After having the good fortune to see Elliott perform Alright twice in one week...I am now convinced more than ever that it has to be the follow up single. It is the perfect summer song and a video with him doing his little funky white boy dance moves...it can't miss!! to all of you who have the chance to see him live (or have seen him already)...tell me I am wrong!!

I so agree. In addition to it being a great choice for a "summer single", he does such a great job performing it that guest appearances on TV shows are bound to garner more sales and higher rankings for the CD! When he performed this in Richmlond, I saw a side of Elliott I had never seen before. Wow!

I agree. I would push Alright this summer, then as the summer wanes, I'd do One Word, which I personally don't love (unlike Alright) but which I think has "top 10 song" written all over it. ... Then we'd have ballad, uptempo, ballad ... and people would be hungry for more of both.

Elliott's live version of "Alright" is smokin' hot. If it's released as a single it would make a great performance and video song. "Movin' On" is also hot--we're just so used to it by now.

yeah, it needs 2 be Alright, not Movin On. Alright is just more exciting and perfect 4 the clubs that all the top 40 listeners go to. and yeah, people have already been somewhat exposed to Movin On, so that wouldn't seem completely new like Alright would. I also like One Word or U are the One (great wedding song) for the follow-up release.

I LOVE ALRIGHT! And incidentally - it seems to be very popular with the young kids. My market research consists of asking my teenage babysitters.

It sounded feasible that the Akon collabo rumors that we heard earlier, could be a remix of Alright for radio. So it could be the next single...

I'm probably in the minority here but I don't feel the Akon love - especially in light of recent events. However, I think a remix of Alright would be hotter than a firecracker - actually I think the song is pretty darn hot the way it is! Loved seeing Elliott perform it live - it was awesome!

LOL While Akon isn't one of my favorite artists, I do enjoy some of his music. His whining annoys me though! LOL I see Elliott collabing with a hip hop artist like Common or maybe even Kanye :)

A collaboration with Timbaland could be cool but whoever it was - a hot remix of "Alright" would be a bangin club track - I could really see it taking off. I think he should release both the straight version and a remix of Alright for the summer and then "One Word" after that. I think all these could be really big hits for him.

I actually had the dj play that song (Alright) at prom this year, as a kind of test...the kids LOVED it! EVERYONE got up and danced to it...even the back table of "wall flowers"! the sponsors were all standing around tapping feet and swaying! It was great! a real "Elliott moment"!

I agree it was my favorite the first time I heard it. I sometimes skip over the other songs to get to it right away. I would love to hear it on the radio.

Yeah, the whiny voice gets to me too. Hopefully when teen girls quit sneaking onstage at his concerts and all the controversy settles it could be good publicity for E! :rotfl:
