"Music mogul Simon Cowell has stunned American Idol fans by revealing he's quitting the show in three years time.

The show's Mr. Nasty insists he won't be signing up for more episodes of the talent show after completing the 10th season of the TV phenomenon.

He tells U.S. news show Extra, "I'll have done 10 series and your time's up.

It's time then to do something new. I think it's time to bring in new people...

Ten years is a long time."

And, as for who he'd pick to replace him on the show, Cowell has one name in mind: "Donald Trump".

Oh I hope not Trump. I dont think that would be a good choice at all. I hope he was kidding. Thinking about it, people either love or hate Simon but I would miss him and his comments.

Maybe the show will have run its course by then. After this year, I think they need to seriously rethink the whole show, especially how they choose contestants and the voting process.

I hope not. Despite my love/hate relationship with this show, ultimately love wins out because of being introduced to singers like Melinda and Elliott. Simon was a HUGE Melinda supporter, and even though he can brutal in his comments, he is right 97% of the time. The other 3% is another story lol. He was right, "his Melinda" deserved to be in that finale and win. Anyway, I hope he does not quit. There is just that balance between Paula, Randy, and Simon that should be left as it is....through love and hate ;-) lol
