Title: Elliott Was Amazing In Haverhill, Ma
Description: Just got got home from concert
efan22 - August 19, 2007 05:28 AM (GMT)
WOW! just got back from Haverhill Rocks and Elliott was AMAZING! His voice was better than I ever heard it on every single song. When he sang ONE WORD, he said it will be the next single. AND at the "meet and greet" I got a hug and he was just incredibly nice. When the flash on my camera didn't work, he insisted on fixing it and taking another picture!! He really is AMAZING!!
KittyloverforElliott - August 19, 2007 05:33 AM (GMT)
I got to meet him in Portland, Ore, and he really is that nice. I am glad you had a good time. Wish I could have been there.

Etrainrider - August 19, 2007 01:07 PM (GMT)
Hey Everyone!
I was there last night too and am so glad I choose to go to this event. It was a beautiful coolish night and Elliott was simply breathtaking. The surroundings were beautiful too. A castle high on a hill, near a lake with woods all around, I felt like I was in a fairy tale.
I arrived late in the day as I had another event earlier in the day that I did not want to miss so I was glad when I heard Elliott wouldn't perform until 7:00 and his mee t & greet with VIPs would follow that. Yes, I oculd have seen the show for a mere five bucks but it was worth it to me to get to meet Elliott. I received a pkg. of goodies along with my VIP badge to wear around my neck and prime parking. I also got to sit upfront in the chairs. Was in the 3rd or 4th row I think.
When they said Elliott's bus was pulling in there was a stampede of kids that went running towards the bus. So cute! They ushered Elliott into the castle where he relaxed a bit and prepared for the performance while Russell and the keyboardist went through their souncheck. At one time Elliott peeked through a window high up in the castle and everyone starting screaming and waving it was the cutest thing ever! I saw lots of peeps, both kids and adults with their homemade Elliott shirts on. Lots of love there for Elliott.
Soon the show started with Trainwreck. Squee! One of my favorites. Then Movin' On, One Word, Find a Way, I'm in Love with You Forever, Take My Breath Away and WFY. Nore sure if I left one out or not. Elliott was so on vocally and looked so happy. He was waving and smiling and had his eyes open a lot more which I like to see. We need to see those baby blues E!
Before Elliott even went on stage. One of the organziers reiterated the story of how Elliott was brought to Haverhill with the mix-up and how he agreed to cut his rate. He then said Elliott even turned down a chance to sing for the Red Sox yesterday as he was already committed to the Haverhill performance. Hopefully Elliott will get another chance as the Fenway faithful would love him.
Then it was time for the meet and greet. All our tags were numbered. I think in the order we purchased the VIP passes. Groups of 30 went up at time. While we waited we were treated to platters of food which included chicken wings, dips, pitas, pate, crackers, They also had water and soda for us and tables to sit at. (This wall taking place in the castle). Now I was like # 154 so I had a while to wait, but Elliott was worth every minute. Bought a shirt while a waited, and chatted with people.
When it was my turn I got a hug, a picture and he signed my CD. Forgot to bring the NOW CD. Oh well. I told him he did all my favorite songs and I was so happy to be there finally meeting him. He was just as sweet and gracious with the last people as he was with the first ones. My pics aren't uploaded yet but later I'll get a few on here.
All in all, it was a magical evening with Elliott at a Castle and I felt like a princess for a night. Thanks Elliott! Fairy-tales do come true!
:awe:

It is an evil conspiracy I tell you. Kat fans abducted Elliott and brainwashed him to say it.

Thank you for the recap. Am I weeping over reading it because I'm so happy for you or because I'm so envious of you? Okay, so maybe it's both - no really, I'm just happy for you and the way you wrote it put me right there so I'm crying because I feel close to Elliott thanks to you.

Thank you so much for the beautiful recap....what a night for you!
This whole story still amazes me how he ended up performing at Haverhill. What an upstanding guy! I am sure everyone enjoyed the show.
What a great evening it must have been with this clear cool northeast weather!

My recap is under the Scheduled Appeareance Forum. It was active there last nite but the Mods added several new pinned topics which kicked it back a few pages. I have asked to have it moved. You can read it there for now.
He was amazing as usual.

Someone said they could get Elliott to perform at their concert for 25 thousand dollars. It turns out they didn't even know him or his managment. When the concert producers found out they contacted Elliott's managment and told them the story. The team said that Elliott never heard about it and that price was not feasible at all.
Elliott got a hold of this story and told his team he was going to do it for a severe pay cut. He also agreed to a meet and greet and a special VIP session.
Elliott saved the day and it shows just how truly amazing he is.

They also announced at the concert in Haverhill that Elliott gave up singing at the Red Sox game to honor his obligation to Haverhill. Quite a guy.

Is there one team he hasn't sung either the National Anthem or God Bless America for? I wonder when football season starts if he is going to expand that to the NFL. I am way envious of Elliott. It is my dream to visit every mlb park.

OG there was an article posted here from the Haverhill paper which basically explained the situation.
BAsically, in a nutshell, some bogus promoter said they could get Elliott to Haverhill at some ridiculously low price when they had no contact with Elliott's people. Then when the Haverhill Rocks people did talk to E's people they said that no he usually doesn't appear at that price but he felt bad about it and decided to come anyway.

ohioguy45780 - August 19, 2007 01:57 PM (GMT)
Thanks for the info, Mike. I knew something was up with that, but have been on vacation. There was a similar scam a few years ago in my college town. According to Monet in the article, these scams happen quite a bit.
Good will begets good will. Elliott also probably earned lifetime fans from those in attendance. He may only clear a few thousand after taxes and percentages to managers and crew, but the overall benefit is priceless.

Hey Mike, if you visit our NFL thread down in the off-topic forum, you'll see that a few of us would be happy to follow E around to all the games to report back on his singing. I get the Bears and Elliottcrazy gets the Jags, and I forget who right now, but there is another e-trainer who has the rest of the NFC North covered with her family. I hope Elliott will be at as many NFL games this year as MLB because the likelihood of me catching his performance is much greater.

I love the fact that the young generation are such BIG Elliott fans, but to be honest... I don't like standing in front of them when they're squealing :rotfl: It's like being at a Beatles concert.
You Go Elliott!!! :fangirly:

Etrain Rider that was a great write up! It WAS like a fairy tale. I loved every second of it! I will post pictures later. Wish I could figure out how to put my video online. I video taped the concert and it came out great. I can't stop watching it!!
