I think Rocket Summer was the CEO of Viacom
Corey Crowder was the other Corey that hung out with Corey Haim and had his privates diddled with by Michael Jackson.
And Spencer Rush was the Australian actor from Shine
I didn't even know they sang!!

I voted, but only once. And it's been posted somewhere here, but not sure where.

Here is the link to the E-Train thread about this event. It includes a recap, pictures and video which included Elliott briefly.

Wow! Wonderful find, thanks for bringing that here.

Has anyone else here heard Sean Kingston perform live? I had the misfortune of seeing him open for Kids Day at the US Open this year. And MAN, it was enormously painful. Dude was off-key on almost every note, out of breath constantly.
JackieB - September 7, 2007 03:27 PM (GMT)
I watched him on the Today show and he was just awful live.
auggiegirl - September 7, 2007 03:29 PM (GMT)
Thx, linda! Elliott is and always will be the BEST! I had goosebumps from head to toe listening/watching him.

That's interesting about Sean Kingston. I wasn't impressed with the little bit I saw of him on the Youtube video. Way to go E!!!!!!

I like Sean Kingston so much. I'm disappointed to hear that he doesn't do as well live. I think he's a fresh face, a good sound, and he's only 17. I think he comes off as a sweetie in his interviews.
Linda4Elliott - September 7, 2007 07:11 PM (GMT)
There are a couple of SK vids in this thread. Definitely not good live. WAY off key through the whole song...

Well, he is only 17. Not a lot of 17-year-olds have it all together as live performers. He has time to improve ... unlss his stuff doesn't succeed as the record execs hope and they crumple him up like used tissue and dispose of him before he gets the chance to find his footing. That's the fate he should probably worry about, I expect. He's seen as a malleable tool by the industry, I'm sure, at his age, despite his family music connections. Not an enviable position to be in.

Not picking on you applesauce, but the "he's only 17 "arguement was pretty much used up on Jordin this year on AI. While these young kids have talent, and deinitely a future in music, I don't see the rush. Why can't they take a little time to find out who they are musically, develop their craft a little more. Get some voice lessons and coaching. It's almost not fair to them to expect them to be on the samw level as some of their contemporaries.
I see how the music industry wants to capitalize on youth though, with the popularity of kids like Miley Cyrus, Zach Effron. But we don't have to look further than the likes of Britney and Lindsay to see how some kids react to too much, too young. There are certinly kids that don't have their problems and do just fine but I think the young age at which these kids must deal with stardom is definitely an issue.

Does anyone else remember Hayden Panetierre ("Heroes") on the "Capitol Fourth" special? Her live singing skills are VERY weak -- she's got an album coming out so apparently they did a LOT of work on her voice in the studio.

I agree with you, but my point was that the rush was not SK's , it was the industry execs.' ... A 17-year-old doesn't make the decision to push himself as the next big thing. He hasn't got the power. .... (not that 17-year-olds don't think they're ready -- but they are not the ones that ever get to make that decision)
What I'm saying is that they've pushed him, for their own reasons, but if he shows the weaknesses that are only to be expected of a 17-year-old, they're likely to crumple him up and toss him aside like used kleenex. Most likely, they won't have any patience with his weaknesses, but they're pinning bucks and the hope of bucks on him that make an unfair burden for a young teenager. I see a lot of people casting him as a jerk and a villain and not as good as he might be, but in my opinion he's a victim, and he could end up getting an unfairly truncated career because they're expecting too much of him too soon.
