Title: Kellie Pickler On CMA

Elliottfan27 - November 8, 2007 04:10 AM (GMT)
Well, the girl finally won me over. I was crying like a big baby when she sang that heartfelt song. I could tell is was starting to get to her. I thought it was nice the way the audience backed her up and gave her a standing ovation.

I'm not even a country fan and didn't like Kellie during the show. I wanted to see how she would perform. I thought the producers of American Idol were telling her to play the dumb blonde act too much.

Anyway, I can see now that she is in a different realm and that she really respects where she came from and how she got there.

It's pretty awesome to see young talent develop like that.

She just had to go and make me cry. I might buy the CD now. Is it good?

Kellie's performance was very touching! I thought she did an awesome job. I too, am glad that the audience backed her by giving her a standing ovation! God Bless her soul!

OMG, that song makes me cry everytime I hear it. The 1st time she performed it was on 'The View' & she warned the audience that she had yet to be able to sing it without breaking down. Needless to say, she cried then too, as did I.
She absolutely did a wonderful job. I was so proud of her. And I was also thrilled to see the audience give her a standing O, she deserved it. :awe:

I cried, too! She did a wonderful job, and she looked gorgeous. I had seen her perform that song on The View and maybe another show, too, so I knew how emotional it was. I was a little rough on her during idol, and now I just adore her! Great Job, Kellie!!!

I'm so glad you guys saw that!! Even my hubby got all choked up watching it. Did you notice her little brother in the audience? I just love her - loved her on Idol and still do. I just wish she had won the award, but I really didn't think she would. I also enjoyed the little bit we got to see of Bucky. Great show!!

OMGosh, I really got choked up watching her performance. It is such an emotional song and I'm sure the fact that she was performing it at the CMA's and having been nominated just added to the emotion. I had heard that her date was her little brother. She said she had a tux made for him w/ a tie that would match her dress. Did you notice he was crying too? Yes, I love Kellie. She knows who she is and is proud of it. For the dysfunction of her parents, with the love & support of her grandparents, she has done fantastic for herself and I couldn't be happier for her. I too was so glad to see the audience giving her the support she needed. It appears she may have touched their hearts as well.

AI was well represented last night. Congrats to Carrie, she's now a force in the country music industry. It was so cool that Bucky got to be a presenter to Rascal Flatts, one of his label mates.

I was really impressed with the whole show. The female artists were dressed like ladies and acted like ladies. All the performances were really good. it was obvious that all the nominees were talented. Everyone was respectful. I loved that my kids could watch with me and I never worried that something would be said or done that I didn't want them to see.

The country industry showed a lot of class last night. Some of the other genres really need to take that as a lesson.

Amen!

It's interesting that in this genre, the Idol stigma seems to immediately disappear - no "judgement" going on there. I think at first for Carrie there was a little resentment that she got in so fast, but she's proven her talent is worth her recognition, so now - it's just not an issue.

It was so good to see "sweet tea" on stage!

I was impressed with Carrie too, not forgetting where she came from giving mad props to American Idol and the producers. Too often they don't acknowledge them anymore after a certain point.

Carries was gorgeous as well. Congratulations to them all!

I wish I could see Bucky, I missed that...how were the Eagles?

The Eagles were fantastic - love dit. But, then again, they are one of my all time favorites. All in all it was a very entertaining show.

I agree, the Eagles were great and like posttime they are one of my all-time favorites and I'm thrilled to have new music from them. They still have the harmonizing thing down pat!

The whole show was great and very entertaining.

I did not watch the show but just viewed the snippet of the video posted on this subject. Kellie looked wonderful and bravo to her for showing her emotional side as I am sure she has feelings about her upbringing. I am not much into country music but will give that song a listen.

Congrats to all the winners!

Kellie and Carrie both performed beautifully on the CMAs!

I watched while talking to my mom (a country music lover) long distance. I was particularly wanting to hear Kellie and Carrie (the AI lover I am).

I explained to my mom about Carrie and Kellie as she doesn't watch AI. During Kellie's performance of "I Wonder," we both were crying. It was very heartfelt, and I imagine she touched a lot of hearts. It was so touching that she received a standing ovation!

On AI, I always thought Kellie was sweet and down to earth. She was and is sincere and is honest about everything she has gone through. She has had some hard knocks, but is doing well anyway. Her grandparents did a great job.

Small Town Girl is #116 on Amazon. I'm not sure what # it was before the CMA's, but most likely it got a boost.

Carrie sang "So Small." I liked the song, and she looked very pretty in her long yellow gown. Her's was one of my favorite performances.

I'm not a country music fanatic by any means, but I too was impressed. There were some great performances by talented artists, and there wasn't anything inappropriate for my kids. I will watch next year.

This is off topic but, during the CMA's there were quite a few Target commercials, some promoting artists. Both Taylor Swift's Christmas CD and Carrie's new CD were featured.

The American Music Awards is coming up Nov. 18, I wonder if Elliott's Christmas CD will be featured in a promo commercial then. He isn't nominated for an award though, so maybe other artists that are nominated will be featured instead of him?

I haven't seen a promo for his Christmas CD yet, but it's getting closer to the Holidays, so in the next few weeks it should start being advertised...maybe during the AMAs???

The promo of Elliott's SOTS Christmas CD?

Which song is he singing?

xtn4e - November 14, 2007 06:59 AM (GMT)
Just got around to viewing the video on youtube and Kellie certainly did a wonderful job. What was even more impressive was that Kellie still managed to sing this song in tune and with control even if you could sense she was in the midst of breaking down.

And you could tell that she was awestruck by the standing ovation she got after her performance. I'm certain she wasn't expecting and when she got the standing o, you could really hear the gratitude in her voice. Massive props to Kellie!

Yes, the Eagles were AWESOME! I was so impressed, because sometimes when people get older, their voices aren't as good/strong/whatever, and they all sounded great together. I loved the harmonizing. It was really great. You don't see too much harmonizing like that anymore, and I really enjoyed them. :)

Some other performances that I really enjoyed were
~Rascal Flatts duet with Jamie Foxx. It was really great hearing them sing together on "She Goes All the Way."
~Sugarland's song "Stay" was really beautiful the way Jennifer Nettles sang with just her partner playing the guitar. To me, it sounded even better than the recording. Jennifer has a wonderful voice, and the performance gave me goosebumps.

I loved Carrie and Kellie, too. :)
