Title: Did Anyone Go To Anaheim Hob?
Description: last show - we need a recap!
lindagt - June 22, 2007 08:36 PM (GMT)
Please tell me that after recaps on all of the concerts on the tour someone went to the last one! We need a recap!
nanab - June 22, 2007 08:42 PM (GMT)
I think one of the Moosak members went...
insecure x blue - June 23, 2007 02:54 AM (GMT)
I was there! Sorry didn't say anything sooner but haven't been home all day until not that long ago and I didn't feel like typing a response on my phone.
But the show was great. I got in line at 6:30 with my mom and they let us in like a hour later. Show started a little after 8. I ended up being somewhere in the middle of the floor. Sometimes I had a bad view because it seemed like all the 6ft and tall people were close to the front and some kept moving to much instead of staying still. Through out the show I kept shifting around and sometimes a few people left the floor during the show I guess maybe to move to another spot or maybe go up in the balcony so I eventually got a pretty decent view of our boy Elliott! Sucks when your only like 5ft 2! haha
Josh Hoge was great, I've been following the songs he's put up and off his myspace for the past year so I was very happy to hear he was opening because I finally got to see him live. I got to meet him after the show and he's just one of the nicest guys ever!
Anyways on to Elliott. The place was pretty much packed. When Elliott was getting read to come out a few of this seasons idols came out to watch up in the balcony. When it was dark it was hard to make out who but I'm pretty sure I saw Brandon, Phil, Chris R., and I think it was Jordin not sure. If there were others I think I didn't catch them. When Elliott came out I didn't pay much attention that way as I was there to see him! But people were going nuts over seeing those Idols.
Well Elliott came out and really got the crowd going for Alright. I won't really go through all the songs because I'm sure you guys all know what is sung or probably happens by now. But each song he was amazing. I love this guy even more! He thanked a bunch of people including kiis because I guess they were sponsering it or something since there were KIIS banners all over. After Elliott sang Movin' On and left the stage. Everyone started chanting his name and it was really loud and he was wowed when he came back out to do last, A Song For You.
I can't remember to many other details since I'm pretty much tired and had a long day today but if you have questions I'll try and answer. I didn't really take pics besides try to get some on my Sidekick which didn't come out so good. I should've brought my camera but didn't know if HOB would be strict as they have when the last time I was there a few years ago and didn't want to worry and deal with it. But I guess they weren't that strict last night oh well...
I didn't get to meet Elliott but that's okay with me because I met him at his cd signing here in West Hollywood and that was good enough for me :D
Sorry this was long. I have the tendency to ramble a lot! lol
alm - June 23, 2007 04:27 AM (GMT)
I went to the HOB concert last night. I'm a first time poster and guess you could call me a "lurker" for the past 4 months. Outside of the E-Trainstation world, I'm known as Anita. I'm the 60 year old,"Rockin' Baby Boomer" that spoke to Elliott when he was on the Jo Jo show. With that said, on with my recap.
My girlfriend Karleen and I arrived at the HOB at 4:30 and had dinner there because if you did, you got to get in a witing line seperate from the masses and were able to enter first.
At 5:30 we went outside and I got in line wearing my special made T-Shirt with Elliott's picture on it incased in red musical notes shaped in a heart. The meaning of that is, "Elliott the music in my heart". During the wait in line, I started talking to a lovely lady named Catielyn, who is an E-Trainer. As time is going by, I'm beginning to get extremely excited about seeing and possibly meeting Elliott. At 7:00 after being practically stripped searched by Security (no cameras) Karleen and I go upstairs to the balcony area. Josh is standing at the bar behind me and I go up to him and introduce myself. He is an extremely pleasant young man and his performance on stage was very good.
At about 9:00, walking in right in front of where I am sitting is Jordin Sparks, Chris R., Paul Tracy and Brandon. The House was packed and at 9:10, the crowd erupts and starts screaming extremely loudly because, "The Man" has just entered the stage dancing and singing my favorite song, "Alright". At one point during Elliott's performance he was really cute because he raised his arms and said, "My Idols Are Here". The spotlight goes on them and he says, "he is glad to see them again and thanks them for coming to the concert.
Elliott perfomed his usual set of songs while dancing and struting around the stage. You can see how much fun he is having and enjoying every minute of it.
Everyone is screaming like crazy including myself when he starts to sing, "A Song For You" at the finale. I've been to a lot of concerts in my life but, I've never experienced such enthusiasm from an audience before.
Concert is over and I rush out to the area where the merchandise table is because I want to be first in line to meet Elliott. Now, I'm getting even more excited and extremely nervous thinking about meeting Elliott. In my entire life I've never felt about another performer as I do Elliott. I've asked myself why and I just can't seem to come up with an answer. All I know is that as far as I'm concerned Elliott is the best thing since sliced bread.
I've brought a Gift Bag with me to give to Elliott and it has in it, "Little Debbie Strawberry Shortcake Rolls" and a really cool T-Shirt that says, "Bad to the Bone" because we definitely know he is that. Within 5 minutes the crowd grows to about 100. I begin thinking to myself that this is not good. Josh is there and I ask him if Elliott is coming out and he tells me he doesn't know. I then ask one of the Security personnel and they don't know either.
I continue asking Security several more times during my hour wait. I finally have to except the fact that I'm not getting an autograph, picture or hug. I go over to Josh and ask him if he would please see that Elliott gets the Gift Bag. He can see how extremely disappointed I am and very politely tells me that he most certainly will.
So, I leave with my head down, lump in my throat and tears in my eyes.
Hope everyone enjoyed my novel.
JackieB - June 23, 2007 04:36 AM (GMT)
Ouch, ouch ouch! My heart just breaks for you that you didn't get to meet him. I can feel your disappointment.
Next time you go to his concert, surely you will.
You never know, being local you may run into him anytime! I know you'll have your moment with him.
Thanks so much for the recap. I've checked so many times today hoping for one from last nights show. And now there are two. Thank you. I'm new to posting here myself, so, welcome!!
itslate - June 23, 2007 04:48 AM (GMT)
I really enjoyed your recaps insecure x blue and alm. I feel your pain, so sorry you didn't get to meet Elliott, but hang in there and your time will come. Perhaps he was visiting with the Idols.
In my entire life I've never felt about another performer as I do Elliott. I've asked myself why and I just can't seem to come up with an answer. All I know is that as far as I'm concerned Elliott is the best thing since sliced bread.
Loved the way you put it alm. I had to giggle because I feel the same :). And welcome. Glad you came out of hiding too.
nanab - June 23, 2007 04:51 AM (GMT)
Aww..so sorry you did'nt get to meet Elliott this time around...
But don't worry he will be back and I'm sure you will meet him... :elliottcap:

diane...aka nanab...
Linda4Elliott - June 23, 2007 04:51 AM (GMT)
Alm, I hope this helps a little....when I went to see Elliott in Richmond, I didn't get to meet him either, but I wouldn't let myself get down, even though I wanted to meet him more than anything in life!! But I just felt like when the time was right, I would meet him, so I still had something to look forward to. When I went to the concert in at Philly, I left the line to go get something to eat and I missed him coming out and signing autographs, and I though I had blown my chance, but don't you know, it happened a little later that evening, and I believe it will for you, too!
Thanks for posting your recap and coming out of lurk land :) Now that you are out, you have to stay out!!
thank you insecure x blue for your recap, as well!! I love reading everyones experiences. Nice to hear the other idols came to see him again!
insecure x blue - June 23, 2007 06:03 AM (GMT)
Yeah I had a feeling Elliott might not come out. I heard people kept asking people about it. I didn't get my hopes up so I just went over to meet Josh Hoge and just left since I had to get up early for a thing at school. Hopefully you get to meet him someday. :)
And that's cool they still do the dinner line. It's been a while since I done that. lol By the time I got there I just decided to just get in the regular line because didn't know if I'd have enough time to grab something to eat.
realitymom - June 23, 2007 06:14 AM (GMT)
Great recaps ya'll!! Way cool to have 2 de lurked members give recaps!
alm, I am so sorry for you not to have been able to meet E & give him your gift of goodies personally! :glomp: Have no doubts though, you WILL meet him one day & perhaps even share a Strawberry shortcake roll with him! :)

ALM, what a great recap! If you were given the choice between meeting Elliott without seeing him perform live, and being in the thick of his great concert, but without meeting him, which one would you choose?
Your thoughtfulness, bringing him his guilty pleasure (Little Debbie's strawberry shorcakes), is really heartwarming!
Congratulations on having seen him live in concert!
cfans - June 23, 2007 05:00 PM (GMT)
I'm sorry you didn't get to meet Elliott. He loves meeting his fans, so there must have been a good reason why he wasn't able to come out. I have no doubt, though, that you will get the chance in the future.
I'm so glad you came out of lurking to share your stories, insecure and alm. Even though we've read dozens of others' recaps, we can never get enough. :elliottelliott:
christina - June 23, 2007 05:54 PM (GMT)
Great recaps alm and insecure!! No matter how many I read, I can't get enough of them! I am sorry, alm, that you didn't get a chance to meet E. The time will be right for you one day. I agree with many Etrainers that no matter how big Elliott becomes....he will always put his fans first. I know that he will remain the same humble person that he has always been. :console: :welcome:
alm - June 23, 2007 05:56 PM (GMT)
Benito,
It ws great seeing Elliott live in concert. As I said, the crowd was amazing. Everytime the first note of the next song played, they went crazy. Then they were quiet because we all wanted to hear him sing. After the song, they went crazy again. This continued all evening, the crowd was definitely into Elliott.
This young man pulls at my heart strings and has since I first saw him walk on the stage of American Idol. So, with that said, if I had to make a choice I would definitely choose meeting him in person.
There was no doubt in my mind that I was going to meet him after reading all the recaps and seeing all the pictures. I even told all my co-workers and friends, I wasn't leaving without a hug, autograph and picture. There reply was, "just don't get arrested".
I'm just a little concerned that the more popular Elliott gets, the less accessible he will become. But, I'm giving up and I will definitely try again.
parsimmon - June 23, 2007 07:01 PM (GMT)
thank you so much for the recaps. I'm so glad the crowd chanted his name, like they did at the VA STATE FAIR. I wanted to get our crowd doing that, but I'm the meek type and the crowd was really subdued. They loved Elliott, they were just all about as meek as me. They screamed for him, but were not rowdy and were just realy respectful. When Elliott left the stage and didn't come back..everyone just luoked confused and sad. It seemed like some were going to cry. Others didn't know whether to leave or wait. I knew he'd be back out..because I knew he still had to sing ASFY. But even my sister thought it was over, because they were taking down the instruments.
ETA alm, I can sympathize with you. I think since you live in Anaheim..your chances of seeing Elliott will grow, but I know what you mean..he's already being titled SUPERSTAR in headlines..and I know right now, it's still intimate. I hope you will get to meet him.
lindagt - June 23, 2007 07:13 PM (GMT)
It seems that the smaller the venue, the more likelihood that you will get your chance, so that may mean you have to travel to get your time. Also, near HW - there's always going to be celebrity and industry types for after the show, which limits his time.
You can't get to meet Elliott in Richmond either because the crowds are so large - so I know what you mean - but just hang in there - your time will come.
Etrainrider - June 23, 2007 08:50 PM (GMT)
Thanks for your recaps insecure X blue and aim. I'm glad the last show was a good one. That might have been part of the reason he didn't come out. Maybe there was a special party or something he and the band needed to get to. I think I had read that somewhere. Sorry you didn't get to meet him but at least you got to see a show. I haven't been to one yet but remain hopeful he'll come to my area in the fall.
It was very kind of you to bring him a gift bag and nice of Josh to deliver it to him. Glad to hear the AI 6 idol kids attended another show. Nice show of support for Elliott. :cheerleader1:

ALM, your friends and co-workers are funny!
DON'T YOU WORRY, ALM, YOU WILL GET TO MEET HIM SOON. THERE IS STILL THE SECOND LEG OF THE CONCERT BEGINNING AUGUST. THAT'S A GOOD BET. JUST KEEP POSTED ON THE SKEDS.
catielyn - June 24, 2007 05:28 AM (GMT)
Hi Alms! It's me, Catielyn! It was nice to meet you and talk with you in the line. I totally LOVED the concert!
So, here's my recap:
I got in the dinner line too, which means, I got to stand DEAD CENTER in front of the stage. I put my arms over the railing and that's where I stayed the rest of the night! Well, almost....
So I had to go to the bathroom--very hot day and major traffic. I had a huge cup of ice on the drive and well...anyway, I had to go..I didn't want to wait and lose my spot in the center of the stage so I told my neice to hold it and I would be right back. I meant RIGHT BACK! So I dart to the bathroom, quickly..not running, but almost..and so I fly up the 2 stairs that separates the room from the "pit" and ...................I go flying across the floor. It's a hardwood floor, so THUD! and not the :awe: kind...I dust myself off quickly, thanking God that there were only a few people inside by this time. I get back quickly and reclaimed my spot.
Josh Hoge was awesome. While he was performing, I could see :elliottcap: Elliott on stage, behind the curtain, and he was poking a digital camera out and snapping pictures. I also saw Jaime dancing to some of Josh's music. They seemed to really like each other (Elliott, Jamie & Josh) and were having a good time watching Josh. Josh told everyone that Elliott had asked him to continue on with him for another 6 weeks and said that they were becoming fast friends and joked that they may be dating by the end of the 6 weeks.
During intermission the crowd was crazy for Elliott. They were yelling, ELLIOTT! ELLIOTT! over and over again. It was fun to see so many teenagers there for Elliott.
Elliott finally comes out, jumping...and starts with Alright. OMG!! His voice is so amazing. Jamie is on stage, behind the curtain, and I can see her cheering him on, dancing a bit, and so proud of Elliott. During certain songs Elliott sings directly to her ("I'm in love with you forever....." and "never gonna leave you never"--during this part, Jamie and Elliott both pointed at each other and Jamie mouthed the words to him as he sang them). :kaowelcome: At one point he is dancing around and he lifts his leg up high, in a Rumplestilskin type manner, and Jaime teases him and lifts her leg knee up high too and he gives her a little "wink" and smile.
Elliott thanked KIIS FM and a host of other people. He introduced the idols who were seated on the balcony, Jordin, Brandon, Phil, and Chris Richardson. Everyone clapped for them, but quickly turned back to Elliott. I have to say, he is just amazing as a singer :rocker: . It's hard to imagine that voice even comes out of him. He's just phenomenal.
He threw his towel out after "Song for You" and it came right to me. I caught it and had it in my hand, when all of a sudden, I feel a tug..and then a harder tug, and my fingers are bending backwards but I'm not letting go, and all of a sudden, I'm lying straight back, as though I'm in a recliner, and I'm getting lower and lower and lower (HOW LOW CAN YOU GO) and some man behind me helps me up and I realize 2 teenage girls are fighting me for this towel. LOL. I already slid across the floor once, so at this point, I give in and just let them have it. They were so excited, squealing and jumping up and down.
Afterwards, I went upstairs to get a picture with Elliott, but he didn't come out. I saw Alms there too, and she was so disappointed. I felt bad for her because the same thing happened to me at the Staples Center last year and it took me 2 weeks to get over my disappointment.
Bonus. :cheerleader1: As we're leaving, I'm stuck in traffic, to get out of Disneyland. I mean..just sitting there..and no, I wish I could say, I saw :elliottporsche: but when we finally got to the booth to pay for parking, the attendant let us all go without having to pay for parking, because of the inconvenience of having to wait so long to get out--so that saved me about $15. LOL.

lindagt - June 24, 2007 10:53 AM (GMT)
What a great story! Love the interaction between E and Jaime. And it's nice to see he "dressed up" for your concert :-) Sorry about the towel - but I'm glad you let the teens have it!
*christine* - June 24, 2007 05:34 PM (GMT)
hi everyone! i'm new here! i just wanted to share my concert experience. the recap is mostly about josh because i'm a HUGE fan but i also mention elliott i love them both!
Just as my title says i went to see josh hoge and elliott yamin last night and there is only one word that can describe the night AMAZING!
ok me and my friend janis decided that we would leave at 5:30 because doors didn't open til 7, but then my mom called and said that there was heavy traffic on the freeway so we should leave earlier so i called up janis and told her the news but she said her mom had the car so we would have to wait til she got home before janis could get the car. we didn't offically leave until around 5:45 which puts us behind schedule and at this point i'm kinda nervous because the staff at the venue told me to be there at 6:45 so we head on to the freeway and we get stuck in worst traffic jam ever! at that point i'm really annoyed so both of us decide that it would be best to take the side streets to avoid the traffic well with our luck right after we got off the freeway, the freeway starts moving and the sidestreets are all backed up! needless to say i lose it and start cussing (btw i don't do very often) but i did not want to miss any part of the concert especially josh. we don't get to the actual venue til 7:30 and the line was so long and they checked everyone belongings and there was no way to sneak a camera in so i couldn't get pictures at all:( ok so we get into the venue and the security guy working there is showing us where we could sit because the place was PACKED! the security guy was nice but kinda creepy at the same time it seemed like he was drunk or high or something hehe so the concerts starts and everyone goes CRAZY!!! once josh stepped on stage my hands starts shaking and i'm screamin my head off. After his first song "shadow" i yell out i love you josh and he replies i "love you too" then he goes into talking about himself growing up in tennesse and how elliott yamin is his new best friend.. that is so cute. then he starts singing take it or leave it after that he talks about what inspired the song "work that body" he says it about a peeping tom then he goes on to say that he is imagining Elliott working his body and says that everyone is welcome to join in on the imagination haha josh is hilarious, this just proves that elliott isn't the one with the man crush on josh but josh has a man crush on elliott haha. josh does a couple more songs and now its elliott's turn, right in the beginning of his set about 7 or 8 people start walking into the venue to find seats who are these people you may ask? American idol contestants i was like OMG! Jordin Sparks, Chris richardson, phil, blake Lewis, some others but i can't remember then i also saw Ernie Halter i guess me beggin him to come to jhoge show worked cuz he was there, but i didn't get to say hi to him because he was always busy talking to someone and i didn't want to interrupt but when i turned around he was gone and it elliott's second song i noticed that Josh hoge is standing right behind me! me and janis turn around and say hi and he says "hey girls" Elliott performs a couple more songs but my favorites were movin on and one word. Elliott can Sing!! he gave me goose bumps then we leave our seats thinking the concert was over since he is thanking his band and what not and we wanted to see if we could find josh, but the security guy was like "you guys aren't staying for the encore? " we ended up staying , good thing we did because he sang "A song for you" that song melted my heart. thank god for that security gaurd :) ok fastforward to the end of the show i was determined to meet either josh or elliott so me and janis rushed to the merchandise table because josh said that was where he was gonna be. we bought some merchandise so he could have something to sign and we waited in line for josh but these people started cutting and these ladies in line were telling us we had to agressive, we pushed our way through. i finally made it and i got a autograph from josh and we chatted for a couple seconds cuz everyone was pushing i told him it was my friend Jormery' b-day and that she says hi( shout out to Jormery!) and josh said "oh yes it is, i read the comments she left me and Happy Birthday to her" janis tells him that i am his biggest fan and he says " Biggest fan huh? awww.. i feel special" then i ask him for a pic that i took with my phone and he signs the rest of my stuff and says "here you go sweetie, have a good night". Josh you are the best! i love you even more hehe. i was really sad cuz i couldn't stay long enough to see if elliott was gonna come out to meet any fans but overall i had a blast!! Janis is a new Josh Hoge fan now yay! josh and elliott did an amazing job, hopefully they will come back again. thanks elliott for an amazing time!
favorite quote of the night: "if you listen to my songs in order it goes from interest in someone to love and straight to hate, i hate my ex, if you cheat on me i will hate you"
this is a message for josh if he ever reads this blog
Thankyou SO much for making my first concert experience absoultely amazing! i've been a fan of yours for lil over a year and you never fail to amaze me. from the bottom of my heart thankyou for taking time out to take a picture with me as well as signing my things it meant so much to me, words cannot even describe how i felt. You are such a sweetheart! you are my all time favorite(congrats you beat out justin timberlake for the top spot) I LOVE YA JHOGE :)
J Hoge's biggest fan =]

Thank you all for the great recaps. Glad that Anaheim was packed. Nice way to end the first leg of the tour. Sorry that you all did not get to meet Elliott. Maybe next time you will.
ohioguy45780 - June 25, 2007 01:58 PM (GMT)
so, 900 people at Anaheim at $20 a shot, equals $18K..... so Elliott only earned
$7 K from his other 21 concerts combined , according to the WSJ..... ;-)
:rotfl: The WSJ can only get worse at reporting once Murdoch takes over.....

| linda and itslate i'm so glad you liked my recap and yes Jordin made it out to the show! i was soo sad that i didn't get to meet Elliott i think everyone around me could hear my heart break into two. :elliottelliott: |
christine hang in there. I went to 2 AI concerts hoping to do the same, waiting around for many hours and no Elliott. I did get to meet Ace and Chris, but guessing even Elliott needs a break sometimes. Don't worry, I have faith... you will see him soon. He loves his fans.
No Melinda though? I wonder what she's up to.

I read something about Melinda working on a Malaria No More project with First Lady, Barbara Bush, in Zambia.
Melinda Doolittle to Travel to Africa with First Lady Laura Bush
Trip to Distribute Bed Nets Funded by American Idol Viewers
NEW YORK -- American Idol finalist Melinda Doolittle will travel to Zambia on June 28 with Malaria No More to see and participate in malaria prevention programs as a part of First Lady Laura Bush's upcoming trip through Africa. During the four-day tour, Doolittle will see the impact of malaria on the continent firsthand and assist in a distribution of 500,000 bed nets in Lusaka, Zambia to at-risk populations.
Doolittle's visit is a part of the First Lady's five-day tour through Mali, Mozambique, Senegal, and Zambia to highlight the Administration's work on HIV/AIDS, Malaria, and education in Africa.
The bed nets distributed in Zambia represents the first installment of funds contributed to Malaria No More by viewers of the hit TV show and talent contest American Idol. American Idol's two-day charity special Idol Gives Back netted 60 million viewers and raised over $70 million dollars for programs aiding children in Africa and America. The number one killer of children under five in Africa, malaria claims more than 1 million lives a year worldwide.
"Traveling to Africa has always been a life-long dream of mine," remarked Ms. Doolittle. "I am very excited to travel with the First Lady and Malaria No More and to show the impact the viewers of American Idol have had through their help and support during Idol Gives Back."
Malaria No More, an Idol Gives Back beneficiary, is helping fund the distribution in Zambia with the President's Malaria Initiative (PMI) and the Global Business Coalition to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. The distribution will take place through an innovative program called Reaching HIV/AIDS Affected People with Integrated Development and Support (RAPIDS), which uses community health volunteers who travel into rural areas of Zambia on bicycles. In addition to bed nets, the volunteers deliver HIV/AIDS medication, nutrition supplements, and toys for children.
Doolittle, who was first introduced to malaria through Idol Gives Back, will help load bed nets onto the bikes of community health workers who will deliver them to remote communities. She also plans to perform a song as a part of the day's program. On June 29th, she will travel with U.S. Malaria Coordinator Admiral Timothy Ziemer to visit various malaria sites, including a health clinic where malaria is treated in children.
Doolittle's immense voice and positive attitude captivated audiences across the country, landing her third place in this year's "American Idol." Originally from St. Louis, Missouri and now based in Brentwood, Tennessee, Doolittle first began singing in the 7th grade. While she recorded gospel in the United States and abroad as a teenager, Doolittle's professional career was not launched until after college graduation when she worked as a backup singer for Aaron Neville, CeCe Winans, Alabama, and Jonny Lang, among others. Doolittle entered the Idol spotlight after an impromptu audition with friends.
Founded in 2006 by leading non-governmental institutions, Malaria No More (www.MalariaNoMore.org) galvanizes individuals, organizations, and corporations in the private sector to provide life-saving bed nets and other critical interventions to families in need. Together these investments will significantly reduce malaria infections and make malaria-related deaths a thing of the past. Malaria No More works in partnership with the American Red Cross; the Global Business Coalition; the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria; Millennium Promise; Population Services International; the President's Malaria Initiative; UNICEF; United Nations Foundation; United Way of America; and others.
