Her license was suspended for driving drunk, and then she flaunted the law by driving anyway? She, who can afford to catch a cab anytime, or hire a personal driver, should have her ass nailed to the jailhouse floor.
As for her mother . . . give your head a shake; your daughter could have killed someone.

What's really messed up about this situation is that California jails are so overcrowded that they are having to release sex offenders and even murderers almost daily. If it were you or me (or anyone else) who had done what Paris Hilton did we/they would never get jail time. The judge is trying to score political points by sending her to jail. The woman who played Ana Lucia on Lost had a prior record and did the same thing Paris Hilton did and she served all of 2 hours before being let go.
Paris is so afraid of a guard taking her picture while on the toilet that she didn't eat or drink for 3 days and the sheriff sent her home to house arrest because she was so sick from dehydration that he was afraid she would die. A picture of her is worth half a million dollars...and prison guards don't make much money.
Celebrities shouldn't get special treatment...and in this case, she is being treated far more severely than everyone else gets treated for the same crime.
Drunk driving is a horrible thing for anyone to do...I think everyone agrees about that. I also think everyone agrees that Paris is a spoiled brat. Being a spoiled brat isn't punishable by jail time, though...and it's ignorant that the sheriff has to let a dangerous and violent criminal get out early so the media and public can congratulate each other that a spoiled rich girl gets sent to jail for something no one else ever goes to jail for.

I have to disagree with ya on this one LC, about her getting severe treatment, that is. She violated her probation, TWICE, that lands ANYONE jail time, celebrity or not.

Agreed. I don't think Paris is being treated unfairly at all.
