Title: Innsbrook - Friday, May 18th
Description: Richmond, VA concert
Efan2 - May 19, 2007 02:53 AM (GMT)
It was cold out there tonight but Elliott was HOT! It really was chilly but the rain held off. There was a huge crowd. lots of Etrainers. Josh Hoge was a lot of fun. Sang well if you like the falsetto tunes. He really respects Elliott and he did a good job with background vocals. Elliott got a lot of love from the crowd. He wore the gray cap for the first couple of songs, then took it off, and showed off the curls. Had the jeans on with a tee shirt and jacket. The jacket came off later too. He sang the same set of songs as the previous night in Alexandria. His voice was in good form and he was just bouncing all over the stage. He had as much fun as we did. A little girl gave him roses and a big girl gave him a letter. I wish it could have gone on and on but I was grateful for the hour or so we had with him. :rocker:

GREAT RECAP EFAN2! You said it all very well. Altho it wasn't cold after E came out. I broke out into a sweat. LOL Josh Hoge is adorable. What a very comical guy! four words ... "Easy on the eyes" LOL I am sure all who were there get the joke. lol
It was a FABIO SHOW!!!!
Complete sell out.
Wonderful time.
Many Etrainers...
and watching brandon sing the songs while he was to the left of the stage...Priceless!
I had so much fun! By the time i got out of that crowded parking lot i was too tired to make it to Baileys. Planned on stopping in for a few, but it has been one LONG week. I had to tail it on home.
Efan2 - May 19, 2007 03:06 AM (GMT)
It really was a mess getting out of there Doxie. I was cold and just wanted to get home too. I was 6 rows back from the stage and didn't notice Brandon singing along. How cute! Scott had a good time too. Did you see him taking a picture of the crowd afterwards from the stage?
AngELL - May 19, 2007 03:27 AM (GMT)
Oh, thank you all so much for having pity on us concert-less beggars back home and giving us all the news you can think of. Even a small crumb can be a feast for us! It is wonderful to hear that it didn't rain too--was really hoping it would stay clear for you all and for E's homecoming. Hooray!!Thanks you guys sooo much for remembering us!
Rutti - May 19, 2007 03:32 AM (GMT)
Hey Efan2 - nice to meet you tonight in the golden circle line before hubby and I were sent to the "white ticket" line. But later on, thanks to Doxie and Eisaclassact, we were able to get golden circle tickets and we ended up on the 7th row! Wow, what great seats we had! Thanks a million jillion Doxie and Eisaclassact!!!!! Have already written your checks and hubby will put them in the mail tomorrow from the P.O. (he works there). What an awesome concert! I will confess that the state fair concert was so fabulous I was worried because I didn't think this one could be as good, but I was wrong!!! I have never seen Elliott dance around like he did tonight - he was just so adorable and so full of energy - it was sooo wonderful. Boy it's a whole different concert when you're up close like that, isn't it? It was freezing and damp. After we finally got out of that gridlock of a parking lot, we went to Waffle House and ate and then came home. but I'm still so excited!

Yep I saw Scott take the pic! I was front practically right in the center. He was bouncing around the place all evening LOL. When they started letting the gold circle tix bearers in i sprinted like i was a jackrabbit on speed. LOL
I thought that was cool how Josh took a pic of the crowd for his myspace. I am sure this is a HUGE thing for him too, he probably didn't dream of playing for such a huge crowd ! 6400PEOPLE! Elliott is going down in innsbrook history as the largest seller in the entire last 20 or so years of its existence!
That Josh is something else tho. He is one heck of a crooner and ...well, let me stop. I am a grandma. LMBO.

I'm pretty sure Josh has toured with Howie Day, I'm pretty sure he's probably seen some crowds before as well. 6,400! That's so great for Elliott! Sold out there easily probably.

yes, gridlock is the only thing i can say about that parking lot. But then again, i was parked right near the gate and knew that if i parked that close getting out of there would be a nightmare. but it's all good. It was worth every minute getting there that early!

I am not so sure. He was totally spellbound by the huge crowd and said several times he was so thankful for being able to tour with elliott. that is why he took a pic of himself in front of the crowd, i think it was his largest. He kept commenting on how many people were there and said he had no IDEA there would be so many and he didn't bring near enough cd's to sell LOL.
TxRangerette - May 19, 2007 03:43 AM (GMT)
Keep it coming, you guys!! We want more details!!!
DoxieChickLuvsE - May 19, 2007 03:45 AM (GMT)
UNFORTUNATELY i did not have my camera with me. I had to go straight from work and forgot it that morning. So we'll have to wait for the others to return home and post the pics. This was probably my closest seat EVER and not having a camera SUCKED ~!
DoxieChickLuvsE - May 19, 2007 03:47 AM (GMT)
Everyone be sure to check out josh's myspace page soon for the pics he took of the huge crowd!@ www.myspace.com/joshhoge
He is an awesome singer. He was the PERFECT choice for E's frontman. He is quirky and adorable like E and a real soul man!
And like E, that MAN CAN SING!

