Title: What Will You Do
Description: ...if Sanjaya wins?

nymphadora - April 5, 2007 05:31 AM (GMT)
Found this site and thought I'd post it here:

If Sanjaya wins...

BamBi_GuRL - April 5, 2007 12:12 PM (GMT)
That site made my comp freeze so I'm gonna check it out later using different comp :P

If Sanjaya wins I'll squee with delight.

The way some fans, the show and the media treat him disgust me. He DOES NOT deserve all this crap.

Rutti - April 5, 2007 12:27 PM (GMT)
I won't feel any differently than I did when Taylor won last year. I know this is not a popular opinion around here, but honestly, I feel Sanjaya has as much right to be the winner as Taylor did. Matter of fact, I think Sanjaya sings better than Taylor. Taylor wins in the "performance" category, but Sanjaya is coming along in that department, too. So, I won't do anything if Sanjaya wins - just say "good for him". But we all know Melinda is gonna win!! Yay!

PDXJon - April 5, 2007 12:53 PM (GMT)
I'd hate to be Sanjaya. Imagine living the rest of your life knowing that your name is associated with ridicule, farce, and the opposite of talent.

elliottfan78 - April 5, 2007 01:07 PM (GMT)
Never watch the show again

May10787 - April 5, 2007 01:12 PM (GMT)
If he wins I'd say, good for him. I actually like him. Not as a singer or a performer, just a young kid taking advantage of a great opportunity.

The prize isn’t that great anyway. Some like Melinda and Lakisha can do better on their own. I’m sure there are a lot of TPTB in the industry that are paying close attention to those two women. Same goes for a couple of the men performers, they can make it without an AI contract, how far is up to them.

Last year there was this one guy who blew everyone off the stage with his voice, and I heard he’s now blown a lot of the AI PTB out of their comfortable seats by negotiating a really smart indie deal.

mombell - April 5, 2007 02:02 PM (GMT)
i think that is what should happen at this point, the show and 19 have created this and they should have to deal with this...i do feel so sad for sanjaya but he did sign on to a contract that says if there is anything you have to pick at, they will...all for fame...(in the wrong way)...so sad

Elliottfan27 - April 5, 2007 02:41 PM (GMT)
What makes this different from any other year that we've had this kind of drama?

Need I remind you of Scott Savol, Kevin Covis?

I just read ratings are down like 7% this week. It'll catch up to them.

If Sanjaya wins, I'll laugh.

The others will prosper if it's meant to be.

Look at E.

Then they should take a long look at their voting problems and redo the system.

Is that a fact? LOL

I feel sorry for Sanjaya in that he is being ridiculed by VFTW at no fault of his own and he's just a kid.

ElliottisTrueBlue - April 5, 2007 06:40 PM (GMT)
I wouldn't care really. Not anymore.

I do in a way feel bad for him because of all the negative media around him. However, he can't sing and really shouldn't even be in the top 24. I think the judges finally realize they made a bad decision by putting him through Hollywood. I love the website and found that the other day and passed it along to my friends. I think a lot of people would give up on AI if Sanjaya won. I know I would.

shatner8 - April 5, 2007 10:11 PM (GMT)
If Sunjaya wins, I will first clap, and then I will cry for poor Sunjaha and the crappy contract he will be forced to sign

American idol will be forced to change this crappy voting pattern which will be for the best
Elliott was sooo lucky

katirpet - April 5, 2007 10:40 PM (GMT)
I agree. I feel sorry Sanjaya because it is not his fault. However, He did sign on for this. The ones that have the talent will be picked up by TPTB.. I absolutely despise Howard Stern and his ilk for dashing the hopes and dreams of the kids that have already had to leave. Whatever it means, they wanted and deserved to get farther in the competition.

May10787 - April 6, 2007 12:00 AM (GMT)
Does anyone think that changing the age limit from say 18 to 30 would make a difference. Personally I've always thought that 16 for anyone (even with incredible talent) was to young to be put under the pressure of any of the Idol franchises.

Maybe older contestents would attract a slightly more studious and older audience, and not as many of the pre-teens or teens who by natures design often make decisions based on their awakening hormones.

Not to say that all young teens or pre-teens do, but many.

mombell - April 6, 2007 12:23 AM (GMT)
i also think it should be 18-30 for that same reason...

dtrowbridge - April 6, 2007 03:09 AM (GMT)
Actually, I think the younger kids handle the pressure better. Look at Kevin, Lisa and Paris. No tears, just acceptance. They have their whole futures ahead of them and plenty of time to "make it".

