Title: Omg This Kid Is Amazing!!! (singing Wfy)

ladycentaur - September 5, 2007 10:53 AM (GMT)
Okay, this boy who looks to be about 12 years old is singing WFY in this video. If you check out his other videos you can see him on stage playing guitar and singing, playing the drums, playing the piano and singing. This kid is incredibly gifted and I hope that he gets discovered because you can just tell that he feels music right down to his bones.

Here's another one of him singing Brian McKnight while brushing his teeth...he forgot the words...very cute. We're going to be seeing a lot more of this kid in the future.

Hey! He's actually quite good! :) He lists "Elliott Yammin" as one of his influences, too ;)

Yes, he's extremely good. If you look at his other videos he does Aretha Franklin Respect, Alicia Keys Fallin', even Sarah McLachlan Angel. This kid plays guitar, drums and piano AND he can dance, too. He's got almost 30 videos. I hope this kid gets discovered because he's got so much talent. He works the stage well, too. I suspect we'll all be seeing more of him in the years to come.

Here's and original song he wrote. It's sorta gospel-ish, but apparently he writes songs and music as well...and he's actually 13.

Here's another one...and he talks a little bit...what a SWEET kid...if only all teenagers were like this kid. He's left handed and has the guitar upside down and backwards, lol. What a cutie.

Aaaawww, he definitely has raw talent =)! There's also a video of him singing an acoustic version of Ne-yo's So Sick... some parts almost brought tears to my eyes.. (acoustic songs usually do that to me though ;-) )

For anyone interested...

Ne-yo's So Sick (in case youve never heard it ... its also produced by Stargate)

It makes my heart smile everytime I see a child so passionate about something. You can tell the music is in his soul, kinda like someone else we know.....;) I can see big things from this young man, and he would surely deserve it!!

xxoo

ladycentaur - September 5, 2007 02:04 PM (GMT)
Both of my sons play the guitar and the amazing thing about this boy Justin is that he plays left handed using a right handed guitar. That means he has to play the strings upside down and in reverse and he has learned how to do it. The natural talent he has is just undeniable. If he had a good vocal coach and a left handed guitar he would be even better. He also can play the piano and dance. It's not that often that you find someone who can play multiple instruments well, sing so well AND be able to dance too not to mention write music and lyrics. I hope this kid gets discovered because music is in his blood, you can just tell.

If I had the money I'd buy the kid a left handed guitar, lol.

I'll look forward to hearing him sing in the future. It will be interesting to see what he sounds like after he hits puberty :-)

I know...I've been watching his videos for 3 hours now, lol. He plays piano and drums too...and air saxophone in the Respect Video...hehe. He dedicates one of the songs he wrote to two homeless guys he met...and you can just tell he is such a sweet kid. I hope the kid gets a left handed guitar so he can practice playing the strings and chords right side up, lol. The thinner strings are supposed to be on the bottom and the thicker strings on top with thinner being higher notes and thicker being lower. For notes on the guitar you have to hold your fingers on different strings while strumming, and this kid has to place his fingers upside down and backwards from how they are supposed to be in order to get the right notes. Just coordinating his fingers that way has to be hard enough, but learning an entire song upside down and backwards is quite an achievement. He should go on a talk show and maybe they will give him a left handed guitar, lol.

on edit...I think I got the string placement backwards but am too lazy to go back and fix it, lol.

Did he? I didn't know that. He must have been a south paw too. :)

A self-taught guitarist, Hendrix usually played a Fender Stratocaster guitar turned upside down (so that the right-handed guitar could be played left-handed) and restrung to suit him.

It says that Hendrix had his guitars re-strung. I wonder if he originally played by doing what this kid Justin is doing. I would think it would be pretty difficult to play backwards and upside down.

Thanks for all of the links. Very entertaining. It's great that so many kids love to sing, play and dance to Elliott's music. Some do it very well.

sigh...another thread showing something most members will want to see moved where very few will see it. I'm not going to even bother posting these things anymore. :(

LC, thanks so much for posting that. Is there anything this kid can't do? He should definitely try out for America's Got Talent!! Unbelievable. Again, thanks.

He's really, really good. Cute too. I love the tonal quality of his voice. I wonder if he's in a boy's choir. Yeah, we are going to hear alot more from him, wouldn't be surprised if Disney picks this kid up soon.
I was trying to find the video..and so I googled youtube and 12 year old boy singing wait for you. I was surprised there were so many kids and people out there singing Elliott's song on youtube. I'm sure y'all know about them, but I didn't..here's a link. This is really cool. I didn't get Justin, but here's the boy that came up on my search. He's really good and cute too. He sure brings a smile to my face.