Yay!!!!!!!!!Etrain!!!!!I'm so happy you all had such a great time!!!!! And thank you thank you thank you lindagt, who called me when elliott came on and so i heard the whole first song-Alright. The crowd sounded thunderous over the cell phone. I could hear people SCREEEEEEEEAMING Elliott's name. Then I heard a sort of chant of EL_LI_OTT. It was such a thrill to hear all I did over the phone, I can just imagine how much better it was in person!!Oh wait, i don't have to imagine.Tomorrow it's my turn!!!!!! :rotfl: :etrain: :etrain:

:etrain: :thud: :thud: Two of my friends and I LOVED Elliott's concert tonight at Innsbrook. We had GOLDEN TICKETS so we were able to sit on the 5th row. The seats were great!
Elliott sounded better than ever. We were at the State Fair concert (and his homecoming at the Diamond, and AI tour in DC and Richmond) but this concert was 10 times better!!! He is much more confident and it's obvious he was happy to sing his own songs.
He came back on stage and closed with "A Song For You" which is one of my favorite songs of all time.
I'm so glad the rain stayed away. I was worried because it was kind of misty before the show.
The place was packed and everyone seemed to enjoy the show! GO ELLIOTT!!!! :thud: :thud:

Rutti, it was great meeting you too. I'm so glad you were able to get seats in the Golden Circle. I saw you there later. My husband and I were on the row in front of you and down to your right. It really was great, wasn't it! Those were my best seats to date.
I agree with Doxie. I think Josh Hoge was blown away by the size of the crowd. He made a big deal out of it. He was very at ease on the stage, very funny and "easy on the eye" as a little girl in the audience told him. Elliott exuded energy though. He really was bouncing. Simon should have seen him......... :elliottcap:

You got seats? Would it have been difficult to stand for the whole concert? You may have been on your feet the whole concert anyway, right?
Rutti - May 19, 2007 04:34 AM (GMT)
Right Parsimmon. The "golden Circle" had seats in rows and is roped off from the standing admission grounds. But everyone down there stood for the entire show pretty much. If everyone had kept sitting, we could have seen just as well as standing, but when Elliott came out on that stage, he was dancing around all over the place - it was a whole new Elliott than I've ever seen before - everyone was up on their feet dancing and clapping with him! Someone has been teaching him some moves or something, cause he was a showman like you've never seen! And was into those songs with his whole body and soul! Take a look at the YouTube of Take My Breath Away from the Alexandria show and you'll see what I mean by body and soul into the song. The whole show was like that. So thrilling to watch - who could sit down for that??? Not me!! The whole time, I was thinking to myself that I wish Simon could see him now!
hoome3 - May 19, 2007 04:36 AM (GMT)
GREAT CONCERT!!! My friend and I were on our feet the whole time, enjoying
every sweet minute of E's voice! (My friend and I had Gold Circle seats and we gave my daughter and her friend the general admission tickets I had.. ..oh well, they understood :elliottcap: My dear daughter knows what an Elliott fan I am.) We were on the 6th row, must have been right
near some of you. Better seats than I ever imagined, and like you Doxie, I didn't have my camera. Oh well, the great "pictures that could have been "will stick in my memory!
E looked so cute, and so very relaxed. Dancing around, smiling, obviously
enjoying himself. So happy for him! He sounded amazing!!! Hopes he comes back to the Richmond area soon.
parsimmon - May 19, 2007 04:45 AM (GMT)
Thanks Rutti. I'm sooooo excited. I have a month to wait, which is going to be hard. Elliott turning out to be everything I predicted for him, I knew he would be this great. I'm so happy,
hoome3 - May 19, 2007 04:49 AM (GMT)
Oh one more thing about tonight. Maybe someone already mentioned this,
but I think E's band sounds great! They did a wonderful job! Those of you
that are going to upcoming concerts on this tour are in for a REAL TREAT !!!!!

