Good review for Elliott and Josh, not so great for The Last Goodnight.

Enjoy :)

Anxious to read your review......Wow, Grand Rapids Press is another great newspaper review on Elliott's second tour........so nice he is getting the recognition he deserves outside of his fan base.

Thanks for sharing the review! I love that there are more newspaper reviews written about the shows on this tour.
Looking forward to reading your recap. I enjoy reading about a fellow etrainer's experience as well!

I think that since he is playing some smaller cities this time around, we may have a good shot at more reviews. Most large cities have so much going on at any given time - that we can't count on a reviewer even attending the concert.

Marvin Gaye's "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone"? I thought that was Bill Withers. but great review - thanks for posting. I hope the rest of the U.S. doesn't wear Elliott out before he gets back to Virginia to perform at the Norva! LOL!

Ok now for my review. You all know the songs he does in concert so I wil leave that part out.

My friend and I get to the venue a little before 7, grab a beer at the bar before heading into the show area. The Intersection is set up so when you walk in there is a little lobby area with tables couchs and a bar, then you go into a larger room that has the stage, floor area for standing, and tables and couches along the sides and in the back. Very nice venue! Anyways, Josh went first and was quick to mention how much better the Intersetion was compared to St. Andrews (where they played in May). This got screams from the crowd, I think there were a lot of us there who sweated along with them in May. haha Anyways, Josh gave an awesome performance..as always ;)

The Last Goodnight took the stage around 7:45 maybe, they were ok. Not my type of band but hey what can you do.

And finally at maybe 8:30 or so Elliott took the stage. Looking quite good in a brown pant, brown stripe polo and hat ;) A few songs in it looked like some things were kinda off on stage. I think Sway's earpiece went out and Russells guitar was off or something. Elliott was cute though kinda stopping and trying to get the stage hands attention so it can be fixed. The rest of the show is a blur, I hear his voice and just get in that daze.

After the show my friend and I were one of the firsts to meet Josh, got a picture and autograph. Then we hear someone say that the line for Elliott was in the back, so we move to the back of the venue only to figure out the ine was really where we were before. Went from being one of the firsts to almost last in line.

When our turn finally came I was just awstruck, all I could say was "Hi I'm Stephanie (insert hand shaking) and just wanted to say Thank You for staying for all of us to meet you" and then asked for a autograph and picure, I think I made a comment too about how it's Josh's fault he can't sign on his name on my ticket, cause Josh took that spot. I do know he laughed and looked right at me while I talked. It was awesome! I htink the whole thing was like 1 min if that, but man it was awesome!!

After getting lost thanks to detours we got to our hotel at midnight. WHat a night!!

Hope everyone else had fun!!! Or has fun at their concert :)

Thanks for the great recap!! i know what you mean about going into a daze...driving around town listening today, I thought that I'm going to have to go cold turkey on Elliott...something comes over me like a kind of mental orgasm while I'm listening...go into a coma or something with my eyes open...he's a Svengali when it comes to me, help!!! But anyway--great recap!! Awesome!

I am so-o-o looking forward to Tuesday at the Blue Note, as well. It will be nice seeing Sway again, too.
