Thanks for the update. Do you know what he needs to sell in order to be considered a "force"?

Do you know how this compares with Kellie's, Bucky's, Taylor's, and Kat's sales? Again, just wondering. Just want our boy to do well.

Anybody know how he did in Canada?

I'd be curious too :) That question always seems to go through my head too, but I never can remember "where" I saw the last posting on it or "Where" that "ONE of many" printouts IS in my huge pile of " Elliott pages I've wanted to save" PILE.

This is week #2 or #3? AWESOME!! Thanks for the news!!

Just a mini-tidbit I found on a site called Idol Worship. Old news, but still interesting.

Yamin’s record sold over 90,000 copies in its first week. To put this in perspective, he sold about 20,000 more than Kellie Pickler did during her first week, and about 15k fewer than runner-up Katharine McPhee.

Oooh, another tidbit from the American Idol Worship site. Posted on May 3rd by "Claymate."

Here’s the weekly American Idol sales report:

5-7 last week Daughtry (49,000; 2.36 million total): Daughtry is top Idol dog again, netting a two-point chart jump despite a 7% sales decline week to week.
Carrie (44,000; 5.33 milion total): Carrie Underwood was nearly even with last week, possibly thanks to the Idol special, which gave her a huge boost in the digital songs arena..
Bucky (23,000; 84,000 total): Big drop of 62%, especially compared with the country album that entered the chart last week just behind Bucky Covington, by Martina McBride - it dropped just 33% in its second week and stayed in the top 10. That indicates Bucky’s fan base went out and bought the album as soon as possible; further sales are likely to come in much smaller weekly increments.
Elliott Yamin (9,100; 173,000 total): Off a fairly normal 13%, but unless something dramatic happens, we can forecast a ceiling of around 300,000 for this album. Not, considering all the factors, that that’s a bad thing by any means.
Kellie Pickler (6,400; 512,000 total): Despite the chart improvement, it was down 1% in sales, but that’s not bad at all at this stage.
Fantasia (5,800; 357,000 total): Enjoying a late resurgence of sorts (up 18% this week), perhaps attributable to The Color Purple publicity?
Katharine McPhee (5,600; 311,000 total): Drops 19% in sales and takes a dive on the chart, and Over It didn’t really become the kind of across-the-board pop hit she needed.
Off the chart:

Taylor Hicks sold 1,700 (2,000 the previous week) for a total of 673,000. Ruben Studdard sold 1,000 (down from 1,200) for a total of 223,000. Clay Aiken sold 600 (same as the last couple of weeks) and is at 509,000. Kelly Clarkson sold 5,900 (up from 4,900 and enough to rank around No. 129 on the chart if it weren’t ineligible by Billboard rules). Her total is 5.7 million.

About the comment of a 300,000 ceiling for this album...

Not that I would complain if those were the final numbers
BUT...do they include foreign sales?

And we can't discount what an appearance on American Idol might do. If he sings WFY (and blows America away...once again!!) sales will most likely increase.

I am hoping with that appearance it will spark a whole new interest and boost sales to the 1 million mark. If the single takes off it could really happen.

I wanted Elliott to sell 500,000..just so he could get GOLD.
But for an INDIE label....he's shaking up the industry..I'll bet.
300,000 is like GOLD if it's INDIE label.
