It was a long drive (and Tammy did all the driving, bless her heart). Eastern Colorado and Kansas are not too thrilling, but the good thing is we only had to take one picture of the scenery since it all looked the same for 700 miles!! On the trip there, we stopped in Wichita to spend the night. not much to say about Wichita.

Cain's was a cool old building with lots of history. We went there when we got in town to get my ticket and got lost a couple of times and made our way back there twice!! On one of our circles, we saw the bus and Elliott which made me feel better cause I had this fear in the back of my mind that the concert would be cancelled for some unknown reason. After finally checking into the hotel, we went to Target to find the holiday CD, but no luck. What else do you do on vacation besides look for new Elliott music???

We got back to Cain's at about 6pm and a line was already forming. doors opened at 7. The place inside was one huge room. The stage was in the back and that's where we staked out our territory and never gave it up!! There was also a small section of bleachers on the side. The bar was in the front of place (it's important to have a clear path to the bar!!) and there was also a merchandise area and and a spot where Elliott and the guys had their stuff displayed. Everyone was jammed by the stage area - I'd guess there were 500 people of all ages scattered around the place - but once you got out of the crowd at the stage, there was lots of room to manuvuer so it wasn't all claustrophobic. I didn't get any pictures of the place inside since I stupidly didn't bring my spare batteries and didn't want to run out of juice before Elliott came on.
Josh came out with his usual songs and also sang a new song that I really liked. That guy is a charmer and is a great start to the show. As usual, he made sure that he spoke about Elliott and I really like that about him. Then TLG came out. The band was way too loud so you could hardly hear the lead singer from where I was although the sound seemed better during Pictures of You which was good since I really like that song. and they got a really good reception. Then they moved their equipment off to get ready for THE MAN!!
The first thing that happened was the ey light thing came up on the wall behind the stage. It was so cool - it was like Elliott has his own bat signal!! Then there he was looking as cute as ever. He did his usual show but added Free and Sharing the Night Together. STNT was so sexy and he knew it. I took a break from gazing adoringly at him and looked around to turn around and watch all of these women gazing adoringly at him - it was a great moment. The crowd absolutely loved him and the screaming was insane. Elliott was all over the stage so it was hard to get good pictures. There definately was a change in him - he's even more soulful and is putting even more of himself into the show if that is possible since I saw him in June in CA. I love watching him - he goes into this zone when he is singing and when the song is over, he comes out of it with this lovely little smile. You can just see how much he loves what he is doing and how much he loves sharing it. Sway was great on backup and was definately a good addition to the show. I loved seeing him there. I absolutely love all the guys in the band - the new drummer is a doll - but my favorite past time when I'm not watching Elliott is watching Aaron. This kid is so cute and so into it all - he is an added bonus for me. oh, if only I was much younger. All the songs were stand out, excellent, excellent performances, of course, but Wait for You was unbelievable and Elliott and the band went wild with Movin' On. It was a great, great final song before the encore. They were rocking the place and the crowd was crazy for them. The concert was amazing. Elliott and the guys seem to have gone to another level, which is hard to believe. I've been to a "few" shows and always think "ok, I know what to expect", so it's hard to believe that when I see him again, I'm even more impressed. He never fails to surprise me. Tammy and I were talking about what a nice group of guys Elliott and his band are - they are all so friendly and respectful and very cute!!
After the show all the guys came out to mingle with the crowd except Elliott who must have been taking a shower and I got to talk to my dear Aaron. We also chatted with Eli from TLG and he is really a nice person. Elliott came out to sign and take pictures. I tell you, he is such a nice guy. He wasn't even sitting down - just standing by a table - and took his time with each and every person. Tammy and I got to know two of the cutest little girls - 12 and 13 - who were at the show who had so much fun getting autographs and meeting everyone. anyway, we had a few minutes with Elliott - he remembered us at the Englewood, CO concert so that was fun (I'm glad he didn't remember the other shows I went to - he might think I'm a crazy obsessive - ha, ha). I took a picture of our little friends with Elliott since they didn't have a camera and sent it to them last night. One of them took a picture of Tammy and I with Elliott. I had to show her how to use the camera and threatened her with not sending her picture if she screwed it up. was that mean?? (she didn't screw it up!!)
so then we drove home and back to reality.
I'm sure there are a thousand details I'm forgetting, but you know how it is when Elliott is in the room. Hopefully, Tammy will fill in what I've overlooked because of my Elliott trance!! But maybe not since I think she was in a worse trance than I was in. I'll post some more pics in the other thread.
I just love Elliott Yamin!!
