Title: How To Get Elliott On Television?
Description: Leno, Letterman, Oprah etc.

rockermanross - August 6, 2007 05:26 PM (GMT)
I think the next step would be to figure out how to get Elliott on some of the major late night and early morning TV shows.

The exposure is HUGE. Most people already know what WFU sounds like thanks to the massive # of spins. If he can get on TV for a performance at this point in time, you'll see a major explosion, both in popularity and in sales.

My bet would be that management already has him booked! :elliottelliott:

I think the time is now and the idea is fantastic. BUT....I am completely sure that his "team" is working on more of those types of appearances as the new season for these shows start and as timed when the second single drops. I'm not sure that we can do more than they can to make it happen though.

Lord knows enough of us have written to Oprah already! He's done Kimmel, R&K, Ellen - and has Rachael Ray all lined up. Yes - the late night shows and SNL would be great (think Jackie's skit about the hair -ha)

I don't know how receptive thoses bookers are to fan requests though - I sort of would like to let his team handle it unless someone completely inside the business can give us some advice. I don't want us to muck on anything they are already doing.

I would think that the exposure would benefit a new single more than WFY...I am sure his management know how to get him booked when the timing is right..I don't think this is something his fan base needs to be involved with.

Good point.

What we need to do next is support the second single just as strongly as we supported the first one. His agents are great at getting him the exposure when need be - but we may need to jump start the single to make sure it climbs the charts like WFY and proves Elliott not to be the proverbial "one hit wonder". In fact , that may be the way we help him to get booked on these shows - by making the song big enough that the shows just "have" to have him.

I have to agree w/ lindagt here. I think his team is probably on top of this issue and I have faith that they'll be arranging appearances on the morning and late-night shows as well as some talk shows he may have missed. I'd really hate to see us muck anything up. As much as we want these tv appearances, I'm leaving it to the professionals.

That being said, I'm dying to see him on Oprah!!! I just think he'd fit her format perfectly, gracious and warm, incredible musical talent and giving in his support to the diabetes fight. She'd love him and he'd get great exposure.

I agree with the Oprah statement. Plus, any recording artist appearing on her show gets a huge boost in album sales.

Sandy5 - August 6, 2007 06:27 PM (GMT)
Would be nice to see E on some of these shows and I bet he will be. I agree that his management should be the ones to promote this, not his fans. That's just not how they book artists on these shows. Maybe they are waiting to decide what the second single will be and will use these appearances to promote it.

movin2thabeet - August 6, 2007 07:06 PM (GMT)
I'm sure E's Management Team is working on this. And also I don't think it hurts to contact those shows that we watch and ask them to please book Elliott. I don't think this should be a huge fan campaign, just individuals.

Also, I'm concerned that people are thinking that WFY has near peaked just because they're seeing that being reported on the Top 40 Chart. I want to remind everyone that while Top 40 is important, it is not anywhere near the primary player on the radio dial. It's just where Elliott started his radio play.

The other Radio formats are just getting started. Especially the AC family - AC, HAC and RAC stations - are on fire right now. WFY is one of the big movers on all these stations and climbing. I think people might be slowing down with requests since WFY has been out now for months. But most of the stations outside the Top 40 chart are really just starting and Elliott is only on the playlist of a fraction of the available stations in these formats. That means that a good portion of this country hasn't even heard WFY yet. Top 40 stations are not always the top listened-to stations in a city - it is often a AC family station that is the highest ranked in a city. Just as a wake-up here, Daughtry's Home is currently heard on 142 AC stations, while WFY is heard on only 23 AC stations. Similiar stories on the other formats. And Elliott has yet to be heard on hardly any UAC stations. Still not even showing up on that chart.

I'm continuing to report on all of this on the Radio Updates thread, updated daily. In fact, today showed a near record of 9 new stations, many due to the play given WFY on Ryan Seacrest's HAC/AC version of the AT40 show due to it's New Breakout status. NEW BREAKOUT on HAC/AC. Not yet on the chart because it's so new to this format. So there is still a lot of support needed for this single on all the other formats. I get concerned when people here skip over to the next single when we're still solidly in the middle of this single's life.

alienhamster - August 6, 2007 07:18 PM (GMT)
Exactly, Movin.

And if we really want to boost Elliott's sales, it will help immensely to get him a more solid foothold in AC and Rhythmic formats. These will be completely new audiences for Elliott that will last for MONTHS, particularly AC. We have to remember that this is very often a NEW song for a lot of people. So let's keep moving forward with phone requests, especially to stations on the brink of adding him to full rotation. (Look daily at the Rhythmic/Dance thread or Movin's list of adds in the Radio Updates thread.)

Otherwise, I agree that uniquely written letters from actual fans of these shows can't hurt. So, if you're a fan of Oprah or David Letterman, feel free to contact them about having E on as a guest. His scheduling is most dependent on what his management can do, but sometimes nicely written letters can help tip the scales.

rooney - August 6, 2007 07:58 PM (GMT)
Something we have to remember... There is this 'Elliott' world that we live in and have been listening to WFY for almost 5 months now, and then the 'real' world where it is just starting to be played on a regular basis. What seems like an old song to us here is just starting to take off out there in the 'real' world. I think that is why we are impatient for a new single to be released because we feel this song has run its course when in reality it is just getting started.

I disagree, I know Elliott has management, but what harm does it do to request Elliott? I've done this for Paul Revere and The Raiders. Fans do things like this.

HI Y'all,I understand Elliotts TV Tour Schedule will be starting on 8/13.I know Elliott has been on Jimmy Kimmel live,Regis and Kelly (2 times),Fox and Friends,Larry King Live,Ellen,Elliott was on Jay Leno for about 10mins.spining a wheel,Rachael Ray on 8/29/07 and some other shows!I heard Oprah is one of the hardest shows to go on,but if the American Idol Season6 Top 10 could get on Oprah then Elliott can be on Oprahs Show, but I have been saying this all along Elliott needs to go on all the major TV Talk Shows!Everyone says its up to Elliotts Managment to put him on all these major Talk Shows!I think we all maybe able to help in some way!I do think it would help promote Elliott and promote his music, but everything Elliott has done and will do is promoting him and his music also!So I guess its up to Elliotts Managment?Only time will tell if and when Elliott will be on the Major Talk Shows! :elliottcap: :elliottelliott: :etrain: 4 LIFE!!!

I just want so badly to see Elliott on Dave Letterman. I've already seen him on Leno right after American Idol. But has he ever been on Letterman?

indianangel4ever - August 9, 2007 04:34 AM (GMT)
At the end of Tyra Banks' show one day this week, she concluded the show by saying if you have any show ideas or any performers that you would like to see, to write the show and ask.
I had an idea to write and mention Elliott and how fantastic he is and that he dates the beautiful model Jaime Paetz...show idea would be to have Jaime on the show(because she is a model) and having Elliott come out "secretly" to sing to her :awe: ...and perform for us! :elliottelliott: But that was just "an idea"....I already had planned to run that by all of you to see what you think???? And low and behold I see this post!!
I'm still willing to see what all of you think!

Taratova - August 17, 2007 12:28 AM (GMT)
I have been writing to the Today Show and the Tonight Show ever so often with updates of Elliott's career highlights.

I even mentioned to The Tonight show that Elliott lives in Los Angeles and gave his managers name and the Three Ring name in Los Angeles for them to contact. Wish Elliott could get a large syndicated show to cover a large area.

Keep writing . Don't give up. They will one day need a singer and then think of Elliott . We have to wait for that day to come , and we will should continue to ask.

Taratova - August 24, 2007 04:20 PM (GMT)
Elliott needs his fan base to ask for an appearance with an e-mail once in a while just to keep Elliott Yamin in their minds when they need a performer on their show.

Nice to keep the name Elliott Yamin in their minds when they decide to book an artist.. Let's add to Elliott by adding his name to requesting for him as a performer.

If his management team contacts these shows they will have Elliott's name in their mind from another source , our e-mails thus giving Elliott Yamin booking more clout. No spam, just once in a while.

samimama123 - August 24, 2007 04:43 PM (GMT)
I disagree..Tv bookings are his managers jobs not his fan club..I think it reflects badly for fans to email shows "requesting" him...JMO but it's stepping over the line for me...When the time is right he will be on more shows so I will let his management do their job and stay out of it..

Okay. We will agree to disagree on this. I have no problem as a member of the viewing audience writing a show and telling that show who I would like to see as a guest on their show.
I would like to see My Chemical Romance or for that matter The Last Goodnight on Letterman. It's not like I'm asking Letterman to have my very talented nephew on his show..although, that's an idea. :) They both have records out that are currently heard on radio, and have fans that want to see them perform. Why would it be wrong to write Letterman and inform him of my wishes?
The audience is watching various acts every night on the show..why would it be crossing a line to write the show and ask them to showcase someone you are interested in seeing?

eliz - August 29, 2007 04:23 AM (GMT)
I remember what Oprah did for Robin Thicke's sales, and even tho I found his Lost Without You song pretty sexy, he honestly can't sing his way out of a paper bag compared to Elliott. I think it's a great idea to drop a line infrequently to big shows like that. I emailed the Oprah show back in April or something saying I hope to "see this guy sometime on your show, because he can do Donny Hathaway & Stevie Wonder like nobody's business", and now I think enough time has passed to throw one more email out to her people. :) I think i also commented on something from another episode that had aired too, so she'd know I'm a regular viewer.
