Today around noon, I went to Marshalls, and when I got back in my car, WFY was playing. I came home, cooked dinner, did a few things and left to go to Target. My son asked me to go in Sports Zone with him. As I open the door, what do I hear? WFY playing in the store. I about flipped because I've never heard it in a store before. I listen after it is done playing, and realize they are playing the local urban station.YAY!! first time I've ever heard it on there. When I go back out to my car, WFY is playing on the local top 40 station. This is a HUGE hit!!!!! I am so happy for Elliott. :awe:

I haven't heard it in a store yet, but then I never go shopping except to the grocery store. I did hear it when I was at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut a couple of weeks ago. Tried not to make a fool of myself. :fangirly:

I tried REALLY hard to maintain my composure since I was with my two sons...21 and 12...If I ever want them to go shopping with me again...lol

I haven't heard Elliott on a local radio yet -- I am awaiting that day (and it will be soon) when this "uncool" mom's fave is all over local airwaves. I heard WFY played once in our shopping centre several months ago (I embarrassed my 15 yr old) and a few weeks ago on a teen's compilation CD at a pizza place.
Good thing she wasn't with me that time!! She would have died! But I sure had fun!! :fangirly:

I am pleased to say that I have heard WFY twice now while shopping- once at Rugged Warehouse and once at Goody's. Both times I yelled out proudly "That's my Elliott!!" My daughters call me everytime they here it somewhere now and play it for me on their cell phones whether its in a store or on the radio. They accept the fact that showing the LOVE for Elliott's music is the way to my heart and that he is my unofficial son.

I am sitting here in the lobby of my hotel logged onto the Etrain and all of a sudden I hear WFY! I turned around so fast and realized that it was somebody's cell phone ring!!! At first I thought it was my phone because I just got WFY as my ringtone. Well, needless to say I almost fell off my stool!! I had such a goofy look on my face that the young girl whose phone rang was looking at me very strangely. I wanted so much to strike up a conversation about E but decided to quit while I was ahead!! :music: :rotfl:

I HEARD WFY IN A LITTLE CLOTHING STORE YESTERDAY. THEY SAID ELLIOTT YAMIN COMING UP NEXT AND MY HUBBY SAID I GUESS WE ARE NOT LEAVING YET. I JUST LAUGHED AND YES WE STAYED PUT UNTIL THE ENTIRE SONG WAS OVER. MY HUBBY JOKINGLY ACCUSED ME OF HAVING SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT COMING ON. I ACTUALLY HEARD IT SEVERAL TIMES ON THE RADIO THIS WEEKEND. :cheerleader1:

I had something like that happen today when I was with my dad and we were listening to the Elliott cd for the first time [[well I've listened to it so much I've lost count lol]] But before that WFY had been playing on radio, then we put the CD in and after it was done my dad turned it off and put on the radio, and Elliott was playing again!
Oh and today my dad admitted that he liked Elliott - for those of you who didn't know like 2 months ago he said Elliott wasn't that great [[And was all for Daughtry]] Now he sings to WFY whenever it comes on and sometimes he randomly starts singing it in public lol

I have another little story. I had to take my sons friends home..it's about a 35 mile ride. On the way home, we heard WFY on the local top 40 station. When it was finished playing, the dj said "Great song, I love that song. He's a STAR. He came in third on American Idol and Daughtry came in fourth and they were the two best ones." This was a male dj.

So afterwards, I tuned into the rhytmic station because I knew it had been added, but I had never heard it yet, and lo and behold....WFY is playing there too!! I will be calling them in a minute it "inquire as to what that great song was they played at about ten til 6"

I was at a good friend's house for a barbeque this past Saturday. She has a great backyard with a pool and the weather was awesome. She has two great kids a boy 3 and a girl 6. They both love music and know all the songs on the radio. I had given her daughter the Elliott cd when it came out but she never mentioned whether her daughter liked it or not. I was in the pool with the kids and the radio was on...WBLI in Long Island NY...it was the first time in ages that I listened to the radio and I heard all those terrible songs that everyone keeps mentioning and that I keep seeing on those lists everyone posts. Umbrella Song or whatever it's called is beyond awful...awf...awf...awf...awful!!

Then all of a sudden I hear that piano intro...and I had to keep it together because there were a bunch of people there who I had never met before...and the sight of a grown man running around the pool screaming OH MY GOD...OH MY GOD...Wait For You is on...Wait for You is on...might have made them scoop up their kids and head for their cars. So I keep my cool...and just then my friends kids scream out...HEY MOM....IT'S ELLIOTT!!! And then they proceed to sing the whole song!! I was so proud!! My friends daughter then swam over to me and said thank you for the cd...she said she loves every song on the cd!! So I asked her what her favorite song was and she said #4...I love the way kids don't know the titles, just where on the cd the song is! Thinking she was just saying that to be nice since I gave her the cd...I asked how does it go and she starts singing...I'm so into what you're giving....which was strange coming from a six year old...but still moved me to tears. She stopped singing and asked her mom why I was crying. It was an awesome day!!

Now I'm crying! Boy, Elliott's voice reached any age. What a great story!!!

linda's cryin & i'm laughin over here! the parts about Umbrella & a "grown man running around" was hilarious, lol. And dang-- maybe One Word should be the next single after all. (but i still want something faster first, darnit!)

In Nanasetta's news thread, she posts an email she got from Honduras and they say they like Alright there. I'm starting to think Alright might be good, though I don't like it much. It would be more adventurous than One Word, that's for sure.