:etrain: After standing out in the rain all day, it was all worth it to see E-Dub up close. The performance was wonderful. He has really come along ways and he has such a great singing career ahead of him. The most wonderful thing was when he took the Video and taped all of his fans there, and he was so tickled that so many people were there on such a rainy day.l Everyone seemed to love my new shirt with my vest of many buttons.
Elliott excellent concert. We love you just as much as yu love the fans, great band. And Josh was great too. Good luck touring. Stay healthy
lindagt - May 19, 2007 04:52 AM (GMT)
It was (one word) AMAZING! So wonderful to see Elliott so comfortable, performing his own songs. Josh is indeed, a HOT MESS as someone said earlier - so cute and so talented. The band was awesome - Elliott was Awesome - the crowd LOVED him - Richmond did not let him down, despite the weather - it was PACKED! We danced, we sang, we watched Scott, Brandon and Elliott's buddies boogie down on the side of the stage- Then we went over to Bailey's to wind down. Josh and some of his band members came over to have a drink with us and they were amazingly gracious and fun. It was a really, really great night!

Rutti - May 19, 2007 04:58 AM (GMT)
You are so right about the band. Any misgivings I had at first, and I did have them, have flown out the window. I guess they have practiced together and rubboed off on each other to the point that they sound great and really "get" each other now in a way they couldn't have at the beginning. The band was awesome - it seems like they have added an additional keyboardist that does a lot of synthetic strings now and then that really enhance some of the songs - especially Wait For You. And am I dreaming, or did I hear Elliott mention in one of his interviews that they had a new drummer? Whataver - the band was awesome!
lindagt - May 19, 2007 05:00 AM (GMT)
Alright is a perfect opening number because we are on our feet dancing immediately - and Elliott is the cutest little dancer! He has a really good time!
Edit to add - encore song is A Song for You, which Elliott has rescripted to be A Song for Ya'll (the fans) and it is amazing and touching.
Rutti - May 19, 2007 05:04 AM (GMT)
The "cutest little dancer". LOL! He is a cute little thang! During the heavy opening beats of Alright, Elliott bounced out onto the stage just dancing his little butt off! He's been practicing in front of the mirror or something. LOL! The man can busta move I tell you. You guys are in for such a treat! I just couldn't believe my eyes!

I meant to mention that Linda. "YA'LL" is so RICHMONDISH and i know when i go out of town and say it I get odd looks. LOL I wondered if he reserved it for his hometown crowd, or will that be a staple at all shows.
hearing him say YA'LL just made me chuckle. It is hugely colloquial.

