I just found out that Elliott will be singing the NA at the Brewer's game on Saturday.
He did an interview from LA to our local station and said that they are trying to fit it into his schedule because he :elliottcap: really likes baseball (Do you think?:rotfl:) and would like to see the fancy stadium that the team plays in.
I guess that means that I'll have to go to my first baseball game in 25 years! I have to try to snag tickets at this late date! Our medical students are staging a softball game on the same afternoon and are giving away tickets to anyone who attends their game.:cheerleader1:
First the game then the concert - I'll be in heaven! I can hardly WAIT FOR YOU, E!
Lookin4Trouble - May 27, 2007 04:36 PM (GMT)
I am driving from Minneapolis. I know....he will be in Mpls. on the 3rd; however, it is an 18+ venue. That would mean that my 17 year old would not be able to get in. She loves him about as much as I do, so I could not do that to her. So, we are making a little road trip out of it. We are so excited!
MammaMia2mks - May 28, 2007 04:03 AM (GMT)
Four of us are coming from Chicago.can't wait. And he said he will try on his second leg of the tour to get to Chicago, which was cancelled before. So I may get to see him again. :rocker:
KellieLovesE - May 31, 2007 03:25 AM (GMT)
Its getting closer!!! :awe:
And I hope he comes to St. Louis on the second leg so I can see him again! That would be amazing!
KellieLovesE - June 1, 2007 02:15 PM (GMT)
OMG, I can't believe its TOMORROW!!! :thud:

Attended the Milwaukee concert and it was absolutely amazing. Really high energy crowd with a club-like atmosphere. SOLD OUT - approx 1,345 people. Josh Hoge did a great job and was well received by the crowd. Elliott's set was amazingly high energy and his voice was in great shape although he seemed somewhat weary. After the show, Elliott signed autographs and I finally got to MEET HIM! He is as wonderfully gracious as everyone said. I told him I loved the concert, congratulated him on his success, and said to take care of himself as he looked weary. He said he was and thanks for mentioning it. So thoughtful! And he signed the insert for my Elliott Yamin CD. Fabulous night. :thud: :thud: :thud:

Thanks for the recap yammerin!! So happy you were able to meet him! :woohoo:

I also went to Milwaukee. Met a mom along with five 8th grader girls and a teacher. The girls had made T-shirts with pics of E on the back, and each one had a letter from his last name on the front. They took the tour of the theature during the day. I saw a poster that said the lower level held about 600. My friends had been there for Taylor's concert and they were on the 3rd level, which they said was terrible and could not hear a thing. Elliott only had the lower level for tickets. They saw Elliott briefly and he said he would be back after the show and would meet them by the bus. Josh was on first and showed us his whiskey and talked about Elliott. Sang a few songs that were ok but I was too afraid he was going to fall of the stool to pay too much attention to the songs. Then Elliott came out and rocked the house. During a couple songs he would turn to the wings and point to Jamie. I found this endearing but my friends thought it took away from his presentation. I too thought he looked drained and towards the end was running out of steam, but still enjoyed it tremendously. I was with 3 other AI fans but they are not CRAZY for E like I am but wanted to support him. So after the show I got in line for an autograph and they went and stood by the booth and took pics of Elliott for me. That is what I should have done. with about 50 people left to see him they hustled him off to the bus, Where the 5 girls with the T-shirts were standing now waiting for him. My friends saw Josh in the lobby lifting his shirt for some girl to lick his nipples. The 5 girls with the T-shirts saw him and asked him to sign their shirts. I saw what he wrote :" Avoid the CLAP" , Nice one Josh..the mom was mortified ,she had to scratch it off with the marker. So we wait by the bus maybe 15 of us still hoping to meet Elliott. We can see him in the bus eating , which I am sure he needed to do at that time , blood sugar levels and all. The bus sat there for another 45 mins to an hr. The girls in their now messed up T-shirts that they spent 3 days making, still waiting. Elliott owes me nothing. I enjoyed seeing him live. He has an awesome voice. But for the future of his image, maybe he should watch what is going on around him. :(

yikes..... not a good picture of Mr. Hoge there. Was he inebriated? Not good, not good. And I've heard of PDAs, but, come on!
After the Cleveland incident, expect access to be curtailed. Sad, but true.
Really, someone should have alerted him that there was a group of teenagers to meet him. They are some of the most dedicated fans around, and have the time for efforts in polling, calling, voting, etc. If you make a teenager a fan, you have a fan for life.
Did he have 600 or 1300 people? Interesting comparsion of numbers there.
mominny - June 3, 2007 11:10 PM (GMT)
Not a good image for Josh Hoge at all........I don't like to hear recaps like that.
I am sorry the little girls did not meet Elliott, but it happens. His access has been incredible - not normally what is done. I did not get to meet him in NY, but I could have. I just wanted to leave well enough alone plus work the next day.
God..the guy works so hard in the show, I dazzles my mind that he has the energy to meet anyone.

