QUOTE
Timberlake, a former member of boy band 'N Sync, released his debut solo album, "Justified," in 2002. The album won a Grammy Award.

"I tried so hard to be an R&B artist and it was the pop album of the year. ... That's the last thing I wanted," Timberlake says. "But I was like, 'So everyone considers me a pop artist? ... I'm going to do whatever I want to do.' "

what does this have to do with Elliott?

I like some of the songs on his newest CD, but I really don't like that quote. I don't understand why he would say that. Most of those tracks are pop/techno dance songs....not R&B, JMO.

Okay, I don't really know much at all about Justin Timberlake, but the opinion I have formed from the quotes I have read here are: WHINER!

I love JT! and Elliott of course

Haha, that is pathetic. He is trying way too hard to be labeled as R&B. Some are just gifted and are given that status such as Elliott and others like Robin Thicke. I guess that's why he had Timbaland produce the majority of his album, to get that R&B sound. LOL, but he's still labeled as "pop." Haha, sorry Justin, but please stop trying to call yourself an R&B artist.

I like Justin, but if you read the full article, including the cursing, you would be disappointed.

This post really has nothing to do with Elliott, but I feel like I need to defend Justin here, so bare with me for a sec, lol! I think this quote is being taken the wrong way. I saw an interview with him a few months ago, and he said that when he FIRST started out he was so set on being an R&B artist. But after the reviews came out labeling it pop, he's come to accept the fact that he IS a pop artist. So yeah, I think it's being taken the wrong way...or maybe he didn't word it right this time. I've been a fan of JT for years, he's not as cocky as he's made out to be.

I saw that and laughed! Granted, I always liked NSync because I felt like they had some 'flava' to their style, but why would someone try their hardest to be an R&B artist. That screams poser. LOL
