Title: One Word
Description: When you hear it, contact radio pronto

Here's what Ryan Seacrest had to say about Britney Spears' new single release, which actually was lukewarm starting out the first few days. :
"As for a Britney comeback, he said: "The reaction on the radio wasn't overwhelming, but I do think that people are warming up to that single. The first day, compared to this morning -- it's definitely growing and the feedback is getting better." "
Radio pays VERY CLOSE attention to the first few days/week of play.
Thus, we need to POUNCE once we begin hearing ONE WORD on the radio, just like WFY.
I'm sure the etrain will be all countdowns, call-ins, song vs. song contests, polls and such once again when the new single hits. It's very important to continue the trend we started with WFY, as second singles are sometimes make-or-break.
With ONE WORD, we need , what one program director called "instant #1 phones!", once again.

Absolutelyl - this one maybe even more importantly than the last - because we have to prove that Wait for You wasn't a fluke!

Yep, we'll have to be just as persistent w/ request for OW once it is released to continue his momentum.
Interesting what Ryan said about BSpears. Yesterday on Sirius Hits1 the dj said something to the effect that they're giving it spins now but it isn't expected to keep being played....

Yep - this is one case of getting spins because of the sensational value of who she is - we'll see if the public catches on and likes it.

I guess I know what I'll be doing this FALL!!

Carving 'One Word' into pumpkins? That would be a great way to get the word out! :)

YES! I would never want to hear Elliott be called a "one hit wonder". *shudders*

I agree..I'm quite nervous actually because this next release really is more important than WFY....in so MANY ways.
I've asked this before...do we think OW is going to take the West to East coast route again? & if so should people on the East Coast wait to call in & request? & when does OW 'officially' drop? Also, what mistakes did we make the first time around that we won't repeat with OW?
I remember to NOT call stations out of your immediate area...one e-mail a day is enough. How about when OW drops..we contact the AC & HAC stations much earlier this time around? I know I'm stating the obvious but it's still worth mentioning.

I think he has laid an awful lot of groundwork on his own. He did the radio tours and the word has been that the programmers and dj's really liked him and thought he was really nice so I am sure that goodwill is going to go a long way this time out. If you have a hit...they are also more likely to play the follow up.
AND
He needs to keep up the TV appearances...I was thinking...and I hope someone on his team is also...and maybe they are since the dates would coincide...
The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade...he is in the NY/Conn area the day before Thanksgiving...that would be great exposure and One Word would be in full swing by then. That would be amazing exposure. And you bet your giblets Etrainers would brave the crowds and the cold to show him some E Love along the route!!

I'm personally hoping Target is continuing their sponsorship of the Today Show Holiday Concert series.....

Right on, OG - I was thinking the same thing. And, Rick, I also agree with you about the Macy's Parade. Great exposure.

Richmond is already playing ONE WORD. It is # 161 on the TOP 40 chart. Wait For You was first played in Richmond too. The song is on Format there.
