In Melinda's live chat today, someone asked her who her favorite idols were and she answered Elliott and Mandisa (and that Mandisa is a friend).
Mandisa posted a really nice tribute to Melinda on Melindafan.net.

That's cool....Melinda was my fave this year and still shocked she's gone. She definitely can sing and also has great taste in music! :wub:

After re-listening to her songs on the melindafans my space, I realize what a beautiful soul she is, just like Elliott. Hope her fans stay as devoted to her as Elliott's and she gets her great record deal. I'll buy her CD in a nano-second.
And Melinda recognizes good soul singers!
