Title: Wait For You
Description: Crisis averted!!

I wanted to share something with my friends here on the E Train...My niece finally admitted to me today the she loves Wait For You and has been secretly listening to the rest of the CD that I gave her months ago and loves it!! I have been struggling with this for quite some time now...I wanted to share this burden with you all, (sorry...Y'all) but I didn't know how. I come from a family that doesn't air it's dirty laundry in public...and Lord my load was heavy.
Back in March she said she hated the cd and couldn't stand the video and said Elliott was icky...or whatever word it is kids use today. I was appalled. I went to a psychologist and he said you have to just let kids be and they will grow out of things. Obviously this guy was a quack who must have won his degree in a raffle.
I went to my priest and he said the Lord works in mysterious ways and that this too shall come to pass. So I said to him...thanks Father...see you at Bingo on Friday!!
I called that show where they do the interventions and they said.. look if she was listening to Constantine then maybe they could help.
I was at my wits end...I thought about calling Child Protective Services on my sister and having my niece placed with me. Clearly she was failing her as a parent and was in a very unhealthy environment.
She said she didn't want to listen at first because I gave her the cd and what did I know about music. Then she said all her friends were talking about this song by the guy from American Idol and she said she had the cd and they all listened to it and now they all love the song and the cd and they all think Elliott is so cute. And after she showed them the picture of E and Me from the concert in Sayreville...I became the coolest thing since High School Musical!!
Another family crisis averted..
The power of E compels you!!

Heehee that's how I was too - my mom LOVED Elliott way before I did, and I liked him for a long time but didn't tell her (because I didn't want her to be right lol) The reason they found out was because I left a page to E-Train open one day ^^;;

I've about driven my family nuts with my Elliott fandom, but they have come around to my way of thinking quite a bit.
My husband has also been an E fan since the AI season and helped me vote even though he wasn't actually watching the show each week (now that is love!) He went with me to E's first concert and enjoyed it but still I get pleased when he requests I play Elliott's cd and seems to love it too. He can't help dancing around to Alright and loves You Are The One like crazy. When I told him E was No. 4 on the pop charts now he said thought Wait For You would go all the way because it's a great song.
Caught my teenager with Elliott on his ipod. He was giving me a ride in his car and guess what should come on but "Movin' On"? My 21 year old likes to add his guitar licks to E's music and remixes it for fun.
My mother in law floored me by asking about Elliott last time I visited. She said, "did Elliott change his last name?" She had thought it was something different. She always watches "Capitol Fourth" and happened to be so impressed by him and his singing she saw the commercial he was going to be on Ellen and tuned in just so she could see him again (hehehehe). She didn't care for "Movin' On" much but loved the interview. It's so cool that all the generations in my family have turned into Elliott fans.

Okay Rick, you almost got me in trouble with my office mate. I couldn't stop laughing. I know it's a true story but the way you told it. What a gift you have!
I bow to thee! :rotfl:
