Title: Mtv And Vh1 Vote By A Different Method
Description: Play Elliott Videos on Their Websites

I've voted to exhaustion during the past week and I haven't seen that my efforts have done much good. When polls don't show results it's impossible to know if they are legitimate or what you are up against.

Here's the tactic I will be using from now on. If we want to show how popular Elliott is, we just have to keep his videos on their websites constantly active. They surely keep track of how many hits each artist gets. Here are the links to go directly to Elliott's video. Send the links to everyone who you think might be will to take a look. And just go to the pages over and over again. What could be more pleasant that hearing Elliott in the background while you are doing other things on the web?

VH1 direct link to the video:

MTV direct link to the video

http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/yamin__elliott/artist.jhtml

Hee hee, you can open them both at the same time and hear Elliott singing with himself. :rotfl:

I think this is a great idea too!

Do you think it counts if you leave it as a tab in background and it plays over and over? I got distracted and that's exactly what happened. What do you think?

I was wondering the same thing. It would depend on what statistics they use. But even if it doesn't count you're listening to great music while you're doing other things. Some sites keep track of how much time each hit stays on a page. Others may be interested in how many unique URL's visit the page. That's why I suggest you send the link to others or even use it in your signature (which is what I think I'll do right now--never bothered to make one before)--I hope it worked.

I set my DVR for the videos on VH1 and MTV and then quickly flip through them in the morning. This morning I noticed something that I had mostly ignored before. Nestled in after the commercials and before the start of the next segment, VH1 flashes a screen called Jump Start. Sometimes they list the top selling albums. At other times they list 5 artists most visited on their web site. It sure would be nice to see Elliott's name up there with Tim McGraw and Akon.

And all we have to do is jump to his page throughout the day. Playing the video has got to help too.
