Title: Calling Madison!
JackieB - October 7, 2007 01:53 PM (GMT)
Where oh where are you?? Give us a little sumpin'-sumpin'!!
dkrajicek - October 7, 2007 03:18 PM (GMT)
I'm hoping for news, too. It's is the next best thing to being there.
ohioguy45780 - October 7, 2007 08:45 PM (GMT)
did this even occur? Like a tree falling in the woods... if no etrainers attend, did this really happen? LOL

You mean Elliott can have a concert without us? :rotfl: I would really be interested in what happened, on the other hand I am ecstatic that his fan base is so large that a concert on the tour can happen even "without our help" :rotfl:
JackieB - October 7, 2007 08:53 PM (GMT)
No, that can't be it. Rather, he must have been so flippin' delicious that they are all following the tour bus to the next show. It's the only explanation I'll accept! ;)
PoorMe - October 7, 2007 09:43 PM (GMT)
I know Sunny was planning to attend. She was driving from the Twin Cities area, so she's most likely traveling back home today.
kagey - October 7, 2007 09:59 PM (GMT)
Well the afternoon dj at Q94 while introducing Elliott's new single OW said that Elliott sure gets around he sees him everywhere and he thinks he saw Elliott at Daddy O's last night although he was pretty drunk but was pretty positive it was Elliott! haha, I thought that was funny, an E spotting here in Richmond when the man was in Wisconsin....or was he?
JackieB - October 7, 2007 10:34 PM (GMT)
Here's proof they made it to Wisconsin:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9SHrl-aYacIt's photos of Josh, TLG and Elliott at the Majestic.
lindagt - October 7, 2007 10:46 PM (GMT)
You are quite a wonderful sleuth Jackie! Well that settles it - he wasn't here in Richmond last night - he was in the heartland and wearing a lumberjack shirt.
harleywoman - October 7, 2007 10:59 PM (GMT)
Great find Jackie. :cheerleader1:
ohioguy45780 - October 7, 2007 11:21 PM (GMT)
...well, at least it occurred; maybe not the most well-attended of venues....LOL
I see one single girl in the corner of one photo, so we know at least two people showed up.
:-)
If there's any eTrainers that went.... woo-hoo... give us a recap.
bigEfan - October 8, 2007 02:33 AM (GMT)
I knew I should have went! Then y'all would have had another very interesting recap..lol! Well, probably not as good cuz I really wasn't quite up to par on Saturday! :rotfl:
Linda4Elliott - October 8, 2007 03:55 AM (GMT)
I saw quite a few comments on Elliott's myspace from people who were at the show. I can't believe we don't have a recap, though.....
Rosebud9802 - October 8, 2007 04:09 PM (GMT)
My mom, little brother, and myself attended the Elliott concert in Madison and it was GREAT!! I went to the concert in Minneapolis this past summer and felt both were TERRIFIC. I drove 4 1/2 hours to see Elliott. We made some stops on the way home and did not get back until 7:00 last night. I was suprised to find out how much I like the music of The Last Goodnight. I even downloaded some of their songs from iTunes. Elliott came out after the concert to sign autographs and take pictures. I had Elliott sign my CD, and felt he is just so sweet. My pictures did not turn out very well because the venue was soooo dark.

