I have already contacted Kelly's backstage Tavern...they still have our 4:30pm reservation for the preshow gathering for dinner and early entrance into the Norva. :cheers:

With the date being changed to mid week...I will need to get a head count for our reservations. Please PM me or post, to let me know if you will be joining us and how many will be coming all together. I was told today...we can have a reservation for up to 50 people. With the success of the Innsbrook concert...I am figuring, alot more people will be wanting to attend the August concert!!! (Can you imagine...How much "Better" he will be by then...He will definately be much more relaxed and have his songs down to perfection (Not that they aren't already) But practice can only make you BIGGER and BETTER!!!

On another note...Is ANYONE interested in making a night of it? Working with the bus company...I do have a "few" contacts in Norfolk and was wondering IF there is enough interest in reserving a block of rooms somewhere near the Norva? Being mid week kinda messes plans up a little...But we can make it a 2 day EEEEEEEEEE vacation!!! I have NO clue what the rooms would run...I just wanted to see IF there is any interest, prior to me contacting them. :discuss: :anyone:

By the way...A few people have asked if there is an age limit at the Norva...I did check today and it is available for all ages...However; I am NOT bringing my grandson to this one...This is Nana's night out!!! :woohoo:

Was at the NorVa last night to see Taylor Hicks (the tix were part of the package deal I won from a local radio station).

This place is USUALLY standing room only on the first floor. There are barstools that line the railing on the second floor if you need to sit.

However, last night they brought in chairs for Taylor. Hoping they do it again for Elliott.

Just 40 more days!

I am hoping Elliott's concert is still on for Aug. 8th. It is no longer listed on his myspace schedule. I know ALOT of people will be VERY disappointed IF it is cancelled again!!!

Was there a lot of people at Taylors concert? Was he as good as Elliott? I'm sorry...but I never was a strong supporter of Taylor. He is OK...But Elliott and Chris were the best during AI5!!!

Was he as good as Elliott? Nooooooooooooo! He was good, yeah, but I was never really a big Taylor fan. Chris was my very first favorite, but Elliott won me over during Stevie Wonder week. I actually only had the tickets because I won them from a radio station at the same time I won Elliott's tickets. According to the NorVa, the concert is still on.

I noticed that too yesterday when I read Elliott's new blog entry and started to post something but have been super busy with work.

It's still on the NORVA schedule as of yesterday and no notice of a ticket refund by email.

If it's on (and it better be):protest:
..please still count me in (with a friend) for dinner first.

THE NORVA SHOW 8/8/07!

This show has been rescheduled again. it is now gonna be rerouted and put in as part of the next 6 week tour with Elliott and I starting in October. Sorry for the confusion but as they say it will be "worth the wait"!

I thought they might do that, but when I noticed that he was in DC on the 1st of August, I hoped he would loop down here for the August date.
As long as he gets here at some point soon.
Since I didn't make it to the Richmond concert in May, (I was flying back from Alaska) the new date will be about 1 year since I last saw Elliott live at the State Fair concert (which was E-mazing)
Too long between live Elliott fixes, but I'll survive with videos of concerts to sustain me.

How do I go about getting a ticket? I looked on Ticketmaster and they still have the Aug 8 date listed. Should I just buy one of those or wait until it's updated?? I am having a hard time breathing!!

I got min from there last week - I'm holding on to them - I'm sure if you do that they will honor it on the later date. But, you might want to wait until the new date is posted. Up to you, but I'm sure it will be sold out by then!! You better get here!! I'm counting on it and I am sure I'm not the only one!!

Oh well, at least it will be cooler then. Number1, how was Alaska? My hubby and I are leaving July 9th for an 11 day land/cruise there. Not looking forward to the long plane ride to Fairbanks but should be great when we get there. I'll miss not getting my Etrain fix every day though.

Yeah, I got 2 for purchasing two tickets. Pretty neat, huh. Wasn't expecting that. :awe:

I went to that concert too.

Actually, not a lot of people were there. The place holds 1,500. I would say about 500 were there. That's why they had chairs there. The place would have looked empty if it were standing room. I went to the Daughtry show on June 4th and the show was sold out and the place was packed.

I did enjoy the show though.

I guess it seemed like alot of people were there because I was on the aisle, near the front and everytime I turned my head, someone new was standing beside me waiting to take Taylor's picture.

Sorry to hear that Elliott has been rescheduled - again. It will be a bit cooler in October - I hope. It's not a given, not in southeastern VA.

Whatever the date, I Will Wait For You Elliott. :awe:

I just got back from visiting my grandbabies and didn't know about the change. I couldn't go in Aug. but I might be able to get time off in Oct.

Was at the Norva last night for the Bowling For Soup show (not my idea! - I was serving as chaperone).

Anyway, they still have the concert on their in-house schedule and on their website for August 8th (less than a month from now)

I know.. I've tried to call the NORVA at various times during the day and I always get the recording.

Also, the local paper is still listing the August date in the calendar of upcoming concerts.. so I don't know what's up. August or October.
Just hope it's not when I'm in the Bahamas from the 13th to the 19th of October.
I guess we could post an email on Elliott's myspace page and hope someone responds.

I emailed the NorVa and asked if they could clarify. No response yet, but then, I just sent it this morning.

Elliott Yamin show postponed

Elliott Yamin's performance at The NorVa has been postponed for a second time. The "American Idol" singing star and former Richmond resident will appear at the Norfolk club Nov. 10 instead of Aug. 8, management announced. The show was originally announced for May 20.

Tickets purchased for both of the previous dates will be honored for the Nov. 10 concert, according to a statement on the club's Web site.

This newest reshuffling will allow Yamin to include The NorVa on a major national tour, said Rick Mersel of Rising Tide Productions.

Yamin's song "Wait for You" is now at No. 26 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart.

Nov 10th is a Saturday night so that works better than mid-week for me anyway. Sure hope I can still make the trip from Alabama during that timeframe. Maybe a little pre-Thanksgiving gift to myself :elliottcap:
