I got to Harrisburg around 4:30. I got lucky and got hooked up with a meet and greet. I got to the venue around 6:20 and asked this woman who was greeting people at the door if she knew anything about the meet and greet. She said she was sorry, that it happen over 2 hours ago. The meet and greet was thru KISS FM, 15 people had won meet and greets and I guess I was added to this list but had no idea. I decided to hang around he tour bus and hopefully run into John, the After hanging around a little and seeing no one come out of the bus for a while I walked back down the street. I heard the door of the bus open and close turned around and the tour manager, Russell and Joonie were heading down the street in the opposite direction to smoke. I was down the street, so I had to walk REALLY fast. I didn't want to run down the street after them and freak them out. lol
Anyway, I caught up with who I assumed was the tour manger - he was an older guy wearing a name tag, and I asked him if he was John.. He was, and confirmed that the meet and greet had already happened and asked me if I got an email. I didn't. Anyway, he said to come find him after the show in the back at the mixing boards and he would take care of me, take me back to meet him before anyone else. I started to walk away and he called after me and asked me if I had tickets. I did, and if I had known my daughter didn't have school on Thursday, I would have brought her. I didn't want to bother Russell and Joonie with request for pics, they were kinda back in the corner near a buiding having a smoke.
Now onto the show. Josh was really good. It seems to me that his voice has gotten stronger. He had the audience laughing quite a bit. Of course he talked about Elliott again. He thanked him for inviting him on the first leg and then the second leg of the tour and how much he loved him. Then he added he was a good kisser. The audienced laughed, and Josh was like, what? how do you think I got invited for the second leg of the tour. It's a rule. You tour with Elliott, you make out with him after the show. Then Josh said that he could see a lot of people laughing but he could also see that there people with these looks on their faces turning to the people next to them and saying, you know, I really think he does kiss Elliott; I can tell. Really funny guy.
The Last Goodnight wasn't bad, but I really can't get into their music. After a few songs, I took a bathroom break and something funny happen. I was in the stall next this lady and she was tapping her foot really loud. She then said, sorry, I'm tapping my foot. I didn't know whether or not she was talking to me, so I didn't say anything. At the sinks, I said, I didn't know if you were talking to me. She said she was. She was tapping her foot trying to make herself go to the bathroom and then she thought about that scandal with that senator, so she said sorry. LOL. I was cracking up, it was so funny.
Now for the main man. The audience was a very diverse mix of races and ages. There were a lot of teens and young adults. The audience showed Elliott a lot of love. It was a seated venue, but a lot of people got up and danced during Alright, Movin' On and ILWYF. He was in fine voice; no hoarness or sharpness. He sounded fantastic. The only thing I would change is for him to have taken off his hat at some point - he wore for the whole show and you really couldn't see his eyes.
They had a sign saying no recording, but they didn't check purses and tons of people were recording. ASFY was amazing as usual, and he does this little sexy dance at the beginning of Share The Night together. Also there was no mention him going to the merch tables afterwards.
So once the show ended I went back and found John, and he told me to wait while he went to find Elliott. Turns out Elliott went to the merch table. So the tour mgr said he would take me backstage to wait so I can meet him personally. I was in total shock as we made our way down a maze of hallways until we reached the back of the stage. So I just sat backstage and just watched the stagehands break everything down. Wow, Elliott has TONS Of stuff. I saw Joonie back there and took his pic. Really nice guy. One of the venue managers comes out and says to one of the stagehands, that he does not know where to begin with their dressing room. He said he's never seen a dressing room like that before. I guess the guys left it a big mess. :rotfl:
After about an hour wait total, the tour manager comes walking back and says here he is. Ok, now, I had all these things I was going to say to Elliott, and the moment I laid eyes on him, I could barely remember my name. I should have made a list!!!! He had his hand extended and I shook it and I said something to the affect that I would like a hug, which we did. All I can remember is all these shiny ringlets and him smiling. He still had so much energy. We chatted about the tour for a bit, he thanked me a couple times for coming to the show. Now my mom did not want me to make the drive to Harrisburg alone even though it's only 3 hrs. She had been trying to dissuade me for the past two weeks. She had come down to pick up my two daughters and was trying to talk me out of it even as I was putting on my coat to leave! I told him I had a request and took out my camcorder. He had this very curious look on his face. I asked Elliott if he would film a message to her that I was fine and still alive. He did, it's cute and I'll post it as soon as I can. He asked me where I was from and he said Pittsburgh wasn't that far. Do you hear that mother??? lol I'm a grown ass woman by the way, so go figure. As the we left the backstage, Elliott thanked me again and said to John he was go take another cold shower. He did sweat alot that night.
Now here's the sickening part. Keep in mind I had Elliott all to myself for a few moments. Can you guys believe I FORGOT to take pics with him???????? I had brought a brand new camera just for this occassion! I didn't realize it until I was out the front door of the venue!! I was sooooo upset with myself and could barely sleep that night. I was in shock, nervous, excited and overwhelmed at the fact that I had a personal, one one meet and greet that it actually slipped my mind. I have almost recovered from this, but on the other hand, I'm happy that I finally got to meet him. He's a sweetheart.
