Title: Greensboro Show
Description: Oh what a night

harleywoman - November 3, 2007 06:42 AM (GMT)
Just going to stop in for now and say that the show was great. The place was packed. Elliott was AWESOME! The crowd was great and loud. Scott and some of Elliott's Richmond buddies were there. He did come out to the merchandise table to sign autographs and stuff.

We were told no cameras, so we didn't take ours in but others did, so maybe some pics will show up.

More later!

I had heard this place was going to be a sell out or near it; that's great.

Another concert, Harley?!
you must be getting pretty sick of it all by now.....
yeah, right. LOL :-)
:rotfl:

elliottcrazy - November 3, 2007 12:11 PM (GMT)
Oh goody..more to come.

Ok Harley..this time I'm expecting to read something along the lines of :
"well, I had a great time hanging out with E & the gang...he invited me onto the tour bus & we played scrabble, banged out a couple of tunes for the new album..no big thing. They asked if I'd join them for the rest of the tour but I told they I couldn't due to prior commitements with my Harley club..."
Eh..? ;)

harleywoman - November 3, 2007 12:19 PM (GMT)
Actually, this was supposed to have been my first. Then Memphis was added which fit great with my visit to see Amanda, and Birmingham fell in my lap.

Sometime today I might be coherent enough to post more of a recap but right now I'm suffering from lack of sleep and too many jello shots. LOL

I will say this, I had VIP tickets which put you up on a balcony overlooking the stage. What a great way to see the concert and also be able to tell how packed the floor was. Can we say it "sardines"?

Be safe coming home today HW! Call me if you need a break in Richmond on the way back!

I'm glad the show went well after all the reports of E being sick!

I think it's great; I know people who have flown all over the country to see their favorite performers, and none of them were anywhere near half as good vocally live as Elliott Yamin.

Greensboro comes through!

I had such a great time!!!!! :rocker: While standing in the line, I was told no cameras however, I managed to sneak mine in. :cheerleader1: I should have my pics/videos up soon! It was truly packed in there, but despite the lack of space, Elliott put on a damn good show! I had no idea that Josh Hoge was so good, I will definitely purchase his cd, he said that he's doing a duet with Elliott.

LOL It was right before he did ASFY and I was by the exit and this burley security man is cursing really loudly at some girl. Some girl to my right told me that some girls were fighting and I guess he was trying to get them out and she gave him attitude. Wow...fighting at the Elliott Yamin concert..lol..time to bring out top flight security!!!!!!!

Oh yes, Greensboro is home to 4-5 college campuses so there was an abundance of college people there. I even saw one of my professors there!! lol

Actually, this is what Josh said in his blog and he was RIGHT!

"Last night we played Greensboro NC. Really nice turnout. Crowd may have been the loudest yet. We've been talking all day... I have played about 60 shows with Elliott so far and I have never heard him sing like he did last night. He was doing things Im not sure he knew he could do."

The girl that got thrown out was right beside me. Security guy picked her up and removed her. She went out kicking and screaming. I was so glad when they removed her. It was not a E train peep. :1word: I don't know what went on. My eyes were glued to the stage and the concert.

Hmmm it was so good to meet you! Had a great time!

Well here's my story. Got to Greensboro about 10 minutes or so after the Richmond Crew (Pdlvne, Lu, Amom and Leah). We met at Darryl's for lunch.

Now, a little backstory here so this will make sense. Last March when we were at the Richmond CD signing, we were at Chillis having some drinks killing time. When it was time for another round I called out "Bar keep". The bartender thought I called him Sparky. It's been a joke with us ever sense.

So back to Greensboro, Lu told our male server that we had to call him Sparky. He was into and we had a lot of fun with it. So much so that when I went to find him to get our check, I asked one of the other servers where Sparky was. :rotfl:

So we check into the hotel. Lu and Pd come over to my room to partake in the wonderful jello shots I brought. I swear I have never laughed so hard, my sides still hurt. Their fingers were getting red from the cherry shots. Here's a pic.

