thanks... not really into the song though =3
i wonder why its called tattoo... she only says tattoo like 4-5 times...

AvivaDove - August 24, 2007 04:20 AM (GMT)
She sounds alot like Kat, similar sound effects too.

Rutti - August 24, 2007 12:36 PM (GMT)
I was more impressed with her on the show than I am with this single.

dtrowbridge - August 24, 2007 12:46 PM (GMT)
I thought the song started slowly, but got better.

"your on my heart just like a tatoo, I'll always have you" Thus the title. might appeal to our tatoo crazy teenagers.

Good luck to Jordan.

It did sound like a song by Kat until the end, when she hits that power note like Jordan can and Kat can't...that one strong note.

ElliottCat101 - August 24, 2007 02:24 PM (GMT)
I see what you guys are talking about with the Kat comparison -- this song is heavily produced, and so are all of Kats. Also, this song is much younger than anything Jordin ever sang on the show.

But unlike Kats first single, I can completely picture this being played on my local radio station. I honestly think this could be a hit, especially if she gets the promotion she (as the winner) deserves.

Thanks MJ! You are always on it girl with the new tunes!

I really like this song has a nice melody/beat to it. I agree ecat, I think it will be a hit.

harleywoman - August 24, 2007 04:33 PM (GMT)
I like I think it will be a hit. I love her voice. I read it somewhere, that it's produced by Stargate.

Is that the same Strargate that scored a major hit with that fantastic new R&B singer Elliott Yamin??

Jordin’s first single, titled “Tattoo,” will be released to U.S. radio on August 27, while her debut album is slated for a November 2007 release. The album was produced by Stargate (who previously wrote songs for Béyonce, Ne-Yo and Elliott Yamin) and co-written with Amanda Ghost (James Blunt’s “Beautiful” and “Beautiful Liar” with Beyonce and Shakira).

ElliottisTrueBlue - August 24, 2007 07:00 PM (GMT)
It's okay, but nothing wow-worthy. Good luck to her though!

ohioguy45780 - August 24, 2007 08:21 PM (GMT)
...you're on my heart....just like a tattoo...

ah, isn't that brilliantly written???? :rotfl:

umbrella...ella...ella...ella.....

terriberriez - August 24, 2007 08:56 PM (GMT)
It's bland and generic. It should do well on the radio! lol Jordin can sing but she bored me on Idol.

amandarhea - August 24, 2007 11:27 PM (GMT)
I think it is great. Its a younger song which is good. She is actually talking about something besides. lip gloss, and umbrellas. She is going to do good. I really think she could make a hit with this. Guys i knwo someone said they thought she was boring on idol. She is far form that on the tour. I thnk if she gets the right amount of promotion she is going to be a star.

efan78 - August 25, 2007 12:57 AM (GMT)
I like it. It reminds me of some of Kimberley Locke's songs.

elliottisamazing - August 26, 2007 04:42 AM (GMT)
[B]I like it.

ElliottRocks06 - August 26, 2007 06:32 AM (GMT)
I really like the song. I don't however like the comparisons to Kat. I'm sorry but there is a mile difference. I like Jordin. Jordin is likable while someone else is not.

efan78 - August 29, 2007 01:19 AM (GMT)
I found a high quality version with lyrics. After looking at the lyrics, I like it even more now.

#59 on iTunes today.

efan78 - September 27, 2007 02:02 AM (GMT)
Wow! Up to #59 already!

I think the song is a refreshing change from the angry pop and slutty pop that has been dominating Top 40 radio lately.

Jarvs - September 27, 2007 10:36 AM (GMT)
Now at #44

I like it. It reminds me of some of Kimberley Locke's songs.

Come to think of it Jordin herself reminds me a bit of Kimberly Locke.

God i hate that song umbrella. This one is better than that.

I am sure it has undertones of a Kat sound because the production is all similar on these CD's.

Jarvs - September 28, 2007 03:32 AM (GMT)
Tattoo is now at #29 on iTunes...

efan78 - September 29, 2007 07:39 PM (GMT)

Jordin's single has gotten a good review from Billboard:

ElliottisTrueBlue - October 7, 2007 11:43 PM (GMT)
I'm surprised! I thought they would talk about it being kind of a musical rip-off of "Irreplaceable" but whatever.

mominny - October 8, 2007 10:11 PM (GMT)
I heard this today for the first time! I like it and Jordin does a great job with it. I do hear Kat undertones in it, but Jordin's voice, to me, has more range and is stronger.

I hope Jordin is a huge success.

Dominar - October 9, 2007 01:02 AM (GMT)
I heard this today for the first time. While I didn't mind it, I'm afraid it was ultimately forgettable. It doesn't seem to have much of a catch to it.

I think the song is rather catchy. I can't get it out of my mind. I guess people hear things differently.