Yep - sounds like Josh may have had a little too much Jack - as young men sometimes do when they are on tour - and forgot he was performing an all ages show. I've kind of gotten the feeling all along that he was reining in his act a bit for this tour. Also too sad about those girls - either someone promised something they couldn't deliver or they heard an "I'll try to get them signed out by the bus" as a promise. This is unfortunate - but I'm not naive enough to believe that there are not negative things that happen. Unfortunately they just must - it would be unnatural if everything worked out perfectly.
Like I said once before - it will be impossible to meet the desires of all the fans on this tour for meet and greets - and expectations have been set maybe a bit unrealistically. Most artists don't even try to do this. Maybe this is the reason - someone always ends up disappointed.
However, of all the things Elliott has to do and think about right now, policing his opening act is certainly not one of them. Someone on his team should have been (and probably was) paying attention and will deal with it however needs to happen.

This is from one of the ladies that went with me.
Mar,
Just wanted to say I totally enjoyed this weekend. It was a real pleasure to spend time hanging with you and Becky. I signed onto the etrain, but can't figure out how to find what you wrote. Also, I posted my own notice--not as a complaint about Elliott, but I guess, as a mom. I really think he needs to watch out who he hangs out with. The younger folks might not mind the drunken and lewd behavior of his friends, but the middle-aged set certainly does. As a matter of fact, the young people that were there yesterday looked pretty wholesome as well, and may not appreciate that kind of atmosphere either. I just want him to be careful so he doesn't lose all he's worked for. He's worked too hard, and deserves it too much to lose this opportunity.
The bad part is, I'm not even technologically-savvy enough to find my own message! Let me know if there's any feedback to it. Talk soon, MJ

This is a fair comment and I do understand that Josh and Elliott have talked a lot about how well they get along - but honestly Josh is Elliott's opening act. I've seen a ton of shows where the opening act really had little connection to the headliner - they were certainly not considered a reflection of them. Each act should stand on its own merit. And really - boys do misbehave sometimes. I have seen Josh perform twice and seen him after show both times and he was a perfect gentleman all those times. He attended an after concert function in Richmond with the Etrain and he was great. He's really a great guy - but sounds like he had a bad night.
I agree that this behavior sounds really inappropriate for the underage people. I also understand that this is not attractive behavior to some older people either - but I guess I just don't let that stuff bother me. This is just me - but I expect a little rowdy behavior at a concert.
ohioguy45780 - June 3, 2007 11:36 PM (GMT)
as you can guess, it doesn't bother me...welcome to the world of rock stars and celebrity!! LOL We boys will be boys, and that's just the way it is.
Be careful over-Idolizing anyone, and expecting too much. As someone wise on this board has said, "overexpectations are just disappointments waiting to happen".
Lookin4Trouble - June 4, 2007 12:37 AM (GMT)
I too went to the concert. I didn't see Josh's behavior, but he was drinking on the stage. So I would not be surprised if he had overindulged. My daughter and I had to leave before Elliott came out to sign autographs. She wasn't feeling well so we headed back to the hotel. It is unfortunate that this happened, but in all honesty I didn't even expect that Elliott was going to come out and sign anything. Elliott seemed very tired while performing. (though I was not disappointed in his show at all- just something I noticed) I thought it was very gracious of him to take the time especially seeing as they would be traveling to Mpls. for tonight's show. (My daughter and I came from Mpls. as she is not old enough to attend the concert in MN)
It was a great show that Elliott put on! We were very happy that we went.
And no, you can not judge him by his opening act. What happened doesn't make me disappointed in Elliott, but in Josh.
I wanted to meet Elliott, but it just wasn't my time to do so. Some day....
I saw Jaime(sp?) several times. She is a gorgeous girl and she seemed happy and supportive. Elliott looked off a couple of times to the side of the stage, but I did not find it distracting in the least bit. (We were about row 6-yeah!) He definitely, in my opinion, was putting his energy towards the crowd and performing for us.

