Title: Christmas Album Preview?
Description: Will we get one Aug 8?

I Love Elliott - May 23, 2007 06:19 PM (GMT)
Elliott has said that he is recording his Christmas album in July....

His last regular concert is Jun 21.

The make up date for the Norva in Norfolk, VA isn't until Aug 8.

"Hopefully" those of us attending the Norfolk concert will be the first to hear some of the new songs from the Christmas album!!!
(Hint Hint)
  :iwish:

I understood he was taking the month of July off and going on a vacation. A much needed one, I might add!

I kind of doubt it, takes longer than that to put it together, won't be ready by August is my thinking. From Times Dispatch:

"I'm going to take some time off in July and go on vacation, and right after that record a Christmas album for Target."

Am I the only one who thinks it's funny that a Jewish guy is recording a Christmas album?

Oh well more power to him! Absolutely loved "This Christmas", now I will have something else to play besides the Charlie Brown Christmas Soundtrack, Clay Aiken's Merry Christmas With Love, and the ever-popular Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Barbara Streisand is Jewish and she recorded a Christmas album(s).

My parents have a Christmas tape in their music collection by Art Garfunkel.

Bette Midler had one last year.

Maybe he could throw the Channukah Song by Adam Sandler on there...heck, he could do an album of Buddhist chants and I would buy 10 copies!!

Shalom y'all!

:elliottelliott: Exactly, who cares? It's his voice that we all love. He could die his hair green and wear bright red plaid pants and I'd still buy his music! :etrain:

I was thinking that too. Him being Jewish and recording a Christmas album. I think it's wonderful that he is trying to please all of his fans of different faiths. Yay Elliott!

cfans - June 2, 2007 04:45 PM (GMT)
Even Neil Diamond, who used to be a cantor in his synagogue, did a Christmas album.

I'm excited about it. I think Christmas songs are among the most beautiful and I can't wait to hear what Elliott does.

An Elliott Christmas CD? That would be AWESOME! I'll make sure that goes on my list! ;)

mominny - June 14, 2007 07:19 PM (GMT)
Don Henley sings a christmas song for which the title escapes me. I would love Elliott to do this song on the Christmas CD. Oh I cannot wait for this!

The list goes on....
The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire) was written by Mel Tormé and Robert "Bob" Wells --both of whom are Jewish.
"White Christmas" was written by Irving Berlin, also Jewish
Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer, Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, Holly Jolly Christmas were all written by Johnny Marks who was Jewish.
So maybe we will one day add Elliott Yamin to this list!
