Title: Movin On Or Alright Should Be The Next Single.

Movin On or Alright should be the next single.
Wait For You was fine. Movin On is really fantastic and Alright is hot. Train Wreck would also be wonderful after Movin On and/or Alright. All are great songs and really showcase Elliott's fantastic soulful vocals.

I agree. I think something danceable would go a long way in increasing his listener base, at least here in the Philly area.

I think a changing from a ballad would be a good thing...just my opinion. Movin on has already been well received and I think it could be a hit, or Alright because it definitely could be a great "summer" dance tune..and it's also a great song.

I think the best thing would be for E to come out next with a remixed version of Alright or Movin' On. As they currently exist on the CD, I think they are a bit too simple to be chart-toppers on the radio. With a little remixing, either of the songs could be huge hits. This could be geared to formats from Pop to Rhythmic and Urban.
Then again, I'm also hoping he releases something for AC formats soon that target an older demographic that we know he strongly appeals to.

I personaly would love to hear Alright on the radio. Even my 19 year old niece LOVES this song! But One Word is a great "wedding"song and the most popular wedding season is upon us. In fact my sister-in-law wants it played for her 25the Wedding Anniversary. But ya know, I love I'm The Man tooo.....So many great songs to choose from

A live version of Movin' On, perhaps? The way he sang it on Ellen? Man that was E mazing!

The problem is that what you like is not necessarily the best song for riding up the charts. For example, I like songs like Trainwreck, A Whiter shade of Pale, In Love With You Forever etc.
I actually DON'T like One Word but recognize it's potential for radio. Movin' on is not really the kind of "dance" music that's popular nowadays. If you go to any club, you'll hear more hip-hop than anything. Therefore, in that sense, "Alright" would work better.
I still think that "One Word" should be the next single. After Wait for You, it has the most potential as a radio friendly pop tune.

I thought Movin' On was the teaser single....
Anyway I REALLLLLY wish I'll Make You Dance was on there. It's upbeat, funky, fun, and all those former disco mamas/papas would go for it as much as the younger kids would :P
ElliottCat101 - May 15, 2007 06:59 PM (GMT)
I definitely think it should be One Word.. it is the most radio friendy. I can't really hear Alright being played on the radio that much, and Movin On isn't exactly what's "in" right now..

I AGREE! I was just thinking this the other day. club numbers do great (Alright has that kind of potential)
Movin' On is just a great get-up-and-go feel to it.
Either of those two would be okay with me
GypsyNFla - May 17, 2007 11:47 AM (GMT)
If it's between Movin On and Alright, I'd pick Movin On.

Yeah you're right Elliottcat! Unfortunately, the single has to be something with radio appeal and not just my favorite. Still love One Word though.
But come on, you gotta love I'll Make You Dance! :rotfl:

I just love "FREE" --- twenty million lyrics and all. Just makes my spirit soar when I hear it.

I LOVE ALL THE SONGS, BUT I WOULD LIKE ONE WORD TO BE THE NEXT SINGLE. :elliottcap:

OK I'm going to get slammed for this but that's okay I'm a big girl I can take it. I think this CD had too many new songs on it. I think if he had a first CD with a title of "Covers Plus 3 or 4" would have been great. He could have used songs of different eras that fit his voice and then added his new songs to it. I personally like Alright. Like everyone says it gets you moving.

Alright sorta reminds me of 'Lights, Camera, Action' by Mr.Cheeks which sampled 'Keep on Truckin' by Eddie Kendricks.

One Word should be the next single. I think radio will eat it up.

Absolutely love Movin On and Alright! Incredible singles! And i absolutely love what Elliott does with covers too! Sign Your Name and Whiter Shade of Pale are the bomb and anything by Donny Hathaway or Stevie Wonder would be incredible! Would definitely love to see Elliott more of his outstanding arrangements of covers.. E even blew Elvis and Ray Charles out da box! Would love to see Elliott do a Hathaway album and record a smokin live version of I Love You More Than you'll Ever Know. Would love to hear a recording of I Believe To My Soul too..even If I Can Dream is truly magnificent! smokin! :thud:

I would love a recording of Trouble :thud:

I'm the Man is one of the best songs on the album and definitely should be a single. However, releasing two ballads back-to-back may not be a good idea. IMO, he should release a remix of Movin' On (Alright sounds like a Yeah! rip-off :o ) as his second single, not because the album version isn't good enough but because he has already sort of released it so putting out a slightly different version would be nice. I'm the Man would then nicely fall in as the third single. :D
