Title: A Different Kinda Of Song...with A Huge Message
Description: And it can't be played on "public" radio

Nana2160 - May 9, 2007 05:04 AM (GMT)
This was sent to me via an Email from a friend...I don't know if the link will work, but I wanted to share this absolutely beautiful song with all of the American Etrainers who may happen to still believe there truly is a "GOD!" Our creator, who has so sadly been banned from our schools, our government and even our radio's...IN GOD WE STILL TRUST...Please take a listen

I hope posting this won't offend anyone...

In March, 2005, this song was performed at a Diamond Rio concert. They received an immediate standing ovation, and continue to do so every time they perform it! Sadly, major radio stations wouldn't play it because it was considered politically incorrect. Consequently, the song was never released to the public. If this song speaks to your heart, share it with friends and loved ones. Then let us cease being the silent majority and join together -- not as a particular political party, but as Americans!

(I hope this works)

I don't think it's accurate to say that this song was "politically incorrect" and that's why it didn't get airplay.
What stations were they trying to be heard on?
If it was country...country eats that stuff up.
I don't have sound on my comp so I can't hear it. I wonder who is saying that they weren't played because of the lyrics?

I am also in a quandry as to why this song was not released.
It does not make sense that it was not politically correct. Most country music stations play music with homage to God.
However, with that being said, I do agree that our government is trying to take away from us any mention of God in our public institutions and that is such a mistake. The majority of peoples who came to this country worshiped God in one fashion or another and this country was founded with principals of fairness and love for everyone.
I truly feel sorry for those who have not found God. He is there waiting for each and every one of us to recognize Him. In my younger years I was very apathetic about religion and almost intolerant of it. Many years ago, when my back was against the wall, I realized how stupid I had been. God was there for me as He had always been. I just needed to recognize Him. He is loving, faithful and totally awesome. Everything in life is a gift from God. Even the hard times.
So, no, the song does not offend me at all. I love it when people recognize how spectacular God is to our lives.

We all love Elliott for bringing "good music" back to the industry... :serenade: :music:

It is a shame that some of the horrific music played today is accepted on the airways...BUT a song with beautiful lyrics and strong message is banned because of the word "GOD"...I guess I am just confused and don't understand who makes these "decisions"...It is OK to sing about sex, drugs, murder, and totally outragous things...using mentally deranged lyrics and these song writers/vocalists receive awards for their works/performance! :dunno:

Maybe I'm just too old and will NEVER understand...But I do know onething for sure...I will always stand by our man!!! :glomp:

He makes this West End Nana one very proud E mama!

Nana, I don't know what happened with Diamond Rio. My husband said he'd heard the song on television. I do want to say, that Jesus, take the wheel was a big hit.
I love the song "Believe" by Brooks and Dunn. I cried the first few times I heard it.
There's the song "Watching You"..about a little boy learning to pray.
And, Elliott, in "Find A Way" sings :
"And when the end comes God forgive me
For everything I've said and done"
I wish I understood what happened to Diamond Rio, there's nothing offensive about the lyrics and it can't just be God in the lyrics.

I wish I could hear it, dialup loser here. Its just preaching to the choir in my case anyway, but some songs with Christian overtones are successful on secular radio. How far is heaven comes to mind.

personally........i hate songs like this... reminds my of toby keith and all his crappy tunes...........

I think the song wasn't played simply because it didn't take off...the tune and tempo are pretty ho-hum. There's nothing wrong with the lyrics, and they were probably an excuse.
