeks - it's pretty clear that he just wants to make music that he is proud of and share it with others - hopefully they will love it too. I don't think he would be sad to be a big star and make lots of money - lol - but he would also be happy with modest success as long as he's happy about what he's producing.
One of the most touching things he said in his interview with JoJo last night - when asked what is the best and worst time to ask for an autograph - his answer was "there's no bad time - anytime - just ask"

I do believe Elliott is the sweetest person in the entire world. I really do!

Seriously, I think Elliott will be around much longer than Daughtry, which will probably die when people stop eating up Nickelback-clone rock.
Plus sales don't mean a thing down the road. Hello, Britney Spears anyone? :rotfl:

I really have nothing against Chris. His audience is completely different from Ellliott's so I really wish him success, too. Though I am a bit surprised his CD is doing so well..

I try not to mention the others, but sometimes in order to make a point it's hard not to. Katherine was on I think it was Kimmel a while back and I'm sorry she is not good at self promotion. Its just the way she comes across. Instead of helping sales, her cd dropped like a rock on Amazon. Elliott on the other hand if he stays grounded as he seems to have so far will really be able to promote his music as his tv appearances hopefully increase. I just would love to hear him mix it up however and sing something different at each tv performance. I know that goes against common practice, but E isn't common and I think It would create a bit of a buzz over his appearances.

Alkous - "my god he tore up "I love you more than you'll ever know") he just knocked me out. :rocker:
Being a from-the-start E, he-can-sing-anything fan, this song still amazed me. :thud:

My bad - forgot the fan after the E. And that's what I'll always be - the fan after the E!

I'm so glad that it's doing so well! I'm hearing radio commercials everytime I step into the car! I'm so busy I haven't got around to actually stepping into a store and buying it yet, but I'm definitely getting around to that as soon as possible. I've been watching the videos of the songs on YouTube to hold off until then. Anyways, I'm so excited for a second, third, and more and more albums!! :cheerleader:
