I'm listening to the TRL Radio Weekend Countdown on KRBE right now and "Wait for You" is at number six this week! Before the song, Damien mentioned how only Daughtry and Elliott have had songs make the Top 10 on this countdown from Season 5 of AI. He went on to say that Elliott has had an unexpected smash hit with WFY this summer. He also played a clip of an interview where Elliott talked about writing songs. It might have been from his TRL appearance in March. I'm not sure though. After the song played, Damien said that Elliott has a busy couple of months ahead of him. He mentioned his latest Myspace blog and said Elliott would tour the Phillipines and have a new single out by September.

It was pretty cool to hear. I only wish I could have recorded it for you guys, but I'm not smart enough to do that! Nonetheless, I wanted to share the news!

I send e-quests, text messages, and call in whenever I can to request WFY and they are pretty good about getting the song on for me. Of course, they're more responsive to texts and phone calls. All types of requests are helping though because KRBE is increasing Elliott's play. I used to only hear him about 3 or 4 times a day and now he comes on around 4 or 5 times a day.

Good to see WFY continue its strong run on radio and now in association with MTV. Did it ever make the actual TRL countdown on TV? I've only focused on VH1.

I don't think WFY has ever made the TRL Countdown that comes on TV. Recently, MTV removed WFY from their voting list. I'm not sure why. :dunno: However, it is good to know that he is doing so well on the Radio Countdown. :yes:

On another note, KRBE has played WFY 5 times today. If we get a 6th spin tonight that would make it the most times it got played in one day EVER! Maybe we're finally reaching a new level of rotation!? If you're in the area, call in and request!
