Very off topic, but I like to listen to various radio streams of station's playing Elliott's music and for some reason the program directors seem to be programming the new Ay Bay Bay by Hurricane Chris right after Elliott's WFY.

Whenever I see someone remark about the simple lyrics of some of Elliott's songs, I wonder why I rarely see too much written about the horrible and redundant "songwriting" lyrics we so often hear on Top 40 today.

Umbrella drives me absolutely nuts....I can't hardly stand the 2 seconds it takes to switch stations.

lmao this song makes me laugh. It's so dumb. Yet my cousin plays this song all the time and I have it stuck in my head. I always find myself going "Ay Bay Bay" at the most random moments.

tell me about it! If he wrote a song about a stripper, ppl would love it. (gimma break)

Yeah the lyrics thing is just stupid, I mean look at "This is why I'm Hot" - it's composed of like 5 lines and some rapping where you can't hear what they're saying. And there's also "Buy you a Drank", "Umbrella" and so much more.
I think it also has to do with WFY being a slower paced song, because when he was on Idol the next day I was like,"Did you see Elliott?" And Almost everybody said,"No, it was a slow song so I changed the channel." D=

The other thing I notice is that some songs sound like they could be performed at the National Cheerleading Competition. Is it just me?

More cheering and clapping than actual singing.

^^You can blame "Mickey" for that. The ghost of that song appears to be haunting radio with clones of it (Hollaback Girl, Girlfriend, etc.)

It's cause they pay more attention to the beat than the actual song :rolleyes:
