Sorry it took me so long to get back on the Etrain wagon with this...It has been a pretty tough month. I do want to thank EVERYONE for the many kind words and prayers sent during my brothers surgery...He is back home and on the mend. He has good days and bad days...All part of the recovery process I recon. It was nice knowing my Etrain family was there for me.


This is from the post I did about the rooms...I just called there and today is the deadline to get the $72 rate!!! My contact is going to look into extending it a week...BUT don't delay in making your reservations. I am staying Sat. & Sun. night. Unfortunately we lost a bunch of people when the date changed. I am planning to have an EEEEEEEEEEEEEExciting weekend!!!!

Hi everyone...I have been in search of a block of rooms close by the Norva. The only hotel close by with availability, is a historic hotel that has been recently renovated. It appears to be quite nice. Apparently there is a very large emergency medical convention in town that weekend...
(We should be safe!)

I have reserved a block of 20 rooms for us for Saturday & Sunday nights. When you call...tell the reservationist you are with the "Etrain Group" They are giving us a rate of $72 plus tax per night (Double occupancy) However, there is a $15 per day parking fee two blocks away.

Find a roomie and book now!!!

I have a room reserved at the Tazwell for Sunday night. Since check in is at 3pm, we (Carol and myself) will probably roll into town in the afternoon around 1-2pm. We will both be at the dinner at Kelly's. SOOOOO excited!!!!!! Can't wait to meet everyone :)

Well after spending an entire day unexpectedly in the Emergency room with my son...I came home to a message from The Tazwell...Today is the LAST day they will hold and/or honor the $72 a night rate!!! There is a huge EMS convention in Norfolk that weekend and most all hotels are sold out.

Don't wait any longer cuz the rooms will soon be released. I truly don't want anyone to be "left out in the street"...Hope those of you who have not made your reservation, will tonight!!!

As for my son, he slipped a disk in his neck...Dr. adjusted it, but it has since come back out. He is on Flexeril & Advil for now. If he's not better in the morning, I will take him to my Chiropractor!!! He has been pretty uncomfortable.

Please let me know IF you have made a reservation at the Tazwell so we know who to look for there!!! Do to "privacy laws" they can't disclose the names of the guests registered.

I became quite concerned when I called The Tazwell today and we only have 4 reservations and today is the LAST day to get the group rate. I was under the impression more people had booked rooms...4 just didn't sound right to me.

However...We do have a FULL HOUSE for the pre concert dinner at Kelly's!
It should be a good time!

I had forgotten about the rate expiring until I saw this thread- I just called and was told the rate expired YESTERDAY!! Do you have any thoughts on that? I wonder if the evening clerk knew what he was talking about?!?!

Attention All Norfolk Bound Etrainers...I just spoke to the night clerk at the Tazwell...You have until midnight to make your reservation!!! I spoke to David and he will honor the $72 a night rate til then. Burn up his phone lines...Make your reservation NOW!!! Only 2 hours left!!!