I dont know what to think
ohioguy45780 - June 4, 2007 01:32 AM (GMT)
As a past student of law, I want to advise everyone that what you are writing is hearsay, potentially a case of defamation of Josh Hoge. It has also run counter to reports elsewhere that he was not drinking anything more than water and that he was good to the fans. Be cautious and choose your words carefully, because your statements could be seen as idle gossip or damaging to him personally. As an open forum, anyone can read these posts.
I am not trying to stifle comment, OR telling you what to say (feel free) but giving everyone a heads-up that your postings may come back to haunt you, and that you are responsible for their content. Thanks.
Lookin4Trouble - June 4, 2007 01:51 AM (GMT)
I hope that my comment did not come off as a negative one. I was actually trying to counteract what I felt seemed like negative comments about his show.
My daughter and I left the theatre very happy. He is as awesome as I had thought he would be.
As far as Josh, I didn't see the act that they spoke of and I can not say anything about that. All I can say is Josh lifted his drink and said what he was drinking. It wasn't an assumption it was something he shared. But I will leave it at that. And quite frankly, I don't want this to a negative thread because I enjoyed the show immensely. I would see Elliott again in a heartbeat! In fact, if I hadn't been so tired myself from driving the trip from Mpls to Milwaukee and back again I would have tried to see Elliott's show tonight as well. I don't know how he's doing it!
It was cute, when he came out to sing A Song For You (which was beautiful!) he was telling his story about choosing the song for his tryout. On this little show...American Idol. Someone in the crowd yells out, You should have won. To which there was a burst of applause from the crowd and a big smile on Elliott's face. He appreciated the comment but felt that there are different ways of winning. He says, 3 is the new 1.
I love it. And I adore him.
yammerin2 - June 4, 2007 01:56 AM (GMT)
Regarding the numbers in attendance at Milwaukee, I took the 1345 number from the capacity of the Pabst Theater on their website. If indeed Elliott only used the main floor and not the two (high) balconies, the crowd would have been smaller. Apologies - I did not intend to mislead anyone. Whatever - it was indeed SOLD OUT as a was leaving the box office when someone was told no tickets remained.
ohioguy45780 - June 4, 2007 02:18 AM (GMT)
well, if Mr. Hoge admitted on stage he was drinking, that's another thing altogether. Pretty stupid, as well.... in Ohio, open containers are NOT allowed on stage. If Wisconsin is the same, and many states are, it would be a crime to drink on stage.
This was my main concern , that one could potentially be openly accussing someone of a crime. That's a pretty hefty consequence for a small internet forum posting!!
I just wanted to warn everyone to choose their words carefully, and qualify their statements appropriately.
In a PM to me, someone thought he was "only drinking water". This goes to show that what you see is a matter of interpretation, regardless of fact.
callalou - June 4, 2007 02:27 AM (GMT)
As far as Josh Hoge goes, I went to the NYC show and personally, I don't care for him. He was definitely drinking on stage because he asked the audience for a drink and someone brought it for him and I meet him after the show and did not care for him, very immature. After my experience, I believe what is being said about him. After Elliott's first tour, I really don't think Josh will be opening for him, especially if this stuff keeps happening. What I don't understand is wasn't this show 18+, so why were there such young girls there? I am not making excuses for him, just wondering. But personally, don't care for him.........and he isn't all that great of a performer either...........sorry, but true
MammaMia2mks - June 4, 2007 04:20 AM (GMT)
As to the age and drinking at this concert. I think it is treated like a ball game. It IS Milwaukee , home of Millers Beer. The waitresses walk up and down the aisle and you can order drinks. Didn't mean to get everyone all upset. Just stating what I SAW. I enjoyed Elliott and, like I said, I do not expect anything more than a good show when I buy a ticket. And I certainly got that. :etrain:
christina - June 4, 2007 04:55 AM (GMT)
I went to the Starland ballroom show, which was his 3rd show. Josh performed a very good set. I did not see him drinking on the stage or afterwards. He seemed very polite and eager to meet fans. I didn't observe any inappropriate behavior. The Nj show was an all age venue. Maybe he just had an "off " night. Elliott's live performance was what I was there for and I was not dissappointed!!! :hot:

If the "balconies" were anything like the one in Detroit, your numbers still must be pretty close. Only Jamie, her family & 2 or maybe 3 others ( with passes) were allowed on the balcony. It didn't look as it could hold more than 100 people at best. The capacity for the whole Hall was only 400. You're numbers made me feel a WHOLE lot better, I was kind of, no--really, disapointed in Detroit's turnout. Elliott deserved a much bigger crowd! There wasn't much advertising for the Concert up here, and even after e-mailing and calling several radio stations to let them know about the concert....only 1 (that I found anyway) put Elliott's concert on their event and concert listings on their web sites. It didn't seem to bother Elliott though...he still gave 20000% and besides, wasn't he singing "just for me"??? :awe: :rotfl:
So short story long.....I'll take your number!! :rocker: And I really thank you for posting!! I love the words.....SOLD OUT!
harleywoman - June 4, 2007 11:53 AM (GMT)
I agree with Lindaqt and OG's comments. I just want to say whether Josh is actually drinking or wants us to think he is, it's his "act" which he's done at every concert since the Birchmere. He's really a nice guy who spent time with us E-Trainers after the show in Richmond. He does likes to kid around and joke a lot.
Ever go to one of your favorite places in your hometown to listen to one of your local bands and see them NOT drink on stage. Josh is not the first and won't be the last if he is. I was watching Blue Comedy Tour, Ron White, was drinking on TV while he performed.
Anyway, these guys, Josh, Steve, Elliott and his band are working their tails off right now. It's got to be hard on them especially when it's hot at the venue.
BTW, can't lump all of us "middle-aged set" in the same basket. :rocker:
callalou - June 4, 2007 02:54 PM (GMT)
In NYC, Elliott did not drink on stage until the last song (ASFY) and he took a sip of beer. The whole night he drank water. Does it matter if anyone is drinking on stage or not, no not really, unless you get sloshed and start having fans licking your nipples and writing CLAP on teenagers shirts. If that's what happened...........its tacky and classless. Drinking is fine, but when you start acting like an a.....hole, like I said......tacky and classless. You would NEVER see Elliott act that way. Do I think this is a reflection on Elliott, ABSOLUTELY NOT. this is all a new experience for him.
