I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but I use Firefox and my browser would crash when I was in my Yahoo mail inbox. I figured there had to be a fix and googled for answers. I think it's fixed now, and this is what I did:
Open C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\shared folder, then rename the file "npYState.dll" to "XnpYState.dll". This will disable the plugin.
Got the info from this site:

Gypsy, your computer probably had an adware or spyware.
My browser used to crash every few minutes a few days ago. I ran Hijack This and Spybot last Thursday and probably removed whatever needed to be removed. Fortunately, my browser hasn't crashed since then.
BTW, below is a link to a help and support forum:

Emmy,
I run Ad-Aware, Spyware Blaster and AVG Anti-Spyware, as well as System Mechanic almost daily.
I'm going to bookmark that forum you posted for future reference. We just got my son a new computer which runs Vista, and we're having trouble getting it networked with the DSL with Bellsouth. A lot of the routers aren't ready for Vista. We got a netgear router.
Okay, I tried Hijackthis but I really don't understand how to use it. Do you post a logfile on a help forum somewhere and have it analyzed?

Yes,
Gypsy, after you've ran HJT, just copy the scan results and post them in this forum (Security: Removing Spyware and Viruses). Below is the link:
http://www.windowsbbs.com/forumdisplay.php?f=41You have to register, though, to be able to post. But post only if you are encountering anything you don't normally do when using your computer (e.g. your browser crashes or you are getting error messages or your computer is running slow even though you're not getting error messages.
