I got an email from my daughter this morning talking about Elliott's cd. I gave her a copy yesterday. She was never a fan, but never disliked him either.

Here is what she said about Wait for You and i AM SO PLEASED!



I really like this Wait For You song on Elliotts Cd. It is REALLY good and I have been listening to it over and over. i think that he is appealing not only to you "etrainers" but i think that he will also appeal to the rap and r&b crowd with this song (i am in that crowd, lol). He has a very nice r & b sound.


She is 22. It is GREAT to hear this age group loving it!

That's great Doxie! It's so great when you can FINALLY get them to listen and like it. My son finally listened to the entire CD and liked the contemporary songs too - he liked Movin On and Wait for You.

My 15-year-old niece has admitted that she likes Wait For You also. She has not been an Elliott fan in the past and she would roll her eyes whenever I talk about Elliott. So I consider it a major victory that she likes Wait For You!

Today i was playing the cd...... and leaving it on as i took kids to school hubby yells can u please tur n elliott off before u go.... Im like NOPE !!

I think this also tells us soemthing about the song Wait for You as a single.

I know some here did not think it a very good choice as a single. I think that we should be more confident in E's marketing team because I think that they have probably performed enough market research to know what is popular in style and what would sell.

I probably would not have picked Wait for You as the single. But I do think letting the people make those decisions who do it for a living is best. Most of the young people like Wait for YOu better than anything else on the CD>

Not to diss us older folks, but non Etrainers who will buy the CD the most are in that younger age group, and if they like Wait for You, as they seem too, then E's management made the absolutely best decision.

This CD is very young and contemporary. I like Wait For You...the chorus can even be for anyone waiting for their love. Not just the lyrics of the song. Like, if you have a loved one in Iraq or Afghanistan, you can say..."I will wait for you...I'll be waiting.".

Yesterday I heard Wait for You coming from my daughters bedroom. I ran into the office to vote at yes.com because I know she listens to Q94 here in Richmond. I waited and waited and it didn't show up so I went back to her room and complained about the delay at yes.com (we had noticed it before). She looked very sheepish and admitted that it wasn't the radio, she was listening to his CD! That's a biggie here at my house because she's not happy with my attention to Elliott and has always rebelled by saying that she doesn't care for him. She's 14 and apparently it's not cool to like the same music as your mother.

Wow, I guess I can start having a little more faith in my age group after all. Cool Dox!

LOL I'm in that age group too :) Elliott appeals to a wide-range of people.

I'm just a teenager but I've got a couple good comments from people about school about Elliott. 2 of them said they saw him on TRL, but they thought his teeth were weird and another said she saw him on the front page of iTunes and listened to his CD and said "It wasn't horrible". I didn't know whether or not to take that as a compliment (:lol: ) but it's better than nothing I guess!

Good for you trying to spread the E love hon! It is my experience with teenagers that when they say "it's not too horrible" that is sometimes all we cna hope for. LOL

Whenever i ask my son's opinion on something, he is barely 18, I always know if he is okay with it if he says something like "it's not too horrible"! :lol:

I have noticed a trend that young people who are E Fans tend to be a very intelligent and savvy group.

I guess that is because the type of young people attracted to an artist who should have been born 40 years ago are older then their years emotionally as well.

Yeah that is a compliment. LOL

And some of these teenagers here - whoa when i first found out some of them were teens i was blown away!

Well,just my own good guess,but I think E's first cd is gonna
hit the younger audience BIGTIME!!!!!!He's gonna be a major hit!!!!!

HA HA I just reported one generation's response. NOw let me give you my MOTHER"s response. She was Taylor all the way last season. She just couldn't get into E. She was one of those naysayers who didn't get the whole appearance (how did my mother get so superficial LOL). Well I just got HER email as she got her CD today. I mailed it on Monday and she just got it.

Here is what she said:

I got Elliott's cd. Thanks! It sounds great. I think his music is much better then on the show He should have a few hits off of that cd, i.e., Moving On, Train Wreck my two top pick prospects. They all sound good and he really has a good beat to his music. I can bee bop to it all. He needs to hit up all of the top djs nationwide and sell his goods to them. My view is get him on the circuits (t.v. shows) in front of as many people as possible and that does it best since he already has name/face recognition. You are a loyal fan for sure and he should be thankful for your efforts in getting him promoted. I am proud of you Missy. You have just uncovered one of the many talents you are capable of doing.

This is HUGE coming from her because she just wouldn't budge about him last yaer. I know what a huge Motown fan she was back in the day and I KNEW that is she HEARD this CD it wuold make a believer out of her. I knew she wouldn't buy it either so I just dropped a copy in the mail and voila! I knew she would love it!

I'll have to inform her that he is already doing the media promotion thing.

It's funny. I call the young people here "missy" a lot and reading her email made me realize i got it from her. I never realized that. :rotfl:

LOL and unless Elliott ages about 10 years and rocks out to a classic on a guitar, I can't convert him either! :)
