Title: I Made An Elliott Live In Concert Dvd

ladycentaur - June 20, 2007 04:07 AM (GMT)
It's a compilation of you tube videos. I'm burning it right now using Windows DVD Maker. I'm not sure how it's going to come out...but if it comes out alright I will figure out how to upload it so anyone who wants to burn their own DVD they will be able to download it onto their computer. I am unfortunate enough to live so far in the sticks that it's unlikely Elliott will come close enough to where I live to ever get to see him in concert...so I did this for myself and any other fellow unfortunate soul who lives in any far reaching banals of the world. I'll watch it on my DVD player and then report back how it came out. The DVD takes a long time to burn...so don't sit holding your breath waiting. :grouphug:

Oh...I embedded the beginning of Sharing The Night Together to play while the menu is on...and you can select each song from the menu...although they aren't labelled. It will play just like any other DVD too...which is mighty cool. It's only at 5% right now, so it's gonna take awhile.

cool! Nice idea :) Hope you get a chance to see Elliott live someday.

Me too, lol...it's a little over 14% done. The first 90% is very slow...but then it actually starts burning and is a bit faster. I hope it comes out good.

Good idea... I will look forward to seeing your DVD. Thanks for doing this and who knows... maybe you will get to see Elliott live someday!

Thanks...I sure hope I do get to. Anyhow...the DVD has the full set list of all the songs he does...and I collected the best full videos of each song that I could find. A few of the songs were kinda slim pickings...but hopefully it will work out well. It's 41% done now...I wish it would hurry up...I want to see how it came out. I've burned other DVDs and they usually come out really good.

I just finished watching the DVD and it came out pretty good. Some of the video isn't great and is kinda shaky but overall it's really good. The audio is pretty good for the most part as well...a couple of rough spots and the last song is quieter than the others...but the menu looks sweet. I'm sending the DVD folder to a zip folder so I can see about uploading it. It's a little over 2 gigs, though...uncompressed.

I

I found an online youtube file converter where you enter the URL and it turns the flv files into avis and downloads them. You can't download directly from youtube, though.

I'm trying to copy the CD to my computer now...it's going to take a little bit.

Wow, you speak Klingon!

All kidding aside, I have no idea what you just wrote, ladycentaur, but I'm so glad that you understand and can do what you do. I can't wait to download the file. Thanks!

lol...I've got the DVD copied and am now compressing it into a zip file to try to make it small enough to upload somewhere. It's a VERY big file...but it's an actual DVD. It should play on a computer like a DVD would...and you should be able to make an actual DVD (that will play in your DVD player) from the files. I've never actually done that before...so if someone else knows the steps for that they should probably post them.

That is so awesome -- this is exactly what I was wanting to do!

ladycentaur - June 20, 2007 04:57 PM (GMT)
Okay...anyone who has Vista Premium for an operating system...you need to check out Windows DVD Maker. That is the program I used to make the DVD. It's very easy to use and you can take a bunch of videos and make a professional quality DVD very easily. It takes awhile for it to burn...but it comes out very nice.

I'm still working on finding a way to make the DVD available for download...never done this before so I have to learn as I go...lol

ladycentaur - June 22, 2007 04:43 PM (GMT)
Okay...I'm going to try to do this using bit torrent. So...anyone who uses bit torrent can you please test this and see if it works and if the torrent I made works...I have never done this before. Here is a link to download the torrent I made. You will need a torrent program to download the actual DVD, though. I really need someone to let me know if this works. If it works, then the more people who download at the same time the faster the torrent will be for everyone. For now, please keep this torrent to this site only until I see how it works.

LC, I tried on my computer at work and don't have the torrent program and don't think I can get access to it here. Sorry. I'll try again when I get home and can download torrent. Meanwhile, maybe someone else will try.

ladycentaur - June 22, 2007 06:24 PM (GMT)
Okies...I just need for someone to be able to test the torrent and make sure it works. I have never made a torrent file before and don't know if I have to set up any special configurations or not. That's why I need someone to test and see if it actually downloads once they get the torrent and try to download the DVD through the torrent program.
