My company had a charity event at the Leisure Lanes in the Port Authority Bus Station in NYC tonight. There was a DJ playing music...mostly dance and house music...and then around 8:00 as I stepped up to bowl I heard the intro to Movin On...I wanted to scream like a fifteen year old girl, but it was a work function so I couldn't (at least not on the outside)...but I was smiling from ear to ear!! A co-worker shouts across the lane...hey isn't that your boy, Elliott...I just shook my head and did my best funky white boy Elliott Yamin move and threw a strike!! :elliottcap:

Bowled a 148...not bad considering I haven't bowled in like 20 years!! Funny thing...not to date myself or anything...but...I was looking for that little pencil with no eraser and that big sheet of paper to keep score. Apparently it's all done by machines now!!! Will wonders never cease! Next thing you know we'll be watching color television and putting a man on the moon!

omg, you mean they don't still use those half sized, black pencils with no erasers and PAPER??? Dang, I think it has been a while for me then too!!

Boy you have been away from bowling for a while. :lol: My ex husband and I lived and breathed bowling for a while. He was pretty good, was actually a regional PBA (Pro Bowlers' Association) player. Regional tournaments are only weekends but I've been to a lot of bowling centers. I've even ran local tournaments myself, now I just bowl league, nothing else. . I even met Earl Anthony, a definate bowling legend. Oh well enough about me, sorry!

You all know I bowl once a week right, like I don't mention it all the time lol.

Rick :rotfl: paper and pencil. The first time I saw a computer in a bowling alley was when I was 15... a few years back, about the time they put a man on the moon. I remember they used to use clear sheets for the leagues though lol.

We finally won the finals this winter... I bowled 80 pins over my average that last game (which is a wee bit above ave). Know how I did it? I took my mp3 player to the game that night. Put on my headphones, blocked everyone out, and listened to Elliott the entire night, so my nerves wouldn't get the best of me. :awe:

We all need to start a league called the Yamins lol. Harley, I bet you'd kick my butt.

Don't know about that, not as good as I used to be, don't practice anymore. :lol: My team came in 2nd, but it came down to the last game to move from 3rd to 2nd.
