Another way your local radio station may be tracking the popularity of Elliott's music is by the number of "clicks" that come from their radio staion web site to either Itunes or Amazon.
Just about every radio station website offers you a link to one or both of these sites if you want to purchase a single you have heard.
This is a revenue stream, albeit a small one, for radio stations who participate in "affiliate programs" where a small payment for each completed ITunes transaction happens as a result of clicking from your radio stations' web site.
There is code to identify this for tracking and payment purposes when you click on ITunes from a radio station web site.
So, the next time you're thinking of downloading WFY, take a moment and go to your local radio station website, and click on the Itunes logo next to WFY there.....you get the download and your radio station makes a little something for sending the traffic in Itunes' direction.

Typically, the song usually has to be in the radio stations' rotation at the time....but I think it is a great way to keep it there and demonstrates the song's popularity.
