I want to be there. But I also want to be in Birmingham. I live 2 hours north of New Orleans just a few miles from I-59 which is the most direct route from New Orleans to Birmingham. So I'm totally perplexed on what the best plan would be. It seems silly to stay in New Orleans overnight and then drive 350 miles to Birmingham the next day when I could drive 110 miles that night and then 240 to Birmingham the next day. So I'm going to buy a ticket to each and worry about it later. :rotfl:

Well, I have friends who drive to their weekend home 5 hours every week..it's very worth it as this could be a chance in a lifetime! Especially to see LiMBO in Birmingham and hopefully The Last Goodnight in New Orleans-plus Josh!! Loveloveloving our E!! He gives us everything and works so hard..so this is the least we can do--be there to cheer him on--like it's a sacrifice, lol! We are driving 4 hours to New Orleans, 5 hours to Birmingham, then 7 hours to Orlando but very happy about it! Please try! If the concert gets out late in NO, that could be a terrible drive home....well, glad you will be doing both one way or another!

Please join us on our adventure to see Elliott in NO, Birmingham and Orlando. Just to see Elliott, it will be something I will treasure forever. As AngELL said, Elliott has given so much and works so hard, it is the least we can do to let him know how much we love and support him.
I live near Baton Rouge, app. 70 miles from NO. I plan to spend the night in NO also. Then drive to Birmingham the next day and then on to Disney 2 days later for HOB Orlando, only 1 month after a family vacation to Disney.
I would seriously think about spending the night in NO and you could join our caravan to Birmingham the next day. Taking into account the length of the concert, I would reconsider driving home that night.

Oh, yes!! Please come with us! Also would love to meet more E-Trainers in New Orleans if you could come-- HOB is right in the French Quarter with all the chicory coffee, beignets, po'boys, muffalettas, Bananas Foster--the French Market, Cafe du Monde!! Should be wonderful--and we can do our part to help the New Orleans economy get back on its feet!

I'll be driving nearly 1300 miles one way in less than two weeks to see Elliott. Well, not just to see Elliott since I'll be stopping to see my sisters on the way, attending a Brad Paisley concert the day before, and playing in a Scrabble tournament the 3 days after, but I probably wouldn't be doing it if Elliott weren't part of the mix.

I have friends that let me drag them to concerts of artists they're never heard of before, but standing shoulder to shoulder for three acts wouldn't be acceptable to any of them, so I most likely will be doing this alone. And I'm not sure how well I can handle New Orleans and Birmingham back to back. So I'm going to buy a ticket to each of them although I may end up going to only one of them.

I've driven to New Orleans numerous times and to Birmingham probably even more times. It's 115 miles to New Orleans and 237 (I know that one by heart) to the downtown exits of Birmingham from my house. I'll really have to think hard about it.

You need to do whatever is best for you, that's for sure..you are a wonderful Etrainer and Elliott-fan! Hope to get to meet you soon!

I'd love to do the "mini tour" but with a 14 month old toddler all we can work in is the show in Birmingham. It's about the same distance for us to Nasvhille and my hubby works on Fridays but is off on the Birmingham show.

Haha!! Problem solved thanks to the angel (was it you Angell?) on my shoulder. I just got a call from a friend who lives in Slidell and who I hadn't heard from since March. She agreed to attend the New Orleans concert with me and I have no problem with driving home from Slidell late at night. So I might be going to both of them after all. Wahoo!!!!

I got my tickets for the HOB in New Orleans. I did the virtual tour on their web site and it looks like a really great venue. My friend lives in Slidell and works in New Orleans, so instead of backtracking, she is going to meet me there. It's only a 2-hour drive for me, so I can get there at almost any time if other E-tainers (Angell and Sandyb I know for sure) are going, maybe we could arange a meeting time and place.

Onlyforelliott, it will be great to meet you. Yes, we will plan a meeting beforehand. Let's definitely get together. We will have a wonderful time, I just know it!
Will you also spend the night in NO and go to Birmingham the next day as we have planned?
