Title: My Very 1st Time Meeting Elliott Yamin!

*By the way, I just posted my b'day experience with Elliott @ Virgin Records on 3.20.07 when his CD dropped - which happened to be MY b'day!!
I posted it in the 'SCHEDULED APPEARANCES FORUM'.

I didn't know where else to post this, so I assume here is okay:
This was the VERY FIRST TIME meeting Elliott ever! It happened in Bridgeport, CT backstage at the next-to-last Idol show during the tour last summer.
As some here already know, I received a backstage pass from a nice little boy named Colin (well he's 23 but you know...) so I was able to get backstage and get the T-shirt I made for Elliott IN HIS HANDS!! Aaah!
I had made one for Taylor Hicks as well, because as anyone would tell you I totally adore him too! I wanted a Tay/Elliott finale and would've been COMPLETELY happy with either of them winning, but *that girl* ended up being there...whatever!
Anyhoo, this was the shirt:

This was the back of MY T-shirt that I had all the Idol guys sign:
Of course Elliott and Ace signed in the wrong place! Taylor's the only one who actually LOOKED and signed beneath his picture! lol
So I was backstage meeting everyone, standing somewhere between Paris and Pickler, when I heard someone say 'Elliott's here!' Well I hi-tailed it straight to him, not sure if I knocked over some little kid or not - I hope I didn't - but got right in front of Elliott. I waited my turn, kinda patiently, and told him "Elliott, I made this shirt for you, and I wrote the words on it just for you. I want you to read it and know that I mean every word.'
He was trying to read the shirt but everyone was pulling on him, but he really took time to READ it...and then...his eyes started tearing up!! I'm telling you I was saying in my head 'You'd better not start crying Elliott, 'cause we'll all be bawling up in here tonight!'
He was SO appreciative, SO sweet and so incredibly adorable. He hugged me SO tight and told me 'thank you so much' over and over and over again.
Then he signed the back of my shirt (in the wrong place, of course):
And he signed my program book 'Thanx for the beautiful shirt! God Bless!'
(that's the shirt around his neck!)
Even my sis got in on the action:
So I've had 3 rounds with Yamin and I've yet to be disappointed. He's the same always, never changing, and that's just one of the many things I love about him!

What a great story. I started getting a little teary-eyed myself. lol The shirt is amazing and must taking quite a bit of time and trouble to make. Thanks for sharing.

Ahhhhhh!!!! I remember it well!!! What a fun time everyone had!
I might add that nuchik almost didnt make it backstage, cause when Colin gave her the pass, she nearly passed out!!! It was a riot, She was screming at the top of her lungs, she was so excited. To say we caused somewhat of a scene, would be putting it mildly!!!LOL!!
But she finally calmed down, and the rest is history

I think the poem that you wrote for the back of that shirt is BEAUTIFUL!! It says it all in just a few, concise, beautifully-chosen words. I got teary just reading it!

I made Taylor one that day as well, and for some reason he didn't come out to meet n' greet. So I went back to Elliott and told him, 'El, I know you and Taylor are boys...so I know if I ask you to get this shirt to him he'll get it. Can I trust you with this?"
Elliott took the shirt from me and looked me in the eye and said, "I promise you, I will give this to him. I promise."
So Taylor's walking around with a shirt as well...