Well, as much fun as we having, it was time to leave to meet Hmmm at Netty Greene's. My sister was our DD, see were being responsible. LOL We had a great time there. It was good to meet you and your DH Hmmm. Great place, glad you suggested it. Well, of course we were still in Search of the next Sparky, so I this time told the male server that we had to call him Sparky. He was like okay, but I was pretty sure he thought we were nuts. Well he had already brought me a diet coke but was returning with the other's drinks. Just as I take a sip, he says "Sparky's here with the rest of the drinks". I bet you can figure out what happened to the sip I took. He played along with us so well, even accommodated me when I said "Sparky I need a hug". :rotfl:

We left there and walked down to the venue and got in line.

Hmmm - November 3, 2007 11:05 PM (GMT)
Hey Y'all!

David & I had a great time last night! I think I was adopted as Richmond E-trainer for the night. The initiation rites included alcohol, dancing and singing along with E. Sway was probably worried that I was auditioning for a backup singer --- NOT. We were right up next to the stage and in front of Russell. David said that he's certain that he looked down at a few times and was probably thinking "Wow, those soccer moms can move!" Patti & Lu were great dance partners and we really got the rhythm & sway going. Unfortunately, the lady next to me did not appreciate our wonderful choreography and not only *did not* join in but gave me a few dirty looks and eventually moved. Oh well, at least we were all able to shift one spot closer to the center. That was one thing I thought was strange about this crowd. There just didn't seem to be a lot of movement. A good portion of the people I could see where just standing there with their arms crossed and mouths open. Maybe they were just struck in a paralyzing state of awe...

The show was great. I really enjoyed Josh's set (and his flirtatious waves to Harley). The Last Goodnight was fun, but eh, I was ready for E so the set seemed too long. David said they were having major problems with their mic sound. Sadly, I did not notice. Elliott was amazing, natch. While it was all wonderful, of course, I think my favorites were IILWYF (gee I hope I didn't miss any letters), Sharing the Night & Movin' On. Including IILWYF in a favorite list says a lot about the performance since the first time I heard this song my initial reaction was bubble gum. I've always loved Movin On, but the performance was beyond. I especially liked the last bit where Sway came over and sang w/Elliott (Elliott: I'm movin on Sway: I'm movin on. Elliott: --- you get the drift). Sharing the Night needs no explanation since y'all *know* what I'm talking about, though E's blatant squeal requesting hip wiggles after the song were especially cute.

At this point, I am certain some of you are wondering, "What! ASFY wasn't one of hmmm's favorites?" Favorite? It was way beyond favorite and in a class by itself. Amazing? Wonderful? Incredible? I haven't quite thought of an adjective that fully describes that performance. Think of all the recap you've read and then multiply by 10....no, 100!

David took a bunch of pics on his cellphone, but I haven't had a chance to see them, yet. It has been a "2 ships that pass in the night" day for us -- 4 kids can do that to a couple! I do know that my eyes were closed in my picture with Elliott...Hopefully the other pictures were good, though.

lindagt - November 3, 2007 11:16 PM (GMT)
Hmmm, I'm glad you hooked up with the girls for the show and sooo glad you got a break from 4 kids for a "date night" with the man. Hopefully you'll get to another show - maybe up here in Virginia - and we can meet. And by the way, the only pic I have with Elliott - I have my mouth open, so I know what you mean - LOL - there's always another chance for another pic someday....

harleywoman - November 3, 2007 11:19 PM (GMT)
I'm bad, Amom and Leah joined our Jello Shot party a little later. I think there were some left. :rotfl:

We got in line which wasn't too bad at that time. I think it was about 7:00 or so. Here's a pic (Hmmm, Leah, PD, Amom, Becky (my sister), & Lu)

It was after I took this pic that the guy told us no cameras. Boo! We could have taken them in. He didn't know what he was talking about, turns out he was the valet. :poke: to that guy.

I looked down the line and saw someone who seemed to recognize me and it was I Love Elliott. Good to meet you. Well my sister and I left the rest of them and went to the VIP line. It was in that line that I saw Outofmymind and his wife. We recognized each other and said hi. As I posted earlier, the VIP tickets allowed you upstairs to the balcony, which was great. It was so cool to be up there and watch the place fill up. I was so wishing I had my camera because it would have been great crowd shots from there. Josh comes on and he's great. He talks about his new upcoming CD and says that, yes, there will be a duet with Elliott. That brought a lot of cheers. Josh is so entertaining, just love him.

TLG take the stage and I don't know what it was, but the energy level of their set was unreal. They were so good. Kurtis, at one point, sat down at the edge of the stage right where my other E-Train friends were. I'll let them tell the rest of this part. Josh was standing side stage at this point and I look over and I see him waving and I wave back and he blew me a kiss. I didn't know at that point that there was another woman. :rotfl:

Then it was time for Elliott. OMG, if he was supposedly sick earlier, there was no way it showed. He was on FIRE! He worked that stage, and from my vantage point, it was AWESOME! I could take them all in at once and not miss anything. During "In Love With You Forever", Sway, Olllie & Russell backed up toward what I call the drum stage. Then Elliott ran and sprung off the drum stage and I think the others jumped up and they all hit the ground on the last beat. I thought I would die, I hadn't seen this in the other 2 shows I'd been to. I thought I was going to fall off the balcony. During WFY, he was having the crowd sing the chorus. We were LOUD. He's says, that was sweet, let's do it again and we did, even louder. He was smiling from ear to ear, just loving it.

Outofmymind and his wife were standing next to me. It was so nice to visit with you guys and thanks for sharing your coat with me. My arms were getting so sore from leaning on the rail. Again, congratulations on your marriage, you're such a cute couple.

Elliott ended with ASFY as we all know by now. He acknowledged his brother and his Richmond buddies.

To be continued in next segment..........

Final segment. I bet you're going, Thank God. :rotfl:

Elliott says he will be out by the merchandise table in about 10 minutes. So my sister and head down. We get to the bottom step at the same time as the rest the rest of the Richmond Crew are coming in from the floor. What timing. Anyway we get in line. I see Scott and he and I talk briefly about AmandaRhea. He told me to tell her hello from him and to give her a hug from him. I did an internet hug on her caringbridge page.

Then Josh comes in, comes over to me and asked if I saw that he blew me a kiss. I said yes. He said he saw me and then said to Elliott, Harley's here. He then tells me that I have competition, another woman, Elliott's mom Claudette. (see his blog). :awe: I then talk to him about another E-Trainer, wanting to make sure something happens.

Okay, we hear this guy say, move to the left, and knew that Elliott was coming. Kurtis is out there and starts chanting "Josh Hoge". Everybody out there joins in, it was so cool. Elliott goes up to Josh and then chants Josh Hoge along with us. Then Josh starts chanting "Scott Yamin's brother" pointing to Elliott. So we all join in that one. It was fun. Let me add here, that people were pushing foward a lot. Felt like you were getting squeezed.

I just wanted to say hi to Elliott and mention to him about another E-Trainer as well. I got that accomplished and went outside and left the other members of the Richmond crew to meet Elliott and get autographs. They come out and my sister told me she told Elliott that she was HarleyWoman's sister. Then PD told him that they were HarleyWoman's cousins. They said that Elliott was laughing. PD, if I got that wrong, let me know. :rotfl:

Well that's my story. Our new reality show "In Search of the Next Sparky" will hit it's next city, Norfolk, next weekend.

After taking my camera back to the car and seeing other people inside the venue with cameras, I went back out and got mine.
Took a couple of videos and pics and the battery problem began! All of my rechargeables had not charged!
I thought I had saved enough battery to at least get my picture made with Elliott.
My friend took one of us (back of my head) as he was signing my CD, but when he put his arm around me to pose.........it had died.
Well...........I almost died!!!!
Honestly I almost cried all the way home and everytime I have though of it today I almost tear up!!
I went to Wal Mart today and bought batteries that are suppose to last 7x longer.
So, Norfolk here I come.
Mr. Elliott Yamin better be ready for that pic with me!!!!!

So good to see all of you Richmond E-Trainers and Hmmm!!

Searching for Sparkly is a must see... always full of surprises. :) So far, Sparky number 3 wins the prize!

Honestly though, I dont mean to sound corny but this concert was one of the best times I've ever had - ever. Elliott was amazing but so were the people I was with. Harly, Gigi, Leah, Terry, David, Patty and Becky - thanks for a wonderful time and for being such fun, wonderful, sweet people. Can't wait to do it again...

Look out waiters in Norfolk - YOU may be the next Sparky!!!!!!!