I had to work until 2:00p.m. on Saturday, October 6th. Therefore, my family and I did not end of leaving until 3:00p.m. I wanted to get to Madison as fast as possible, so we only stopped once. I had directions straight to the Majestic Theatre. However, even with the Mapquest directions we still could not find the Majestic. We drove around in circles until we decided to find the hotel. We found the hotel and decided to check-in and get directions back to the Majestic Theatre. We finally made it to the Majestic around 8:00p.m. Josh Hoge did not start singing until about 8:20p.m., in which he played five songs. There was a short set change. The Last Goodnight came out around 9:15p.m. and played for about 45-minutes. The stage at the Majestic is rather small. The Last Goodnight consists of six band members, so there was not much room on the stage. I really enjoyed The Last Goodnight. The set change between The Last Goodnight and Elliott Yamin took a little bit longer, but the wait was worth it. Elliott's band members came out and started to play and then finally Elliott came out on the stage with lots of applause. Elliott mentioned that some of the proceeds from his t-shirt sales will go to a charity for Diabetes. Elliott's performances were great. I enjoyed Wait For You, One Word, and A Song for You the best. A Song for You was Elliott's encore song.
Elliott came out after the concert to sign autographs and take pictures. He is just so sweet and humble. Watching him on American Idol for so many months and seeing him guest appearance on all of the teleivsion shows and then having him standing there right beside you is just so GREAT!!
Throughout the night Josh Hoge, The Last Goodnight, and Elliott's band members made there way into the crowd. They were all very friendly, signed autographs, and took pictures with whoever asked.
I was going to try comparing the concert in Madison with the one in Minneapolis, but both were EXCELLENT.
It was well worth it the 4 1/2 hour drive down to Madison to see Elliott. I hope he continues to be succesful and to tour. I am really excited to hear 'One Word' play on the radio.
--Sorry, this post endd up being sooooo long.

I just wanted to add that I went to the concert in Chicago with some friends from work. Elliott was nothing short of amazing. The whole audience was singing. Sure wish the white fingers were avaidlable. It would have been cool to see the whole venue with them pointing to Elliott as amazing.
Anyway, I spent some time at the merchandise table, E-concert virgin that we all were. (LOL) Anyway, I picked up this small poster that explained about the charity cause E is involved in. Inspried by Diabetes it is called and two charities, Life of a Child (international) and the ADA summer camps for kids with diabetes are beneficiaries.
There is a black t shirt with a blue circle on it and then a blue circle pin available for purchase. All the proceeds from those two items, Elliott is donating to this effort. The Life of a Child provides insulin to kids in third world countries who cannot afford it.
So, we all bought shirts and a bunch of pins. Would love to see at the end of the tour Elliott be able to give a big check to this charity knowing his fans along the way were a part of it. I walked out of the venue feeling like I was just part of something very special. Not just the voice which was of course beyond amazing but the heart of the man really came through.

Welcome to the Etrain, AV!! Thanks for your report! :-)

Thanks for the added recap info, Rosebud9802. I enjoyed reading it. It was not too long. never too long when giving Elliott info. LOL.
Welcome, amazingvoice. Thanks for the merchandise info. It was great that you got to enjoy the concert and buy cool stuff and to do a good deed at the same time. The shirts and pins are good ways to raise money for a good cause. Great for Elliott and for the charities.

Yes, I was in Madison Saturday night. I didn't get back home until right b4 Sunday night football started. Packer fan that I am ,( please don't hate me), I watched the game instead of spending the night on the computer. Worked a double today and am heading to bed shortly. I'll TRY to get a recap together tomorrow. My son does have a football game tomorrow night, so I am making no promises. LOL , sometimes I have to miss the "train" and spend time with the family instead...To tide you over, Elliott was as wonderful and as gracious as he always is. I'll get info to you all soon...
PoorMe - October 9, 2007 02:53 AM (GMT)
Thanks, Sunny. We'll be waiting . . .
Linda4Elliott - October 9, 2007 03:41 AM (GMT)
looking forward to the recap Sunny :)

Rosebud9802, thanks for the recap of E in Madison! We love being able to read how his concerts went and you can never give us too many details--especially since some of the venues aren't allowing videos.
Amazingvoice, welcome and thanks for letting us know about your experience in Chicago! Hope the E fans can really make a difference for the kids who need insulin and for diabetes research.

