I hope I am posting this in the right place.
Here is a short clip I recorded at the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee on June 2nd. He was talking about American Idol and someone screamed "You should have won!" and this is his response. This is why I love him! :awe:

HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE THIS GUY??? There is a saying in Buddhism that goes WHAT WE THINK, WE BECOME...I think it fits Elliott to a T!! He is the most gracious, humble, mindful person. His gratitude for all that he has been blessed with. Inspiring. In this world today with all the chaos and craziness that goes on...it is so important to have people in it like Elliott. He reminds us of what could be...he makes me believe...

Couldn't have said it better myself Rick!! And he is a SHINING example of why it pays to appreciate everything, even things that may seem at the time to be "bad" because if you take it all in stride, and realize it is all to bring you to a better place, than this, I truly believe, is what will happen. Elliott Yamin is the perfect example, and I don't care how many times I have said it, I will say it again, and again, I couldn't be prouder to part of such an amazing group of fans/family, as the train, because you draw people TO you, because of who you are, and that only means each one of us, is also, a beautiful soul;)

I am going through a kind of rough patch in my life right now...but Elliott keeps me going..as an example...as an inspiration...In the 'real world' I dare not admit to anyone that what is keeping me afloat is American Idol Season Five, third place finisher, high school drop out, former pharmacy clerk, with diabetes and 90% hearing loss in one ear...but I'll say it here...because of all the beautiful souls here I feel safe. I know you won't laugh, because you understand. I wonder if he ever looks at the posts here...(after this one I am sure he is having a restraining order drawn up!!) He must think this is so strange...and it probably is...but that is the power of music...the power of the artist...to touch the soul. I really think that is why I froze when I met him before the concert in Sayrevillle a few weeks back. I know he is just a regular guy...he puts his Orioles cap on the same way everyone else does...but then he opens his mouth...and magic! AND then on top of that as if he wasn't blessed enough...he has a heart and soul that give his talent a run for it's money.

Oh, Rick, I relate to you totally!! and you really articulate what is almost inexpressible! Elliott's voice and manner is the ultimate cosmic hug for me--so comforting and soothing but also uplifting and joy-inducing...who needs meds?? Come on!! LOL! E is the ultimate high!

Rick...I am right there with you on that! I'm not going to ramble on about my life...I already did that "In Elliott's Honor" after Brandon delivered the basket to Claudette yesterday!
I have been throught a rough few years and have found complete comfort within Elliott, as a vocalist and as a person. He is an angel in disguise, who has been sent to bring peace and happiness back to those of us who have been "Derailed" in someway or other.
The Etrain is so much more to me than a fan site and I can't express my gratitude to all of you for making this such a WONDERFUL place to "Hang out"

and Rick, he has helped me in more ways than ANYONE could ever imagine. A long time ago, a few months after the Train first started, I opened up my heart here, because I felt almost closer, and able to do it with the Etrain family, then with some people I know and love, here at home. I was raped not once, but two different times, two different men, and because of that, gained a good 100 pounds + to "protect myself" from the world. Because of Elliott, and his gift to the world, I realized that I don't need to protect anything, and while I am working on slowly transforming yellin, I realized that in the process I am worthy of real love, and I am a beautiful person reguardless of my clothing size. When Elliott met me the first, and second times, he didn't look at me, or talk to me like "ewwww gross", like even some in my own family do, but instead hugged me, with his beautiful soul, which is packaged in a body half the size of mine, which said, be who you are, and be proud of it. Pretty bad when you feel more comfortable around a superstar in the making, and a brand new beautiful, non-judgemental family, then your very own, but this is how I feel. I now have the strength to say, "you don't like what you see? too bad you can't see PAST the outside, and see my heart...your LOSS!" Anyway, one of these days real soon, I am hoping to bring Sexy back........

Great posts, every one. I try not to put him on too high a pedestal, because in some ways it puts more pressure on him, but really, he is an amazing person and I feel very lucky to be a fan.

Last night in Denver when I got the chance to meet him I was absolutely speechless, literally. I'm sure he thought I was a mute idiot and I was. LOL I had to reduce my feelings to a note. How stupid of this 46 y.o. woman!!

You guys are truly, a God send;) Don't feel a bit sorry for anything I went through though, because believe you me, it has only made me a much stronger, and much BETTER person. That which does not kill us, only makes us stronger, and nothing could be truer. Plus, I know one of the SOB's that did that to me, spent a good deal of time in prison. 360....it's gonna come back to you....

You were behind ME??? Lordddddd, next time you need to YELL at Yellin!! I know, I may have been a little fixated on the stage happenings, but ya know, ANYTHING for a fellow E-trainer, especially, the ones I have yet to have the pleasure of meeting and talking to in person!!
And your right, holding on to the bad stuff only leaves black spots on the heart. I want my heart to be PRETTY IN PINK!!!

It was actually on the way out after the show...I didn't know who you were then, just knew from your shirt that you probably knew who this Yamin guy was!!
I knew I had seen the shirt on the site before, and that you had to be an E-Trainer...I just didn't have the nerve to say anything...plus you looked all goofy and googly eyed over Elliott that I was sure you weren't going to give me the time of day!!! :rotfl:
Truth be told, I was a little in shock myself...you know cloud nine and everything!!

I found Etrain last year when my life was pretty sucky. I cried when Elliott was voted off AI, I couldn't get enough of that little guy from Richmond. I took a chance drove my old car all the way to Richmond just to see Elliott in person.
I agree with all that has been said about Elliott being so special. The video clip just documents what we have all known all along.
I too am so happy I have an E-family
Now all I have to do is get a chance to meet Elliott and get my picture :elliottcap: :awe:
