Title: Where Did You Buy Your Last CD?

parsimmon - June 28, 2007 07:00 PM (GMT)
I always browse through the CD's at the grocers and at the drugstore. Even though Elliott is not on display at either. The last CD I bought was Olivia Newton John at Walgreen's. Where did you purchase your last CD? I'm just curious about shopping habits. LOL

SoulMusicRocks - June 28, 2007 07:06 PM (GMT)
I bought Bon Jovi's new CD "Lost Highway" at Target.

Probably going to get Clarkson's "My December" this weekend hopefully.

Me too! It reminds me of this one record store that used to be right by my house. Unfortunately, they closed that one and turned it into a Cingular store

Yesterday, I bought a bunch more at Target. No sales people or security guards were around. I left some cd's in the alphabetical order section. I put some in the middle of the new cd section in case some people who don't know he has a cd out look there.

I downloaded Kelly Clarkson's My December from iTunes. Awesome CD!

SoulMusicRocks - July 13, 2007 04:14 PM (GMT)
I FINALLY bought Michael Buble's "Call Me Irresponsible". Gotta admit, I listened to the entire CD in the parking lot at Target lmao. People probably thought I was crazy sitting there singing loudly along with it. Although there are quite a few covers (CMI, Always on My Mind, and Me and Mrs. Jones) I liked the new material too. Especially the songs "Everything" (an uptempo #) and "Lost" (a really powerful ballad). If you love the classic Jazz/Standards sound with some new pop infused tunes, you should get this one!

ETA: I noticed that David Foster did a lot of the arrangements for the songs on this album. He is associated with the AI group and I think was on last year as a coach during love songs week.

KellieLovesE - July 13, 2007 04:22 PM (GMT)
Elliott's CD at Wal-Mart.... I don't buy CDs anymore unless its Elliott's

Me too! I bought his cd at Best Buy. It was pretty good. I have always been a fan of his but had never bought any of his music before. Seeing him on AI this season piqued my interest again. I thought he was horrible on AI by the way-- something was wrong that night.
Anyways, I did really enjoy his cd and I love, love, love the classics BUT, and a BIG BUT, hearing Elliott sing has ruined me for anyone else. I seriously could listen to all Elliott all day long-- the richness of his voice- who else can compare?
Anyway Buble's cd is sitting in my car-- will have to give it a listen again.

Honestly, I think Buble' has a pretty decent range too. He jumps an entire octave lower at the end of CMI. I was like whoa, where did that come from? lol. He reminds me of the golden age of standards with a modern twist and that's why I enjoy his music. What surprised me was his interpretation of "Me and Mrs. Jones". I'd like to hear Elliott sing that too. Buble' did really well with navigating the runs/riffs of a more soulful song.