It's the 24+er's that are getting to the point the have to make it or else. Time isn't on their side anymore for a music career.

So, Gina, Chris S, Elliott, Taylor.....these are the one's who needed it and wanted it more. They are also the one's who understand music better, and have more discernment of what is real and what is AI BS...which can really tic you off if you understand the game.

If Sanjaya wins AI will sign Melinda, Jordin and possibly Blake and Chris (yeck!) They will make a big deal out of Melinda. Just like last year....Daughtry is the real winner, Elliott and Kat are tied for second and Taylor really is 4th.

AI will survive, they will probably learn to make a better cast...copy AI5 and get the stereotypes back.

You know what really irks me about Howard Stern is that he's dissing AI but yet he makes, what $83 million, for being a jerk (stating it nicely) on his talk show. So, what is the difference? Oh yea, the contestants on AI have some level of talent. What does Stern have other than a big mouth? I apologize to any Stern fans out there.

DoxieChickLuvsE - April 6, 2007 01:04 PM (GMT)
UGH Howard Stern is just totally revolting. Just hearing his voice makes me cringe, and i apologize to any of his fans.

BUT YUK.

If Sanjaya wins I think he'll have a nice little stint on TRL with some young goofy video, his voice will probably sound okay in the studio and he'll come out with a sappy love song CD the young girls will love, and he will enjoy his fame before he becomes yesterdays news. LOL

I give him one year after the show ends to enjoy his fame and then he'll be done. He won't have much staying power because most teeny bopper sensations don't. JT was the execption.

courtie59 - April 6, 2007 02:04 PM (GMT)
If Sanjaya wins I'd be both happy and sad for him at the same time...
I really feel sorry for this kid, with all the slack he has to take!

He won't win. I'm certain of it. He'll be out before the top 4.

Rutti - April 7, 2007 12:04 AM (GMT)
Yep, in Season 5 we had Scott Savol and Kevin Covias. But even worse was Season 4 with John Stevens - remember him? The red headed crooner who, IMO, had no voice. He stayed around all the way to top 4 didn't he? Wasn't he still in there when Jennifer Hudson got the boot? He wasn't sensational like Sanjaya is - just a nice young, freckle-faced kid with not much talent and a lot of fans voting for him.

DC he will be the new Aaron Carter :rotfl:

If I was Sanjaya I could make some money off of defamation lawsuits from vftw, and Howard Stern and all those other folks humiliating him. They all scream they have the 1st amendment to say these things. Well, Sanjaya has the defamation of character angle to pursue them.

If American Idol was smart they could take this approach to shut those people up too.

He might of signed up for American Idol, but he didn't sign up to be humiliated like they are doing to him.

EFRAYM_ELLIOTT_YAMIN - April 7, 2007 01:24 PM (GMT)
A very nice site.....lol

ECrazy3 - April 7, 2007 03:33 PM (GMT)
It is a little sad to see such sites as this one and others treating him so rudely. But he doesn't seem to be having any problems with it, so I'm not going to get incredibly upset in his defense.

If Sanjaya wins, I'll wish him all the best, and I'll hope he does more of the "You Really Got Me" sound - he was actually really good singing that, IMO!

pilatesmom - April 8, 2007 02:59 AM (GMT)
In light of serious stuff in the world like children being abducted in Uguanda into mitiltia soldiers, so they have to walk miles every night to be protected.

I really don't care!

Anyway, if it were between Sanaya and McPhee, you better bet that I would be speed dialing for Sanaya!

I think the producers are loving this!$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Well I am a Stern fan and yes he has lured me to the dark side of actually voting for Sanjaya this week.

How is the first one to admit he is a prick.
He has been watching and talking about AI for years... listen the truth is...
Sanjaya is no dummy young or not he is calculating in his every choice form his hair, to song choice, to reaction to the judges... and THAT is what Howard has picked up on...the sheer audacious showmanship and allure....

Have no fear --

indeed, cling to Buzz Lightyears words of wisdom ...

“This isn’t flying. This is falling with style!”

junker3 - April 20, 2007 04:22 PM (GMT)
sanjaya is good, but not good enough, and since he got voted off, he can't win. so there!
