Title: Less Obvious Places For The Music

There are so very many places to put Elliott's music where it would be appropriate - especially since some of the songs are so inspirational.

In one of my many lives - I am a (very) part time MaryKay lady - they have a huge convention every year in Dallas, where more than 50,000 women attend classes, awards events and motivational meetings. I emailed the special events staff to recommend that they add Elliott's "Free" to their music(which plays constantly) In addition to this annual convention, there are a couple of dozen smaller, similar conferences all over the country each year.

This was the response:

Thank you so much for sending this song suggestion in to us. I looked
it up on iTunes and love it. You never know when it might turn up at a
Mary Kay event. Thanks again!

Think of the out of the way places that Elliott's music can go--(by the way, I am sure he would be paid to have his music placed in such a venue)

This is a VERY good idea for a thread.

Well, I remembered that the publishing deal was to help him make money by having his music "placed" into appropriate vehicles - and sometimes we know about and have influence over some of these things, but forget that we do.

I was listening to Elliott's music today..especially the love songs. I was thinking how perfect they were for a wedding reception. I remember when my daughter got married..we spent hours online planning every last detail. That was a few years ago..but there are tons of wedding sites..where they are looking for suggestions for wedding music. Elliott is perfect.
I was also thinking how "One Word" would be appropriate to release now too..because of the June weddings coming up. If they hear it on the radio..they will want this for their song.
Maybe Bridal Fairs..would be a place to have Elliott's music?

That's a great idea - and many Brides now create a "wedding cd" as a gift for their guests - some of Elliott's songs would be perfect - and perfect for the Wedding DJ's also.

So - for example - if you know a wedding planner, maybe you could ask for suggestions on how to get Elliott into the whole "wedding music" thing - but if music is being given away - hopefully it will be bought - not burned....(unless it is bought first)

That's true, Linda. Contact wedding planners is a good idea. I loved your idea of contacting Mary Kay..and to get such a good response.
I went into a restaurant last year and asked them to play Elliott and they told me they had a license with a commercial radio station..and could not play requests.
I also think Elliott's dance music is perfect for working out, gyms.
I wanted to add...I gifted Elliott's CD to my dentist. She played while I was there. I hope she continues to play it. :)

Gyms are another great idea! Wonder who makes those tapes that fitness instructors use in the various classes?

I was shopping with my daughter when all of a sudden, I heard this fabulous voice singing an upbeat song! I got really excited and squeaked out "yeah"! This young gentleman gave me a weird look but I didn't care. The song was "Moving on". It's on the playlist at my local shopping mall. Tried to find out where the store gets its songs but of course, the clerk had no idea. I felt like I was hearing my own child I was that thrilled!
This is the first time I've heard Elliott played locally! And hopefully not the last! When I asked my daughter if she knew who the song was by, she said "NO, but I can give a pretty good guess." Why? Did my excitement give it away? Just had to share this with someone.
