A sales representative from "The Spirit of Norfolk" cruise ship came by my office last week. I asked her about a group rate for us to have a meet & greet cruise. Either a dinner cruise on Friday night or a lunch cruise on Sat. She sent me an Email today and she is offering us a VERY good price!!! This is just an idea I am tossing out to everyone...thought it would be a good opportunity for everyone to meet in a comfortable/relaxed atmosphere.

As I mentioned, I would love to help you plan a Spirit of Norfolk Cruise for your group. The following is the cruise availability we will have during your stay:

Friday, November 9, 2007 Dinner Cruise Boarding at 7pm, Cruising from 7:30 to 10:30pm.

Saturday, November 10, 2007 Lunch Cruise Boarding at 11 am, Cruising from 11:30 to 1:30pm

Saturday, November 10, 2007 Dinner Cruise Boarding at 7:30pm, Cruising from 8-11pm.

Also we are offering JRBL, a special discount for cruises booked now thru December 31, 2007.

The group rate for lunch would be $29.05. The group rate for dinner would be $43.92.

This is a considerable savings from our public rate. We normally consider 20 or more people a group, but I may be able to work something out if you have numbers close to that. I know you have to put your feelers out to see if there is enough interest but let me know what I can do to help…all of our cruises feature a buffet meal, live entertainment, and a DJ for dancing. Alcoholic beverages are available, but not included in the group rate.

Just one more tidbit of "useful" information...My company had our Christmas party aboard "The Spirit of Norfolk" and the food on the buffet was VERY good! I must say...I was pleasantly surprised!

Saturday lunch sounds good to me. I've been on the Spirit of Washington, it's nice. I'm sure I can talk my hotel room mate into it, if not, I'll just force her to walk the plank. Hear that Barbie. LOL.

Are you coming to Norfolk to join us??? You can let Auntie know the plan...It would be awesome if Elliott would join us!!!BUT, unfortunately, I don't think the "powers that be" will allow him to cruise on the EEEEEEEEE trip! We would like to extend the invitation to Claudette and her family, even if Elliott can't come.

Hope you will consider making a road trip to Virginia!!! It is a 3 day weekend for many state & federal employees for Veterans Day...Guaranteed to be a fun filled weekend!!!

BTW...on a different subject...How is Claudette doing? Has she had her surgery yet? We have not had any recent updates...I hope she is doing OK.

HMMMM, I would really really love to take a trip. Not sure if I can swing it tho.My son is in a concert at Carnegie Hall . I originally thought it was on Friday, but I just found out it's on Thursday!!! i wish I lived in Virginia..I would LOVE to meet everyone. I feel 'out of the loop' down here in Jax :thatsucks: ...though I'm sure with Elliott's ever growing popularity sooner or later there will be more people in my neck of the woods as crazy about Elliott as I am. Can't wait.
