Title: Melinda/elliott Duets

I was thinking. Does anyone else think Elliott and Melinda should do a duet or two together? Specifically the duets on the Hathaway album by Donny and Roberta Flack, "The Closer I Get to You" and "Where Is the Love."

I think they would sound fabulous together. It's time those songs made a resurgence anyway.

I cannot wait to see him on the AI stage tomorrow night, where I fell in love with him and his gorgeous voice. It's like he's finally being validated by TAIIIC.

(This is going to be great promotion for his album, so I guess I shouldn't be calling them idiots. But still! They treated him oh so bad.)

ETA: Sorry about the thread title w/ the little "e". Too much coffee today.

Great Idea!! I would love to hear them do Tonight I Celebrate My Love for You by Roberta Flack and Peabo Bryson (I am not sure if it's Peabo or even the actual title!) I would also love to see him do Then Came You by Dionne Warwick and The Spinners (again, not sure if it was the Spinners) just beef up the male part.

I made a CD of Duets that I would love to hear Elliott sing and I listen to it all the time...who he sings with is not as important so long as it's a good singer (and so long as it is not Britney Spears!!) I would love to hear him sing Whenever I Call You Friend by Kenny Loggins and Stevie Nicks (maybe with Shakira???) or Unforgettable (Natalie Cole wouldn't be bad). How about Leather and Lace (with Kelli Pickler???) I can hear him sing just about anything!! How about Don't Know Much By Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville? or Somewhere Out There by Linda Ronstadt and James Ingram (maybe with Katherine McPhee...for old times sake??) Ok I have given this way too much thought!!

Oh now this is good.

Still hopin' for that Higher Love (Steve Winwood w/ Chaka Khan)

They must do it, plus E reminds me so much of Steve Winwood. guess it's the soulful white guy thing.

Well, Melilnda has said that Elliott and Mandisa are two of her favorite idols, so the duet idea is not far-fetched at all.
