JUST WONDERING ......WHY NO ONE MENTIONS THE SIZE OF THE AUDIENCE.....I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW IF ELLIOTT IS PLAYING TO CAPACITY CROWDS. THE ONLY ONE TO MENTION THIS WAS THE BOWERY IN N.Y.......

Chloe had asked someone in the box office (which I meant to do earlier) they said 700 were sold in Philly. Believe me it was tight!

wikipedia says it fits 1000.

The venues are vastly different sizes - the two concerts I attended were sold out - one was more than 6,000 and one was about 600. They were both great concerts, but felt very different depending on the venue. I personally liked the smaller venue.

thanks ladies.........my heart would break if i had heard that he was playing to half empty venues (like taylor)..............i'm soooo happy for the news so far....

I went to the Birchmere, which sits 500 people, and it was sold out. There were a couple of people watching on the TV in the bar too, so it was proabably a little more than 500.

correction to that!!! I asked him first and he said 700, then I bought my ticket, so it was at least 701!!!!!!!!yay!!!! he broke 700!!!
and ya know if these venues could really fit what they SAY, it would be like a can of sardines. the 3 that I went to in the last 2 weeks were all pleasantly filled. I'll say this though...To hear the screams and cheers of the crowds, one would think it was OVERsold out!

Just got back from Cleveland....

looked like TWO Four-hundred seat sections sold out (some sporadic seats unfilled, but they had to have been sold, since the venue sells seats in order...I say scalpers or people who didn't/couldn't show). There were also many, many people in the standing room only section (cheap seat section...but no seats!). Farther back, tables with additional seating were available to enjoy a dinner of BBQ ribs and fried corn with your music.

So, at least 1000-1200 in attendance?

So HOW AWESOME was it??

I actually went on mapquest this morning at the hotel in Philly to see how far Cleveland was. Too much , almost 400 miles! GRRRR!!!!

Sayreville had a really nice size crowd, too. Had to be a couple hundred folks there.

(Believe me, as someone who gone to see one of their favorite Idols ever perform in front of an audience of no more than 20 -- not that it was a much-publicized show, and it was for a really crappy time of day, but still, it was in NYC for crying out loud... -- I would say not to sweat it. I think Elliott's doing fantastic.)

Absolutely I can't imagine fitting 1000 in that place. I believe they just double the amount of possible seats because it is Standing Room Only. And my ears are still buzzing from all the screams :).

It was a great crowd! well at least 701.

Was told in Milwaukee Elliott only used the main floor of the Pabst Theater and supposedly that holds 600. I will try to confirm that with the Pabst. I can only find info on seating that includes the two balconies as well.

I'm absolutely pathetic at guessing numbers at crowds (could never do the jellybean jar estimations in school either...)

But both shows the last few nights have appeared to have had the rooms filled nearly to capacity. Judy said there had been precious little publicity in Denver, so she was worried. Patti said she had heard absolutely zero in SLC.... so for the crowds to know he was in either place was pretty amazing.

Denver's venue was on two floors - looked like maybe a capacity of 1000 or so???? Judy, if you read this, do you want to correct me? Looked like all the tables on the top level that overlooked the floor/stage area were filled. Looked like most of the seats on the floor were filled too, and then of course, a large group was packed up against the stage.

SLC was a much smaller venue (they actually had 2 bands playing on different stages, which was kind of strange.) The stage E was on was tiny. There were no seats - only standing room, and everyone in there was crammed up close to the stage. The band and E had to come through the crowd to climb stairs on the left side of the stage to get up there. Elliott mentioned that it was great to have such a personal feel to the show... and said something about maybe doing a stage dive and laughed. Josh also pretended like he was going to do the same. From our vantage point, it looked like the room was pretty full - maybe 300 or so???

Don't understand why he's not getting any publicity, but if the crowds are finding out by osmosis and coming out like they are now, I can only imagine what will happen when folks KNOW he's coming.

The reservationist at the lodge that I'm staying in tonight said she had no idea he had come to Denver and would have loved to see him.... said she heard him on the radio quite a bit. I told her I'd be happy to fill her in on his schedule in the future so if he comes back to Denver or Boulder, she could go..... and of course let her know what an AWESOME show he puts on.

I just looked it up and the Gothic Theatre has a capacity of 700 which is surprising cause it isn't that big. . I believe there were at least 500 people there Tuesday night, don't you Carol?

by the way, where are you now??