I took my niece (recent college grad), my college student daughter, and my 12 year old son to the Madison concert. My daughter, my husband, and I had seen Elliott in Minneapolis in June, but this was a first for my son, (Minneapolis was an 18 or older venue) and my niece, (she’d recently started a new job). Son and Daughter vetoed listening to Elliott’s cd during the drive, afraid we would “spoil” the concert.
We had an uneventful 3 ½ hour drive to Madison. We parked in the ramp right behind Majestic Live. While walking past Elliott’s bus, which was parked on the street between the ramp and the theater, we saw someone standing on the sidewalk with their head inside the side door of the theater. I told them that it was Elliott. I believe their comment was something like “yeah, right”, as they all condescendingly and collectively laughed at me, believing that I am totally obsessed and “wacked”. We reached the stage door the same time as the person standing there turned and walked toward the bus. I said hi and continued walking toward theater, grinning to myself and waiting for those all-knowing youngsters to figure out who we had just walked past. We’d taken just a few steps when my niece (bright college-educated girl) said OMG that was ELLLIOTT!!! Daughter (remember, bright current college girl) disbelievingly responded Unhuh. By this time I had turned around and was asking Elliott about how opening night in Chicago had gone. “Amazing” was his response. Son, Daughter and Niece joined us and we talked for a few seconds. Russell joined Elliott and we told them we’d see them inside in a couple of hours.
We joined the line in front of the theater about 30 minutes before the doors were to open. Several of the people we talked to in line had been at Chicago the night before. All said Chicago had been great. The doors opened about 20 minutes late; we headed up to our reserved seats in opera box B. Our seats overlooked the stage and were great. The owner was wandering around and talking to everyone. He had just opened a week before after some renovations and wanted to make sure that our seats were okay. The crowd was small, 150-175, and was mixed: college students, older couples, parents with tweens and teens, young single women and men (came as singles, left as couples).
Josh played first, 5 or 6 songs. He didn’t joke with the crowd as much as he did the first leg of the tour, but he sounded great. Daughter is a big fan, bought his cd in June and sang along to all the songs. The Last Goodnight were fun, got the crowd going. They played 10 songs. Daughter commented that they looked punk -rockish and very Eemoe (not sure of the spelling and was unfamiliar with the term, had to ask what it meant. FYI: “cutters” , depressed population.) During their set we realized that our great opera seats were directly in front of some VERY large speakers. The sound system at the club could use some tweaking. Daughter and Niece were also commenting on how loud it was, so it wasn’t just my old ears. Russell, Glen, and Aaron mingled with the crowd, signing autographs and having a good time flirting with some of the girls.
Finally Elliott ….big sigh….he’s just so d**n cute... Since the crowd was so small it was easy to make it right up front to the stage before Elliott started. He sounded as fantastic as he always does. I have no words to describe his performance. It could not be improved on in my eyes and ears. My personal favorites: Take My Breath Away, In Love With You Forever, and Sharing the Night Together.
Side note: Josh was “working” the crowd during TLG and Elliott’s sets. Enjoyed watching him flirt, hug, lip-lock….didn’t see any pole dancing…
Elliott announced that all profits for his black tee shirt with blue circle and blue circle pin sales go to diabetes health care for people in 13 different countries. Elliott once again took the time to meet every single person that wanted to stay after the concert. Unlike my Minneapolis after concert experience, (there security decided that they wanted to be done and started to limit people to a photo OR an autograph), Elliott was allowed the time to talk, take photos, and sign autographs for all. I told him I’d seen him in Minneapolis, he so impressed me when he remembered the name of the club, Trocaderos. I asked him about the Philippines, he said it was great and he can’t wait to go back. I also said I was looking forward to his Christmas cd. He said he was very excited about it and it’s out on the 14th. Niece commented to Elliott that she was going to beg him to sign two things, he laughed and said she didn’t have to beg, he was happy to do it. This guy is so gracious and so real. What an evening!!

Sunny, THANKS so much for your recap!
I'm so glad you and your family had a great time and were able to meet Elliott, too! It's nice that he had the time to meet everybody in line and wasn't rushed away by security. Too bad the crowd was small, but I bet Elliott still sang as if he was in front of thousands. :elliottcap:
THANKS for sharing your recap, too, amazingvoice! I hope that Elliott's black tshirts and pins sell well throughout the tour. And of course, WELCOME to the Etrain! Hope you enjoy it here!
