Title: Mtv...what Gives?

I know this has been discussed before but seriously, what gives?
Elliott doesn't register on the radar over there. at ALL. I can't even find him under artist search & there's some pretty obscure artists listed under 'E'
http://www.mtv.com/music/artists/browse.jhtml?chars=y
He's nowhere to be found on top vidoes ( & there's 29 of them)
http://www.mtv.com/music/video/
When I search him in the MTV search engine I come up with a single write up from back in March!!
http://www.mtv.com/search/?searchterm=elliott+yamin

what is going on over there?...have we just neglected MTV? or is there some 'other' force at work like..um, let's see...a certain AI affiliate.
More importantly..is this something we can turn around by e-mailing, etc or is MTV not a big deal? VH1 does seem to be more focused on music whereas MTV is just one bad reality show after another but when you hit the MTV website it comes across as still very much a force behind the music. Should we just let it happen organically & hope they'll wake up or should we go at it like the rabid fans we are..??
Any ideas people?

Does MTV still matter in the big picture? It would be great exposure but he seems to be doing fine without them. Does MTV have the impact it used to have? Do they even play videos anymore? I remember when it was all about music...now it's about Sweet 16's, Pimping Rides, Cribs etc. Maybe it still impacts the younger kids (sidebar...when did I become my grandfather???)

But none of the kids I know today really seem impacted by MTV in terms of music the way I was back in the old days. It would be great since any exposure for E is good, but does MTV really matter anymore.

I agree 100% Rick. MTV probably should alter its name to RTV for reality television. It basically is one reality show after another and the music is secondary. Besides, weren't they going to cancel TRL anyway? That is the singular major show for music equal to the Top 20 for VH1, but they are eliminating it.

I have to agree with you both...it doesn't really matter because, like you said, E is having plenty of success without the acknowledgment of MTV. I still think it's totally weird how he's not on the artist list when the likes of Bucky, Clay, Taylor, Kat, Kimberley Locke, Justin Guarini (yes! he's on the list), Diana Degarmo....know where I'm going with this? Very weird. Maybe it's just an oversight.
PS..RTV is a good name for that 'music' channel

He does have an artist profile at MTV, it just doesn't show up in the alphabetical listing:

I don't understand the TRL thing either, but I agree that it might not make much difference anyways. My sister and her friends are 18 & 19 and they tend to watch VH1 for music videos.
