Title: Chicago Etrainer's!!!
Description: anyone got plans?

bigEfan - September 30, 2007 02:05 PM (GMT)
Hi all, just seeing if there are any other etrainer's going to the Park West show. WOOO HOOO.....a girlfriend and I are headed up from Springfield area Friday mornin...ROAD TRIP! We waited too long apparently for hotel room reservations and everything near the venue is booked. Any etrainer's know of outside area hotels...nice ones...that would be close to the metra? And does the metra come close to the Park West? Also, does anyone know if the radio station promo tixs are reserved? I thought this was general admit but the tixs I've got say "dance" like in dance floor or by the stage....just curious.

After the year and a half I've had, this is something I'm actually excited about. I'm wondering if they have meet and greet tixs? I could really use a E hug! :elliottcap:

I think the Chicago marathon is that weekend so the hotel rooms are all taken . Unfortunately , I have to go to a wedding in Az. so I cant go to see Elliott. You could try any of the town on the metro line. (West) Aurora,Naperville, Downers Grove, or South ( Orland Park , and sorry dont know others) Good luck and have fun. The concerts dont last late so anything an hr or so out from there would work. :fangirly:

JackieB - September 30, 2007 10:26 PM (GMT)
I'm flying in from AZ for that show and like already posted, I found out about the marathon when I tried to book a room quite a while ago, so even if you'd known 2 months ago, it would have been tough. I wanted to stay right near the Parkwest, too, but it's not going to happen. I did find a couple of hotels within walking distance, but they weren't very nice. I decided to stay at the Omni - it's nice and not that far. I love walking around in the city, so I wanted to stay closer, but the rooms for the marathon were probably booked 6 months ago so we never stood a chance. I am SO SO SO excited.

I'M GOING!!!!!!
i can't wait! I was wondering the same thing about the tickets...I'm not sure either.

JackieB - October 1, 2007 12:52 PM (GMT)
Hey, for those of you local to Chicago still, what stations have been promoting Elliott's show? Have you heard it being promoted in any way? I sure hope he has a huge crowd for his opening night or he'll be let down after all that fabulousness in the Philippines!

mt3136 - October 1, 2007 08:20 PM (GMT)
The Park West has minimal seating on the main floor and in the balcony. It's basically first come first serve for the seating. I received this information when I stopped by the Park West this morning to pick up my tickets.

Sadly, I have not heard anything on the radio, Jackie

I can't go to the concert either.....I have a workshop on personality testing I got confirmed for way before the concert. I'm outright devastated because I hate to admit....I've yet to hear Elliott live. UGH. Hopefully next time :(

You won't want to sit.

I will be bringing a 6-year old Elliott fan on Friday. I hope that he doesn't get trampled by the taller fans!

WTMX (HAC station) mentioned the concert this morning during a recap of all the concerts for the week. Elliott was in the middle of about 15 others, but at least he was included. Some of their DJs have been mentioning the show after playing WFY.

Also the station had a contest to win a pair of tickets in their member newsletter:

Here's what's happening at THE MIX...

MIX Insiders can win tickets to see the Elliott Yamin in concert on Friday, October 5 at Chicago's Park West!

B96 (Rhythmic station) was giving away tickets a few weeks ago.

That's all I've heard.

JackieB - October 2, 2007 05:28 AM (GMT)
Thx Klo - I'm sure hoping he gets a big crowd!

klo129 - October 2, 2007 02:36 PM (GMT)
Glad there's no Cubs' game. I hope there's a good crowd.

Really? Wow, I guess I haven't been listening to the stations often enough

bigEfan - October 2, 2007 11:41 PM (GMT)
Ya, they're promoting it a bit on the MIX...that's how I found out about the presale tixs....I'm calling them to see about meet and greets and if the special tixs are actually dance floor seats or general admit. I don't know why they'd say "dance" if they were just general admit.

Well, after a heck of a time finding a hotel for both nights...me a my friend are staying clear out by St Charles. Gonna just try to take the metra in to the concert...less hassle. There's a lot goin on around Chicago this weekend it seems. I wonder when the Cubs are back...I know they play Wed, Thurs in Arizona...my hubby was thinkin they'd be back in Chicago on Friday??? We found out there's an October Fest in Naperville and a big flea market in St Charles area...thus why my girlfriend wants to stay there...lol.

All I know is, I better get me an E hug or I will come away feeling deprived...lol. I haven't had something to get excited about in such a long time. It's been a rough year and a half. Just losing dad is still taking it's tole and maybe E can help take my mind of all the crap if only for 1 night. :awe:

bigEfan - October 5, 2007 03:20 AM (GMT)
OK...I'm officially rarin to go now....I just finished 2 E tshirts for tomorrow night. I screwed up my black one but have 2 white ones. They're not the best, but this was my first time trying to make them...lol. Now, if I can only get to sleep! I might be like JackieB and need a redbull before the concert! Wish me luck on getting an E hug! :grouphug:

nanab - October 5, 2007 03:46 AM (GMT)
Have a wonderful time... :elliottcap:

bigEfan - October 5, 2007 04:30 AM (GMT)
Ok, just a question...if doors open at 6pm and first show is at 7pm....what time would you all think we should get to the venue? I was thinkin around 5 pm but I don't know if that is soon enough. I thought my tixs said Dance floor but now that I printed them out it says general admit. I heard there's not a bad spot at this venue BUT I want to be up close and personal!! Any suggestions peeps?
:grouphug:

bigEfan - October 5, 2007 04:31 AM (GMT)
Jackie...I'll protect you if you save me a spot!!! :rotfl:

bigEfan - October 5, 2007 04:33 AM (GMT)
I know I'm rambling but now I do see "dance" on my tixs. I'm calling them now to see what the heck! :rotfl:

mt3136 - October 5, 2007 04:46 AM (GMT)
You guys are freaking me out with all of your talk about arrival times! I was going to leave my house at 6 pm and I just have a half hour drive even during rush hour. Should I leave earlier? Maybe I should at least be there by the time the doors open at 6.

Yes....that is a good idea.

If you are driving in you had better plan on plenty of time to find a parking space. There is no valet or garage that I can think of and also on a Friday night plan on enough time to travel into the city from the burbs. I think 2 hours for travel and parking ..if catching a cab from Union Station the rides are pretty plentiful. Have a Ball...the weather is gonna be great and it will be a memorable night , I am sure! Love that Elliott!!

No sleeping in AZ! I would like to be in line around 5, I'm thinking. The doors open at 6, and the parkwest site lists the time starting as 7:30. I'm betting the show starts at 8 with Josh, 8:30 will be TLG and our Man at 9. So a reasonable time to wake up for that is 3 a.m. right?

Is it still supposed to sprinkle or rain this afternoon?

Have a BLAST everyone! At both of the concerts that I went to (Innsbrook and Philly) I got in line around 4 oclock. At Innsbrook I got front row seats in a crowd of 6-7k and at Philly I met Elliott before the concert. It's a chance of a lifetime, so if you are able, get there way early.

bigEfan - October 5, 2007 01:00 PM (GMT)
4 minutes and I'm out the door. I'm starting to freak out thinking I've forgotten something! Tickets-check, clothes-check, camera-check, directions-check, concert tshirts-check.... :rotfl: I'm sweating like a pig right now....time to hit the road.... :elliottporsche: (don't have a porche, but a Buick will do, right?)

SoulMusicRocks - October 5, 2007 06:38 PM (GMT)
Have lots of fun tonight everyone. I can't wait to hear how it all went. I would have gone to this one or maybe Milwaukee, but.....joy to scheduling a workshop way too far in advance to know about these concerts! lol.