I think Elliott has always had those moves. I think he is just becoming very comfortable on the stage whereas last year he was still nervous and little experience.
Linda4Elliott - May 19, 2007 01:13 PM (GMT)
Well sistas, I'm back from my trip tp Richmond. This is the account of my day. Starting with the night before, I couldn't sleep! Got up early because I had lots to do and was so excited. I left town about 11:00. Around 11:30 my phone rings and it's ANGEL!! :) She and bdawg are just getting ready to leave and we think we will probably arrive close to the same time. I had to cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel (it's around 17 miles long..Pics to follow, after I go to Walmart and load them on a disc. For some reason, my camera isn't compatible w/my pc anymore) Traffic from Va Beach through Williamsburg was terrible. Two major back ups slowed me down. Finally smooth sailing, the rest of the way. I arrived in the parking lot just a few minutes after 4. I saw that a line had already started so I ran to get in it. There were probably 30-40 people in line. Then a security person came and divided the line between the Godl circle ticket holders and the General Admission folks. Now I only had a GA ticket, but I stayed in the GC line because Angel (Elliott!fan)and Bernie had bought GC tickets for us. I kept looking for them and LeefromVA and others. I recognized a few people from pictures on the etrain, but was to shy to approach them. While standing in line, Scott, Elliot's brother came out for a few minutes and talked..adorable! Okay, time is moving on and Angel and Bernie aren't there yet, and I am starting to worry for two reasons. I am in the wrong line..if I don't get a GC ticket, I'm going to have to go the the end of the GA line which is now LONG!!!! Oh No!!!!! In the meantime some one taps me on the shoulder and says "Are you Linda?" And it was LEE!! :) She was so sweet and it was a real pleasure to meet her! I met her son Brian, too. He took a pic of us together. We didn't get to chat a long time because she was in GA (first in line! haha) and I was in GC and I could not move from my spot. Didn't want to loose my place. EEEEKKK it's 5:30 and Angel and Bdawg are not here yet. 5:45...5:55....the lady in line beside me has a daughter who decides to go home and I say to myself, I'm going to buy this ticket if she will sell it, because I will be in the very back if I don't. She sold it to me for $25 dollars, and then they open the gates right away. We all start running to get seats. I get front row!!!!!, and people just grab all the front seats so I couldn't save any for Angel and Bernie :(( I really felt quilty about that, but didn't want to ask people to move sice they had stood in line for 2 or more hrs. They arrive about 5 minutes later and I am so excited to meet them. They are real precious people. They find seats, but not as good and they have to sit apart from each other. They had got stuck in traffic. It took them three hrs to get from DC to Richmond..should've taken an hr, but I am so relieved to see them, since I had been very worried. I think I annoy people, because I stand up in the aisle to talk to Angel, but I don't care. I was really bummed that we couldn't sit together. While I'm in the aisle, a man approached me and says "are you Linda?" It was Countmyvotes, Lilly's son!!!! He was also very nice and it was wonderful to meet him! Okay it's almost show time, so I go take my seat (DID I MENTION IT WAS FRONT ROW!!!) Josh Hoge take the stage, and let me tell you, for anyone who was worrying about someone opening for Elliott...he was fantastic. I loved him and will be buying his CD...he was cute, witty, a GREAT songwriter and fantastic singer. You will thouroughly enjoy him. He sang for aprrox 45 min.
NOW IT'S TIME FOR ELLIOTT TO TAKE THE STAGE
The band comes out...Russell is amost directly in front of me..about 5 feet away. They start playing something...it's ALRIGHT!!!...crowd starts clapping and out comes ELLIOTT!!!!! So help me, my breath was about sucked out of me. I am so close 10-12 ft probably. I honestly had to pinch myself, thinking he IS real. All this time and I am seeing him in person, close up. I teared up and couldn't stop smiling. He started singing Alright and he was having a BLAST. He looked so comfortable. Dancing around to the music and singing his butt off. The CD does not even do him justice, He sounded (and the band) just absolutely incredible. NOW about looks :) OMGGGGGGGGGG He is beauuuuutiful. HE had on a hat, jeans, and a dark jacket. The hat comes off pretty soon as he is starting to sweat already. Then the jacket, and he has another jacket underneath...Led Zepelin, then later he unzips that and he has on the brown t-shirt he wore to the first NYC day after idol last year(Hendrix, I think)..he looks amazing. Curls were in their glory!!!! Sweating like crazy. He drank lots of water. I took alot of pictures which I will post this afternoon. He looks into the audience alot. Little girls give him flowers. A teenager gives him a letter. He is having so much fun, Josh is singing back up...after one song, Josh comes forward and says he has to say something. This is the biggest crowd Elliott has ever had!!! Even more than the state fair last year. The place was PACKED!!!! They take pics and vids of the crowd. I can see Scott and his friend Brandon backstage. I stood the whole time...couldn't sit. Clapped, danced, sang along, etc....He sang Alright, Take my breath Away, Find A Way, One Word, Little Ghetto Boy, Wait For You, and more....it was fantastic. I had the time of my life!!!!!! He is just gorgeous in person. I could see his beautiful blue eyes. Let me say, He ws having the best time. I was so happy for him. He closed with A Song For You with just the keyboards...beautiful!!!!!
I still didn't get to meet him, but oh well, just gives me another goal!!!! lol I'm sure I forgot things, but I'll add them as I think of them. BTW I didnt' get home until 2:45 am....
Love you Elliott!!!

the lady in line beside me has a daughter who decides to go home and I say to myself, I'm going to buy this ticket if she will sell it, because I will be in the very back if I don't. She sold it to me for $25 dollars, and then they open the gates right away.
Was that the girl in the crown? LOL She was to shy to get out there and try to sell that ticket. I couldn't figure out how someone dressed like that, which was certainly a spectacle, could be too shy to hold that ticket up in the air and say GOLD CIRCLE TICKET FOR SALE! LOL She had the little one approach us, but we had extras ourselves we were trying to sell....
I wish you had not been to shy to approach the Etrainers in line! Between three of us we had three extra tix. We did end up hooking Rutti up with two of them, but I dont think Peppers ever did get rid of hers.
I was very near you at the show..which one were you? I have such a hard time associating all the faces with names and screennames. I know all the faces tho! I just might not remember the name! Old age syndrome i guess LOL
Posttime probably had the best seat in the house as hers was dead in front of elliott and he reached down and touched her hand and it was priceless. She was shaking and grinning from ear to ear saying she would never wash that hand again!

I have really short, dark hair and had on jeans and a tan courderoy jacket, and yes I got the ticket from the mother of the girl with the crown :) She went home because she was cold????? I wish I had approached some of you, too. I would've loved to have met you all.
I forgot to say, I was sitting to the right on the first row (right from facing the stage) I had the time of my life....
