Rutti - July 22, 2007 01:26 PM (GMT)
I'm sure I speak for myself and others too when I say that many of us probably wouldn't go to the trouble to vote and request if yall didn't keep up with this stuff and make it soooo easy for us! Thank you sooo much!!!

alienhamster - July 22, 2007 02:59 PM (GMT)
This needs to be pinned in a more prominent place. Great job goelliott!

SoulMusicRocks - July 22, 2007 09:02 PM (GMT)
Thank you for putting this together GoElliott. We appreciate you and everyone who continues to organize, vote, and support the music :)

Thanks for doing this. :rocker:

goelliott - July 22, 2007 10:42 PM (GMT)
You guys are more than welcome! I hope everyone will drop in at least a few requests or votes a day..on the road to WFY as #1 hopefully!

alienhamster - July 23, 2007 05:14 AM (GMT)
BTW, I believe wee moogie said that KYLD did say equests DO count in their considerations of airplay, though obviously not as much as phone calls. So, yes, dropping equests every day or so is a helpful thing to do.

ETA: To clarify, the equest etiquette is typically to send no more than one equest to any one station each day. So, it's okay to send 5 equests total, one to each of five different stations. But it's not cool to send 2 or more equests to the same station each day. (Houston and other sites have talked about this explictly, so trust me here.)

Linda4Elliott - July 23, 2007 03:17 PM (GMT)
Thx for the list!!

This thread is now pinned in Updates & News so EVERYONE can see how easy it is to request in their area.

Many, many, thanks to Goelliott for updating and organizing this list yet again.

Anyone with info for updating should just shoot Goelliott a quick pm.

Yes, this is true. IN ADDITION to calling, which is the most influential, send an e-quest, and send them at different times of the day.

The same goes for calling; from what we have been told, it is important for stations to see the requests for WFY coming in at all different shifts during the day--it gives the impression that WFY is reaching a wide audience, not just the morning listeners, etc.

Many thanks, goelliott, this is great!

:goodpost: I'm so pleased to see these words of wisdom from alienhamster and wee moogie

Everyone here knows how good he is and I for one will be a fan for life. But however enthusiastic and proudly rabid Elliott's fans are, don't forget that he has a growing hoard of new young fans who are also helping by their purchases and admiration. They are giving Elliott a very legitimate standing in the music business. I'm constantly impressed by the increasing number of comments WFY gets at youtube by people who either didn't know who the heck he was when they heard him on the radio and people who do remember him from AI and are amazed at the transformation.

I realize that he might not be quite where he is today without all the voting that has been done by all the e-trainers here, but... OK, I may be saying something unpopular here... forcing the numbers without this kind of control could quite possibly cause a negative backlash with people in radio and the media. We cannot stress it enough!!

Do I know what I'm talking about? Heck, I don't know... it's just a very strong feeling I have. :(

There... it's been bothering me for a while and now I've said it...

Thanks for listening. :)

Hey Lorna, I'm glad you felt you could post your concerns. Your instinct is correct--if we just request and request without thought, it can and has backfired. I've had a few backfires myself!

Fortunately, I think most of us on the Etrain have learned from previous experiences and have gotten pretty savvy about requesting. There was a Requesting Tips thread somewhere--I think in the Promo Forum. We've learned from mistakes, from talking to the DJ's themselves, and from each other.

If you have any questions, please feel free to pm me!

:elliottcap:

P.S. It seems I run into people more and more who think Elliott is "new." It makes me laugh, and it really encourages me that he's getting more and more fans all the time!

from my email request:

Hey-

You won "Pick The MIX" . I can't enter you into Promo Suite Winner form
without phone, birthday, and address. Can you please send?

Connie Breeze

Prizes are all local lol. Well except for a t-shirt.

Funny, I only picked Elliott... not 3 songs. Maybe they'll play it three times.

Should I send in the info??? If it's a local prize will someone want it??? Not sure if I can give it away, but it's pretty far from Philly area lol

ETA: It wasn't a streamed station, so I had no recourse of answering the email.
