I received my tickets on Wednesday!!!!! :rocker: I was in SHOCK that they came soo soon since I ordered them on Sunday. :thud: I want to go to more Elliott concerts :unsure:, BUT since all of the CA shows are in the same week and I'm most likely going to a Keith Urban concert in SJ with a friend in the same week :eyebrows:...well I don't think my job is going to be very happy lol...BUT we'll see lol... :lol:

HI EVERYONE,This is the first time I have ever been to Slims for a concert,but from what I heard Slims holds around 500 people!I understand this is a STANDING ROOM ONLY CONCERT!For the first 30 people they do have dinner tickets and seats?I don't think this is a very big club?Slims also told me they don't know about cameras right now?They will only know if cameras are allowed on the day of the concert,so they told me just bring your camera to the concert and if cameras are not allowed they told me its not the end of the world.They will take the camera and you may pick it up after the concert!I think ELLIOTT will let cameras in because ELLIOTT likes to smile and ELLIOTT likes to PIMP HIS GRILL!ELLIOTT IS DA MAN!ELLIOTT IS DA BOMB!!ELLIOTT IS DA FUNKY WHITE BOY!!! :etrain: 4 LIFE!!!

Sorry Ging we aren't staying at a hotel and we are staying outside of San Francisco since we live 2 hours north of SF. So I can't be of much help there.

Hey guys, for those of you who haven't been to Slim's, I'll describe it a bit. The dinner seats are in the back of the venue, and the main space is the open (no chairs) floor which is first come, first serve regarding where you stand. For the last show I saw there, we got there good and early, and I got to see the entire show leaning on the front of the stage! The dinner seats are good if you think you are going to want to sit, but they are the furthest from the stage. Most people want to stand!

Regarding cameras, according to Slim's website, their policy is the band's policy: if the band allows them, Slim's allows them, but if the band doesn't allow them, then Slim's doesn't. The last band I saw there allowed cameras and recorders, but I guess we'll just have to see what Elliott and his band will allow.

MY IDOL ELLIOTT, you're right, Slim's is small. I would have thought the floor held only about 300, but maybe you're right and it's 500, definitely no more! However, this is NOT a reflection on the amount of people Elliott could bring in--think quality over quantity! Slim's is owned by Boz Scaggs and only the COOLEST bands get to play there! Every band I've seen there has been rockin'! Slim's has a very cool, groovy, cozy, rockin' feel to it, and Elliott's voice is a perfect fit for this place! Plus, you'll get to see him up close, even in the dinner seats. Trust me, though, if you can stand, you'll want to be standing squashed up with everybody else!

Can you tell that I'm excited Elliott is going to play at Slim's? :D That fact that he is going to be there is HUGE for him! Instant street cred!

Thanks wee moggie for the info on the Slim's set up. I got dinner tickets since my hubby is coming and he'll want to sit. I'm glad to hear its in the back because many times up front is way to loud for him and bothers his hearing. Sounds good that we'll still get to see him up close. OOOOH now I can't wait. We need to make buttons or something with our Etrain names on them so we can identify each other. CHLOOOOOOE we need your expertise. How big could we make them?

I don’t know any of these places, but if we want to meet up prior to the show, I suggest we select one of these places, call-ahead to reserve a table, and meet up at around 6pm. (Show starts at 8pm.)

PDX do you know what time the doors open at Slim's? We have dinner tickets and I haven't the time yet. It doesn't seem to be posted or on my tickets.

PDX I don't know anything about any of the places you looked at. The only one that might be good is the Mars Bar that has an outdoor patio if we could reserve that. It might be quieter out there so we could talk to each other. Other than that, I have NO IDEA.

I think what I'll do is call a couple of hotels in downtown SF, pretend I'm an upcoming guest, and ask them what restaurant/bars near Slim's that they would recommend. I'll let you know what I find out.
